Thanks Man!
Thank you so much ❤️
[You asked] Here is mine character, named chipku... I am making it as open-source blender mascot.... Give me little opinion....
ruclips.net/video/1WM5eav-zNo/видео.html
What program did you use to make the faces?
yes ...how did you make the faces ?
9:44
Finally, a blender master who doesn't annihilate/murder/kill/disown/delete the default cube
Hahaha
Some of the best tutorials, you make them easily digestible, fun and simple. I actually got skillshare because of you and your courses on there.
Wow, this character is beautiful. I love the claymation look, and the color scheme and lighting
Thank you 😁
I love the rythm of your tutorials: no hesitation, no innecesary filling... just THANKS!
Thanks!
This is EXACTLY what I needed and was wondering about, as someone who is just now learning Blender. Thank you SO much!
Happy to help!
Where are the faces
@@SimplytheHobbyist I hope u already found out where they are since it says its been a year since u posted this comment but the faces links are in his pinned comment
Love this clay look you're using, I know I'm in for a useful lesson anytime I see it!
I cant believe you cracked it! I've been looking for a workflow to use images for facial features and animate it and finally found something! thank you so much!!
You're welcome 😁
This video is super useful and precise.
I have been wondering for a long time how you create such a stylized character with such eyes while modeling low poly.
Thank you a lot for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks for watching
I love this tutorial, it's really been a game changer for me. Thank you!
This helps for both 2D and 3D animation! Thank you!
This tutorial helped me so much!! Ive been looking for something like this for ages now!
Glad ii could help ☺️
Wow that is awesome i really love that kind of short animation . Good job by the way
thank you!
This sounds really helpful! I'm new to blender and have recent begun work on a Benson character from Regular show and was wonder how to do the animation of his face, thanks fro the video!
Glad it helped
Wow great tutorial! Looking forward to seeing more content from you man, keep up the good work!
Thank you!
That frame is so freaking awesome!
Haha thanks
Tip if when you increment the offset and it doesn't change you might have to move the slider at the bottom to make it change in your view
Personally, I did use a shrink wrap modifier to make my life easier! Thank you so much by the way!
Great :)
Your tutorials are amazing!!! thank you soooo muchh!!!!!!!
This is just FANTASTIC
Thanks!
Thanks for this tutorial. It's been extremely helpful!
Glad you liked it
You just solved a different problem for me. I have been toying with the idea of using time offset modifier as an asset library for my lipsync process. However, the lips kept cycling through the lip shapes...but from your video I was like oh shorts, it's the interpolation 😱 and problem solved now. I can sleep. Thanks for the facial expressions, downloading now... And cheers for 2months free skillshare.
Subscribed!
Glad I could help!
Awesome tutorial man you made me subscribe. Looking forward to see more awesome tutorials from you. 👍🏽😁

Thanks~ Your tutorial is very helpful to me
You are awesome 👍❣️ thanks for sharing resources files these helps in learning fast
Thank you for commenting 😁
Excited to try this tonight for my character needed to know how to do this hope this goes well
Good luck!
Immediately giving this a like even though I haven't watched it all the way through yet but I'm already liking what I'm seeing, been wanting to find out properly how to do faces and youtube gives me something decent for once finally, next step would be to give a 2.8 tutorial on a full 3D face rig.
Awesome, glad you like it
An alternative way of accomplishing the process of matching the image with the face geometry is by using a shrinkwrap modifier, it works really well and saves time. If it clips into the object you set it to just mess around with the offset. Great tutorial! Now I know how to animate the faces [:
6:13 to make this job easy and perfect, just use the shrinkwrap modifier.
Just what I wanted to learn so I can do a few animations for Instagram!
thanks SouthernShotty!
Glad I could help
This is a really fantastic video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Learned a new great thing, thank you so much :)
Glad I could help!
Helped a lot thankyou!
Thaaank your so much!! For sharing and help us!! :DDD
Perfect, thank you.
Thank you !
Thank you so much I really apreaciate your time to teach
Thank you for the nice comment
@@SouthernShotty You have teached me a lot bro, I will start making a youtube series with what I learned with your videos and I wanna show you how good teacher you are
Thanks man
You're a genius, man
you are an amazing tutor thank you very much u saved my day :P
Thank you!
Awesome tutorial!!
Glad you liked it!
Hey, I used your face animation thing for my characters but you actually can add an empty and make a simple driver setup with "copy as a new driver" feature so you could just scrub through faces right in 3d view by moving an empty up and down and don't have shader editor opened.
That's a cool way to do it as well :)
Thanks so much this is so fun
You are so welcome!
Could you do a tutorial on how you added the hair physics? Love the way it jiggles as the character bobs his head up and down
Helpful! Waiting on the pack
pinned comment :)
Thanks for your great tutorial!!! I have a question: in the tutorial you talk about use a stencil for the face. I know how a stencil works. But how dus it work with a sequence?
you're my hero
Thanks for the nice comment!
THANK YOU!
You're welcome!
omg thanks !!
I'm going to be making an attempt at Katamari Damacy skits and short films once I get a Computer at or near Christmas time; The characters have flat faces aside from their noses, so this technique is in mind for how I'll animate the face!
Those games are funny
@@SouthernShotty Yes!!! They're my favorite games I've ever played besides LittleBigPlanet and I just love the characters and challanges!
Big thanks 😊👍
You're welcome
great thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you for the comment
Earlier today I was contemplating exactly about this and wondered how to google this effectively.
This is what's used in Animal Crossing and Zelda Wind Waker for example, right?
Glad I could help
Yup! It's also used in Pokemon
Very useful stuff, question - at 8:40 would it have been any different just turning the Specular down to 0 on the original Principled BSDF node?
You're amazing
I’m subscribed to your yt and instagram but I only have blender 2.79 because I use my parents old laptop... but when I get a computer, and blender 2.82, I’m going straight to this channel! XD
Good luck
i dont know but i feel that you can install 2.8 cuz eevee will demand you less than what cycles do in term of speed, am using a surface go that it pretty close to a phone ahhahhah, anywas just give it a try to 2.82
I’m using a 2013 MacBook Air El Capitan... 2.82 is too much for it :(
That sheet is D O P E!
Thanks!
NICE tutorial mate thanks !!
anyway how to apply this animation face into multiple character? i always got same expression when use on multiple character. thanks
Hi! I was wondering if yo could answer my question. When applying all the faces to my plane and setting them to image sequence, my offset is set to -1, and when I set everything to 1 and try to move the offset up it won't show my other faces, do you might know how to fix this?
very good tut mate ✨ but i have a question: how would u make multiple animations with this method ? are there any better ones for this problem ?
nice!!!
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for this...
I love your Tutorials bro!!!
Glad you liked it!
I'm in love with this man !!
hahahaha
Yes, his art style is so perfect for my 2 autistic grandchildren. I get so many ideas of vids to make for them. This is so on point for both!
THANK YOU SOUTHERNSPHOTTY
You're welcome 😁
Thankyu bro finally Ican rig face
Glad I could help
they are not showing key frame on timeline so how can i make constant them plz help and reply.
I will try it immediately.😃😃
Good luck 😁
if i apply subdivision surface modifier, it looks like it added more vertex but when i go into edit mode, its still a cube
this was uploaded on my birthday
Happy birthday
Great tutorial! I'm trying to do something similar for my character, although i kinda do have to make the geometry fit with my character's face. Is there something i could use to do it faster or is meticulously arranging the vertex the only way to go?
He said it in the video, use the shrink-wrap modifier.
Thank for the Tutorial...
You're welcome
Finally I can do 2D face rig
Thank you!! :D
you're welcome!
@@SouthernShotty :D
SUPER!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you so much,I would like to ask, for example, after importing a sequence of 100 pictures, I copied 100 planes along the z-axis, how can I map the 100 pictures one by one on the 100 planes in order, in order, from the bottom to the top , 1234567....., can this be done?
Instead of using an image-as-plane or shrink wrap modifier, you could create a second UV map and project-from-view that cute ol' face onto the head. Should look a little better from all angles, you won't need to worry about shadows, and it'll render faster.
May i ask how you do that? will it be like faces from the games tales of symphonia kind of faces?
@@happyc6770 It'll look the same as SouthernShotty's animation, but you could use the method to create any face you so desired.
This tutorial touches on using additional UV maps for textures.
ruclips.net/video/OzaUO_s5Syo/видео.html
@@ryancaldwell5377 thank you so much=)
This is actually what I do on my own personal work, however I have to cater to a beginner audience on youtube and I've had people struggle with UVs a lot in my past tutorials - so double UVs sounds even harder haha But thanks for sharing the link with the community!
Great video! Really helpful. Although, I am having trouble with keeping the face fixed to a moving animation. Basically face is moving fine but doesn't stay attached to the character, when the character moves. Is there anything I have missed or would this involve another method?
Did you parent it to the body?
nice tutorial
very usefull thanks
Thanks for watching
Can you tell me how I can save image sequence animation as action for later use?
Good vid but you can also just use the shrink-wrap modifier to get the face on
It doesn't work great with displacement that I use for clay looks
Thank you very much for this, this is really great!
Do you have any idea why my texture doesn't apply on the Metaball (hair)? Works fine for the rest...
Thanks!
Ok I changed the texture coordinate from Window and changed the color ramp to white and it's a little bit better :D
I love you, like for real and really love you. thank you for this tutorial now finally i can be creative and strat my NFT project to make some money because i'm a pooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor man lol
How to duplicate the whole group to a new group? I wanted to create 2 head but when i change the face, the original changed too :(
hey uhh my textures just turns purple ( missing texure ) is there any solution for this?
Cool! tnx :)
Welcome 😁
Hello, i was just wondering how you got the sparkle in the eyes to remain white, while the background of the face remains as an alpha channel. this wasnt covered in the tutorial but i noticed during the intro clip that the characters eyes have white "sparkle" bits but that effect isnt explained in the tutorial. Thanks!
Can you export the image texture offset animation as an FBX?
Any way to make it with eevee??
PD. your skillshare courses are amazing!!!
Omg this totorial help ALOT thank you
but for my blender i see nothing like yours under Visibility
I only see 3 options:
Selectable
Viewports
Renders
Plz help
cool technique
Thanks Derek!
Thanks for this tutorial! Just one question, how was it possible to keep the white dots on the eyes as the alpha was being applied?
I painted white into the textures. I left alpha on for the download link in case people didn't want it
Hello . Once again this tutorial is awesome . I have a question. How did u add this material on Metalball object? I have created the same material after watching the others tutorials but the metaball are simply glossing :D thx and great Regards
Added it and used object instead of uv map on mapping mode.
Do you know how I could get this face-rig into it's own editable object in unreal engine? I have a cinematic timeline opened, but I want to be able to type a number to get a face depending on the character
Nice! Now I can make Pikachu look relieved after pooping.
How to disable shadow of 'Image as planes' in Eevee engine ?
This is really
Coool 😎
I was nervous
Quick Q for you. When I reload a blender file, with a 'face' png series, and sometimes if I leave for a bit, the png turns into an opaque square. When I go into the shading tab, then re-point to the image, it's fine again. Do you get this sometimes? Might it be a naming error, or if I have the pngs in a different sub-folder?
hello i got a problem. when i add another keyframe it plays every face what is before the face i choosed
