You're right. Tobias often talks about that the live concerts is all about creating two hours of entertainment for people. Giving his audience not just the songs from start to finish but a whole experience with music, visuals, clothes, lights, fire, laughs and the quality of his musicians together with his stage presences. That's what makes a Ghost show stand out.
I had no idea there was hate, but I'm not too surprised. Every line is a clever pun, and there is so much tongue in cheek humor. The music itself is completely different from any other style I have heard before. I love this way more than Call Me. Call Me sounds boring now lol
After listening to this for the 3rd and 4th times...its one of those Ghost tunes that just gets better and better with relistens... turning out to be some big ones on this new album for sure!
I absolutely HATED this song when it came out. I forced myself to listen to it over and over. Needless to say, I LOVE it now. It grows on you like Mummy Dust
I turned my 61 year old mom and my 84 year old grandmother into Ghost fans with this song! This and Call me Little Sunshine 🤘🤘🖤🖤 this is very different for Ghost but I love that they experiment with new styles. Love the word play and dark humor. One of my faves from Impera for sure
I remember when my brother first showed me this song (I love Ghost, but was burnt out from work when this song was released). My brother just watched me the whole time, he didn't expect me to like it so much with the first listen, he said it took him a few listens. Reason I loved it on the first listen? Nostalgia... Because it reminds me of "Repo! The Genetic Opera".
He said the Full Imperatour will be a bigger stage presence. "This was a warm up to what's next"! This song is awesome. Like you said, it's fresh. We need fresh! TWENTIES 👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘💖💖💖👻👻👻
I've seen a few people comment on not liking some of the lyrics, the whole "grabbing them by the hoohahs" "grinding in a pile of mulah" n such: which is fair! It IS kind of a laugh though. Like, is it not the same as all the other blatant innuendo in most of ghosts other content? Idk, one of my FAVORITE components of Ghost is how un-serious they can be sometimes. I love the puns and the double meanings everywhere, the innuendo. Ghost is So goofy sometimes. I don't see much of a difference between this and Kiss The Go-Goat, or like Jigolo Mer Megiddo. "Not fighting a war is for suckers" the whole song is just such a silly thing. The Hoohah line is such an attention grabber! Lmao I love the way first time reactors immediately full body screenshot. It's so good I seriously couldn't get more then like 30 secs into this song the first time I heard it, simply for the difference in sound. Then I heard it again and suddenly I was in love. I adore the entire new album!
While it could be seen as very unserious i interpreted this song as being a very serious critique of human society. There are a lot of references to fascism, both in Europe in the 1920s (specifically referencing Hitler's idea of the 3rd Reich) and also a lot of references to Trump (grabbing em by the hoo-haas). All in all Tobias seems to have written this song with that kind of fascist rhetoric in mind. I'd say that this song is very serious yet very goofy since Tobias is dunking on both modern day and past fascist movements and their rhetoric. So to me its definetly a very political song at the very least, whether or not that was Tobias' intention :) .
For somebody that doesn't speak english natively, that's a pretty hard song to understand the lyrics because of the amount of slang; but nevertheless, that song has such a groove... It took me a few times listening to it to start to enjoy it
Thank you for the kind words! I’m listening to this song a bunch it’s so wild and funny and now the social commentary is sinking in for me. Tobias is a genius.

Moolach I guess is = Moloch... so not a good time bc Moloch was a deity, for whom people are burned alive as an offering XD Also, there's a theory too, Moloch being the same as christian god (but in it's ancient form)...

He’s certainly living up to everything you mentioned. Especially the laughs. He’s basically doing hilarious standup between every song.
I can picture a live orchestra, choir and some dancers performing on stage with Ghost during this song.
Totally! Like a west side story gang snapping their fingers in a slummy street
Well, You are in for a ride Cus on the 9/11/23 Show at the Kia forum there were Skeleton dancers during this song ;)
Omg and it was like that!
Love your positivity towards the song. All the hate towards it from others I feel like they don't understand alot of the irony in their music.

I completely agree. This song is the work of a genius. I dont use that word lightly.
The happiness in your facial expressions. Simply Priceless.
This song feels like it would be a villainous politicians solo song in a 1920s themed musical! Its very broadway
This song hyped me up and made me want to start a revolution.
Great reaction vid

Props on waiting it out! Your reaction to the beginning was similar to mine 😁

Also the grab the by the hoohah line is a clear reference to an infamous recording of Donald Trump saying precisely that

I get Killing Joke vibes which is awesome.
Very Diablo Swing Orchestra alike avantgarde metal ) Still, the heaviest stuff from Ghost
I was at the show too! Fantastic show.
True story: I took a piss next to Steve Vai after the show
There are a few seconds of this song that briefly made me think of Wizard of Oz

Thanks Georgia! I haven’t seen Repo! But I’ve heard about it a lot. I’ll have to check it out.

It sounds like "Kiene Lust" by Rammstein mixed with a villains song from a Disney movie (a good one).

Brasilian mumy dust
Most definitely (as is MD), one of Ghost's heavier songs to date..loving it, and can't wait for the Mar 11 full rls of Impera!

Moolah is also American slang for money. And the grabbing chulas by the hoohas is a reference to a former American politely figure.

Love the music of this song but think that the lyrics are the weak point. The rhymes feel forced. Overall not a fan of it.
The lyrics actually are best part... if you understand the message ;) He's singing exactly about what's happening now, in a most brilliant way.
I love the lyrics. Basically describing with humor how a dictator riles up his followers to incite chaos and commit atrocities.
