+ottolohr He played a fender from 1966 - 1969. He used it on LZ 1. He switched to a Gibson because he wanted a fuller, richer sound on stage when he played live. The sound equipment wasn't as good as it is today, and he liked the double humbuckers provided by Gibson Les Pauls.

Agree. I never cared for the Black Crowes because they are too affected, but musically they do have a certain rawness that Page seems to seek out. I'm blown away by their arrogance though. They literally insulted Page a few days into the tour, which is why it was cancelled. "Hurt back". That was Jimmy gracefully exiting an ungrateful band that will never come close to ever working with such a genius again.

Try being a stage hand and having to unload trucks, arrange the road cases, un pack them, put the truss in place, bolting all together, mounting the chains and motors, connecting all the lights, building the video screens, building the stage and risers, running all the cables to the foh setting up the speakers and the pa, putting all the curtains and rods in place, then after the big stars play and have fun for a couple of hours, putting all that stuff back into the cases and loading it all back on to the trucks. I wanted one so bad but i was a poor teenager and thought that blowing money on a pos guitar would be too frivolous when i already had a great Epiphone Les Paul standard and a tricked out Mexican Stratocaster. I did however spring for the Danelectro Daddy'o Overdrive pedal and a small portable amp called Honey Tone from them as well.

Steve Gorman OMG, same as Chris took in Plant and remained Chris, Steve really rose to the challenge with Bonham in this tour. Unpopular opinion: I know this album and tour wouldn't have happened without Page, but I much rather have had an album of Crowes Zep covers WITHOUT Page (his playing in Live at the Greek is either meh or embarrassing, sorry) with Marc Ford.

That's why he was ranked best session guitarist available in London throughout the sixties before he joined the Yardbirds, and bands would be put on hold for weeks so that he could be recorded on their albums? Yeah, he's not that impressive at all.
