Charlie was an American singer, musician & songwriter. His career spanned over 5 decades. His music covered a lot of different genres including southern & country rock, country, bluegrass, blues & gospel. He was best known for this number one country hit "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". Some of his other songs were "Uneasy Rider", "The South's Gonna Do It Again", "Long Haired Country Boy", "In America", "The Legend Of Wooley Swamp", "Still In Saigon" etc.
Charlie Daniels is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. This song was a huge crossover and is still played on both classic country and classic rock radio stations.
Diggin’ your reactions to this Charlie Daniels classic. I remember listening to this during the 70s on the radio in Australia. Charlie Daniels was a world wide phenomenon at the time. The difference between a violin and a fiddle - a violin has ‘strings’ and a fiddle has ‘strayngs’. Lol. 🎻🤠Cheers, Rocky and Kaz
I’m really enjoying your reactions. I can’t wait to see how fast the channel grows. Primus has a cover of this song. The music video claymation is amazing, and it’s nothing like the video for “My Name Is Mud” 😂😂😂
Charlie got his big break when he moved to Nashville in the '60's & landed a studio gig on a Bob Dylan song from one of his early masterpieces recorded here, "Blonde On Blonde", if I'm not mistaken? Dylan asked him to stay on for more sessions he liked him so much. Then when Leonard Cohen moved to Franklin & recorded his 2nd & 3rd albums here he recruited Daniels as well. During those sessions Cohen got an invite to play the 1970 Isle of Wight festival, England's answer to Woodstock, he took him along as can be seen in footage on here/yt. He's the one playing bass with glasses on looking like a hippie behind Cohen!😅 Jimi Hendrix played one of his last shows there, & it was the very last Doors concert before Jim Morrison died too. Being younger, y'all may not be aware, but there's no better songwriters in the history of music than Dylan & Cohen! I would imagine you at least know who Dylan is, though most hate his voice???!😅 Cohen wrote the mucho covered song "Hallelujah." Dylan more prolific, but Cohen was the Master song-smith! If don't know Cohen would suggest his 1st greatest hits album to start with- just him, a classical guitar, & a couple of backup singers. There's also another Master you should check out if not familiar with, & that would be "The Godfather of Soul" himself, James Brown. I was introduced to James Brown at 11 yro in '83 when I attended Charlie Daniel's annual Volunteer Jam for charity as can also be seen on here, "Charlie Daniels James Brown volunteer jam." It changed my life!😅 His "It's A Man's World" live will blow you away, though didn't sing in that performance. I don't have all evening, & sure you don't either, but I got STORIEEES!!! friends!😂 Charlie Daniles makes an appearance in that Billy Cox interview I mentioned as well. I got to meet him once not long before he passed. RIP🙏 See ya! ✌🌎❤
We have heard of Bob Dylan. He did All Along the Watchtower. And Cohen hated the fact that Hallelujah got covered so many times. That's about the only thing we know about him.
@@KathyLuluandDonna There's a really good introduction song to Dylan called "Forever Young" you might wanna go ahead & check out before long (STUDIO VERSION, of course!😅). Is a beautiful song anyway, but perfect to send to loved ones on birthdays & other sentimental occasions. Dylan, like Cohen, started out bare-bones with only a acoustic guitar & a mic before adding & expanding their big bands & sounds little by little over the decades. So if you decide to dive into their catalogs I'd suggest you start at the beginning? It warms my heart that you know that about Cohen. He's my all-time fave & I was Blessed to see him live. (Was Blessed to see Dylan 3 times too, once with Willie Nelson!) If you listen to Cohen's first greatest hits, '69-'75(?) I think you'll fall in love immediately! Kurt Cobain sings about it in his song "Pennyroyal Tea"-🎶 "Give me Leonard Cohen afterworld" 🎶 Just some stories & suggestions, friends. But you do you, of course, & I'll try & see y'all there! Hagd🙏❤ ...oh, btw, fyi, if checked that Daniels Brown Volunteer Jam I mentioned, that was same venue they shot last concert scenes for movie "Coal Minor's Daughter"/an excellent must-see if haven't Loretta Lynn bio-pic. I was fortunate to see Loretta once as well! (RIP🙏). Will get to your Loretta vid when get a min!🤘😎
Dagmar has made some good suggestions. My personal favorites of these are "Uneasy Rider" and "Legend of Wooley Swamp". Fun reaction. I'm gad you found this version to react to. This was his signature song and there are many videos of him performing this song over his career, but this one is especially impressive.
Can you check out " Wherever she is" by John Schneider, please? John Schneider used to play Bo Duke on the Dukes of Hazzard and Johnathan Kent on Smallville and has been on many other shows and started singing in the 80s.
I enjoyed your reaction. I don't know if the world is ready, but I would love to see you both react to Nightwish, live at Wacken 2013, Ghost Love Score. It is one of the most reacted to videos on the internet, and you will grow your channel tremendously with the Nightwish Army joining in your journey. You will be amazed.

It's a great song
Charlie Daniels was one of the best country rock performers ever. RIP Charlie 🙏

All the songs on Dagmar's list works for me. Enjoy
The song is about a fiddle dud
