/Adam Simpson is highly regarded by very many in the industry. EVERYONE knows the two club towns are a hugely stressful fishbowl environment for coaches and players to operate in. It will be interesting to see what choices Adam makes going forward. Thank heavens the AFLCA are a more professional and better funded body these days. Offering a whole range of supports for coaches in career transition or who are suddenly out of a job. Brad Scott, Michael Voss, Alastair Clarkson, Ross Lyon, Damian Hardwick, are all good examples of career renewal.

Eddie shouldn't bring up poaching Malthouse, as he would not have allowed that to happen when he was in charge of Collingwood. That is the most they have talked about the Eagles for 2 or 3 years, and all it took was for Simmo to be sack and the rats come out of the woodwork.

Was a good Coach you mean. His pragmatic gameplan just simply doesn't cut it in a much more fast paced, high pressure modern game where you must take the initiative against your opposition.
The harsh reality is he just like Alistair Clarkson at the Hawks ran most of the Premiership core into the ground and just simply wouldn't accept his teams window was well and truly closed after an incredibly mediocre 8th placed Collingwood defeated them in the Elimination Final back in 2020. That off-season should have been the big wake up call to trade away guys like Gaff who were very tradable at the time and were at their highest ever value. It would have meant getting a bunch of good picks in return and effectively fast tracking the rebuild.

Firstly, the paper would have run with that newspaper front page regardless. We've had three years plus of this tabloid rubbish and readership has plummeted. So I was glad that Simmo highlighted their cruelty and bizarre targeting of players, (an example is Harley Reid on the front and page pages every day for 3 months plus)... And constant photoshopping of politicians and sportsmen to humiliate them. Woodcock writes the articles but he doesn't do the headlines or editorials. He is just a relatively young journo who is having to do what he's told.

Clueless these guys about the WC Eagles and WA in general. No mention at all about Jarrod Schofield interim coach who will likely make big changes and nail the rest of the season enough to become permanent coach. This guy has paid his dues big time as a WAFL coach multiple premierships, AFL assistant coach and AFL player. It’s all primed for Schofield to be the coach. Yet these geese on this show didn’t even mention him as a candidate. Clueless. Zero entertainment content this show.

@pascalpitchen3219 At 5:01 mins Damien introduces Jarrod Schofield as interim coach for the next seven weeks. They mention his WAFL Premierships - but I mistook that as a player, not a coach. The interpretation of these four panellists is 'Uncertainty' for what authority and freedom will be given to Schofield. On the one hand they say he'll want to prove himself for the senior role. On the other hand, they suggest there'll be multiple inteferences in team selection and game day from the football department at the club. /It's Sat 10th August today. Heard that WCE sneaked home a win, against North Melbourne I think. The end of season games remain relevant for all sides.

That will happen when you have 2 full seasons of the worst injury lists in AFL history.
People have short memories, but they often could only pick 20 or 21 players from their entire squad of 40 over those 2 seasons. They constantly had to top up their game day team with WAFL players who had no prior affiliation with the club.
Do you remember that game in 2022 where they nearly had to forfeit? I'm guessing not.
If the club didn't have rotten luck for 24 months, more games would have been won.
