- First attempt at recreating voice by modulating the duty cycle of a square wave channel, I think it ended up nicely.
This was made using Famistudio. It's a program like Famitracker for making hardware-accurate music for the NES, but with a more modern appearance and a DAW interface.

@@sparksspace9461 Most 8bit sound systems could only have three separate channels of sound + one channel dedicated to percussion at a time. Think of them like three musicians and a dedicated percussionist. They usually had a small selection of "instruments" as well, which were pre-encoded sounds that could be pitched up or down. Meaning that you could have, say, channel 1 playing sound 1, channels 2 and 3 playing sound type 2, and percussion. With percussion having its own small pool of instruments that were pulled from. In this case there's: channel 1 for the vocals, percussion playing the background beat, as well as channels 2 and 3 for the other sounds that play as well.
You could do some funny code to get more, but this was the baseline.

To add to that, the NES specifically has 2 channels that can only produce square waves, one that produces a triangle wave, one noise channel, and a DPCM sample channel, all of them used here. The vocals effect here is made by changing the ammount of time the square wave is 'up' at multiple points, giving sounds resembling certain vocals.
The noise channel is not very noticeable here because it's mostly used to give the DPCM drums a bit more higher frequencies, but you can hear it at 1:04 imitating finger snaps

Hazbin Hotel 8-bit video game:
This is Valentino’s Humble Sex Dungeon level. You play as Charlie, and try to get Angel Dust out of here. He runs up to you in a panic, asking you why you are here. Before you can reply, Valentino comes up to you and acts like a creep, because he is one. He offers you a job. You aggressively-kindly decline. Then, you are now seen talking to a mic-holder about the Hazbin Hotel! Valentino is clearly bothered and takes Angel to his dressing room to talk with him in private. You hear a thud, then they walk out, Valentino walks out and shoved Angel onto the bed, shouting “Let’s take this from the top!” You get angry, and say “What makes you think you can treat him like that?!” Then, somehow, within a minute, you set the place on fire. You try to escape with Angel Dust, but just as you are about to reach the exit doors, Valentino stops you. Then, the boss fight starts as this theme plays.
Endings: You win!: You return to the hotel successfully after you defeat Valentino. You lose..: The screen says “GAME OVER” in red, and below it reads “You’re a loser, baby”
