The timing on Gian's glow up is perfect too now Al's mostly gone from TSF. They went from a two man show to a one man show while BCW went from a one man show to a two man show, filling the gap in mechanical banter.
Those piston circlips are often know as Ping-Fuckits. Ping is the noise the circlip makes and fuckit is the noise you make as it flys off into the far corner of your garage, never to be seen again.
I use a sparkplug box, or the box the coil came in to gap the coil from the flywheel. Also they may have removed the base gasket for more squish/compression
Coffee van sound: locally (the UK) we have a sandwich/pasty/sausage roll van for workplaces, and ice-cream vans at the weekend. Our work van plays Greensleeves, our ice-cream van is currently on the Harry Potter theme tune!
This thing was so botched together when I acquired it. It had so many random self tappers holding it together, the machine screws were a step up, lol! It’s so awesome seeing it come together with that big bore and race port cylinder too! The before and after should be amazing!
Hell yeah, rock the go-ped! I only sold mine not too long ago in peices. Between snapping the handlebar shaft bolt, and breaking the exhaust housing mount on the cylinder from hitting the expansion pipe on the ground doing donuts... it was always a work in progress hahaha. With the hi-po carb, k&n filter, and that expansion pipe, that baby little piston used to be able to throw you off the back if you weren't leaning over the handlebars 😅 Cool to know that Zenoah is husqvarna now, that's super interesting!
Gian, you should try some of those 5 star leaf plants that produce the 9, 11 and even 13 leaves. They've got more pep in your step after imbibing. Don't give it to Benny though, he might speak a bit faster and we don't want that
11:10 - We don't have coffee trucks, but we do have sandwich vans/trucks in some parts of the UK. Where I work in Telford, we have them. Never saw them where I was born, in Birmingham.
Those tiny pistons are cute. I kinda want an old moped to buzz around in summer, but some electric gizmo would be not oily and smelly and noisy and I'm old enough to be into that
this was AWESOME. used to ride one of these in my teen years as well. and still have the damn thing. needs a new gas tank and carb. maybe ill get to it. lol nice video benny!

for 2-strokes, turbos = no, but superchargers = yes. I see usually centrifugal superchargers, but with it being carb, you might have to work out a whole preasurized fuel system, which im not sure how you would do (since using exhaust pressure, like some RC car people do, with this wierd frame exhaust is probably a no-go) unless you add a pump, whick then needs a source of power and so on. definately a can of worms if you try to do forced induction here.
It can’t face any other way. The ring is pinned and it’s pinned at 90 degrees to the gudeon pin and the piston id mark points to the exhaust port so it can’t go anywhere else.
@BennysCustomWorks sounds like you got it right. Piston mark always goes to exhaust. Usually if the ring end gap has to pass over a port there is a bridge across the port on the cylinder wall to stop it from hooking a ring. Maybe it just not an issue at that performance level or bore diameter. My background is in outboard, snowmobile, and dirt bike 2 strokes. Haven't worked on anything that small. Glad she's a ripper.
This is cool reminds of the days when I seen my licence as a right not a privilege young and dumb so found myself having to purchase a push bike that already had the motor strapped to it....were I bought it you had a choice of 2 Chinese 2 stroke motors either 50cc or 80cc naturally I went for the 80 they looked the same other then a black or silver casings....back then the popo didn't know what to do with em legally and mine would sit 70 to 80km on flat road no problems and even got ya up the hills without pedal assistance....all I can say mate take no offence being a big bloke those scooters are death traps and hope you have a good dental plan those little wheels will grab anything especially at speed they will throw you off believe me been there done it....just a heads up bro that's all...was a cool little video mate cheers. I think the law in nsw is anything 50cc or over needs a licence and rego anything lower is fair game some police are full on about it but generally wear a helmet put along they tend to look and leave alone....rip around getting attention they hammer you with everything....

if you get a chance, ride a kaabo wolf king gt pro scooter, mine hits 105 in a stupid short distance, wheel spin until 60 lol.. Actually scary but so much fun

Benny, you can aneal the clutch springs to make it a lot more drivable. Just heat them red hot with a propane torch and let them air cool.
Hahaha nicely done Benny! Love your videos, no matter what you're working on, keep up the great work!
P.S. Love the chats between you 2 boys.
For all those saying "no" to turbo two-strokes, Polaris and Ski-Doo (BRP) both have factory turbo two stroke snowmachines. 🙂
I thought we figured all this out in the 80s if not before. My shop teacher had a turbo 2 stroke sled and it hauled ass

Clearly need to race this vs a MotoCompo ;)
2-strokes don't usually like turbos, they really pick up power with superchargers. This is coming from HPI Baja RC buggies
Yep, 2 strokes require good exhaust scavenging, and a turbo kills that.
2 strokes also self supercharge. That’s what the MX guys call the powerband.
This is a good format.
"star shaped leaf" Gian, you scoundrel
Nice project, also super keen for updates on the great wall gearbox, hopefully going well.
Next week’s ep will give a good update

To gap your coil to flywheel use a business card. I work on chainsaws for a living and that's what I've always used.
Yep everyone has a bit of paper
Like setting points gap in a dizzy - use a cigarette rolling paper.

You ever wondered what that brass 10 thou feeler guage was in your set? It's for setting the coil gap on these things.
It’s much bigger than 10 thou according to Zenoah

The "Petrol Skateboard" existed before the "Petrol Scooter". The throttle as held in the hand.

Your gut feeling is right about the ring end gap. Piston has to face correct direction so that ring end gap doesn't hook a port.
It can’t face any other way. The ring is pinned and it’s pinned at 90 degrees to the gudeon pin and the piston id mark points to the exhaust port so it can’t go anywhere else.

People remove the cylinder to crank case gasket to increase the compression ratio.

Yes 2 strokes work from the back pulse from the exhaust so a turbo would mess with that
