Actually Angus McFife is swiss. Yea, he's not a pirate. Not at all, he is a chaos wizard. Yep. Btw their real names are Thomas Laszlo Winkler - Vocals (Angus McFife, Crown Prince of Dundee, Heir to the Kingdom of Fife) James Cartwright - Bass (Hootsman, Barbarian Warrior of Unst) Paul Templing - Guitars (Ser Proletius, Grand Master of the Templar Knights of Crail) Ben Turk - Drums (Ralathor, the Mysterious Hermit of Cowdenbeath) Christopher Bowes - Keyboards (Zargothrax, Dark Sorcerer of Auchtermuchty - his main job is a pirate captain in the ship named Alestorm tho. :P )
How am I only discovering these guys now? Their songs are pretty much the LARP games my neighborhood friends and I used to play as kids. They would get more and more bizarrely epic as the year went on. We never fought zombie unicorns, or sorcerer's on the moon though. Instead we fought Zombie Jocks at the North Pole, had to lay siege to a trailer park to kill a Redneck Barbarian tribe. And invaded North Korea because it turned out the regime there was a front for interdimensional creatures with a base on Uranus. We never reached Gloryhammer levels of epic.
When the Golden Age of Piracy comes to an end... so you become a Chaos Wizard instead. Is that really "Cosmic Infinity" coursing through your veins, or is it rum?
This is some real powerful "drunken" galactic "pirate" metal. You know, when you listen at Alestorm for too much time, Gloryhammer pops up next and you're like wtf is this? Then you can't stop getting high and smashing things with hammers.

I think the band's name is not even cheesy-epic enough for their music.. They actually should be called : "The Thunderstiking Mighty Hammer Of The Immortal Holy Dragon's Scorching Breath Of Unending Fiery Glory Is Firmly Raised To The Heavens By The Furious Northern Warrior's Unshakable Pride-Fueled Arm As He Now Defiantly Stands Alone As The Last Of His Untamable Wild-Hearted Kind On The Open Field Seperating The Only Remaining Refuge Of The Elves From The Countless Approaching Dark Armies Of The Underworld With His Head Held High And Only Justice And Honor Crossing His Mind, While Suddenly The Fate Of The Free World Is Unsealed Once Again In The Heart Of The People As They Are Now Blinded By The Bright Flash Of Light Emanating From The Ancient Weapon Of The Gods, A Sight That Can Only Mean It Judged The Courageous Warrior's Cause To Be Righteous And Accepts To Guide Him Towards His Epic Destiny"
+Guillaume Beauchesne They're an affectionate parody, not a pisstake one. I'd expect S.O.D. to do a power metal song called that, though.
wont fit on album cover
zhaDe Sounds like the plot of a rhapsody of fire album (multiple )
They can't, already a Bal Sagoth's song title (or pretty close to it).
Or as they abreviate in today's youth: TTMHOTIHDSBOUFGIFRTTHBTFNWUPFAAHNDSAATLOHUWHKOTORROTEFTCADAOTUWHHHHAOJAHCHMWSTFOTFWIUOAITHOTPATANBBTBFOLEFTAWOTGASTCOMIJTCWCTBRAATGHTHED" Took me actually the whole song's lenght to type this and looks welsh :D
this is the best thing i've seen in my life.
i'm crying right now.
Me too!
I'm crying from my special place ._.
+Tomos chappington LOL XD
tears of joy
"SANCTUS DOMINUS!
INFERNUS AD ASTRA!"
That's the Battlecry of my Space-Marine-Chapter
Yes, I can see my grey knights chanting that.
@@jamieclassen6206Translate it though, and you see it's really more of a chaos marine chant.
I swear to god napalm records do all of the best bands. Like Alestorm for example
+Ian Hicks I feel like all the napalm powermetal bands are probably buddies that drink and fuck around together
Napalm really does have the best bands, especially power metal bands.
And Sabaton? They are in nuclear blast records.
DerDiktatorischeWeltherrscherYagami I was gonna say, Nuclear Blast is nothing to sneeze at either. I feel like Napalm & Nuclear Blast should merge & make the most badass record label name ever: Nuclear Napalm Records
Hammerfall has been on both!
Next time someone asks me what power metal is, I'm sending them this video
its called "intergalactic space metal" if you ask google about gloryhammer :D
just in case ;)
"This DnD session will be a chill one. I don´t think any shenanigans will happen"
The DnD session in question:
Since that is Christopher Bowes, that means he is now a Magic wielding Space Pirate.
yes
the new pirates of the caribian looks awesome
be honest, who the fuck dont want to be a magic wielding space pirate? :O
yes he may be a Magic wielding Space pirate but your forgetting he traveled through time so that would make him a Time travelling Magic wielding space pirate.
You all forgot he's a heavy metal pirate so it's Time travelling Magic wielding Heavy metal space pirate
The chorus to this song gives me goosebumps like no other song has in a loooooong time
Thank you for all Thomas :( I'm still in shock Gloryhammer fired you from the band. Don't give up and stand with the same energy. Greetings from South America.
They fired him! I though he left to pursue his own career. Wow
And now he's back, and it's epic
This album and the one that came before it actually follow a concise story and I would love to see them both made into epic fantasy movies that are also musicals using the songs from the albums.
Hell im becoming a filmmaker to make fantasy and sci fi movies and these would be fantasy/sci-fi blend movies. I'm going to do it. These albums will be made into movies.
Please do. I would love to see them.
Cole Thomas do not bet your own money to this
I remember seeing an interview where Chris Bowes(zargothrax) said he had 21 albums planned for Gloryhammer, 3 saga's of 7, So if he keeps his word we can expect another 5 albums of Angus McFife
oh like that anime with that daft punk album ?
the new green lantern movie looks great
Much better than the first.
I love how Angus slides slightly on the ground just before he swings his hammer at @3:36.
This is so metal, my beard grew a beard.
My beard grew a metal beard. It can deflect small arms fire.
All these replies are great😂
It's the Mighty Morphin Power Metal Rangers!
Featuring The Green Iron Lantern!
space wizard giving powers to a group of people that devotedly fight the eval wisard for him > ,., >(\ wow it is a lot like mighty morphing powerranders
Kamen Rider Power Metal 😄
8years after i discover this song and fell in love with it!
I like how this band was made by a group of already established metal artists who just decided to have a fun side project that fans were so enamored with that it became it's own thing
pretty sure the singer wasn't metal artist before, wasn't he? he mentioned that zargothrax asked him if he wanted to be their singer (having seen a presentation video of his skillz), and the first text is about the unicorn invasion of dundee, so he joined :D
@@johnuferbach9166 Tommy auditioned for Dragonforce, that's how Chris found him. Don't know if he's been in other bands before but he was a metalhead at least
Christopher Bowes cannot be serious for one minute and I love it
Imagine if Peter Jackson took the lore of Gloryhammer to make a movie
PLEASE
That would be a good movie
Saw them yesterday for the first time with Hammerfall.
Instant fan.
Glory hammer & hammer fall? That promoter has got a hardware fetish.
Gloryhammerfall?
Stop, My Astral hammer can only get so erect!!!!
Gloryhammerfall
Ok... I give up..... that´s just GLORYYYYYOUS!
You mean like the Power Quest song?
+Der Wolf With a hammer.
jnconick183 Oh Yessss
+Der Wolf you mean... gloryhammerous.
Blockio1999 You, Sir, deserve more then one +. :D
When you wanna summon Lord Zargothrax at 8 but got your band concert at 9.
So what we have here is Space King Arthur, Conan the Barbarian, Skeletor, Gandalf the Grey, and the doctor from Star Trek Voyager? I'm good with it
Funny you mention Conan. One of the characters in this album is basically Arnold Schwarzenegger if he actually *was* both Conan and the Terminator in real life. The Hollywood Hootsman was a barbarian who conquered California a thousand years before the time the album takes place, became king, also became a successful actor, and a cyborg powered by a neutron star.
@@BroadwayRonMexico and now a full on god
"I will destroy the universe" *After a timeout in an ice cube for a thousand years to think about what he had tried to do and why it was bad* " "I will still destroy the universe. and if I can't, I will establish myself as a god in a different universe"
Nah, ol' Z just wanted to warm up after 1000 years in frozen liquid ice. I hear it's quite cold, you know.
Vocals: Angus McFife XIII
Guitar: The Hollywood Hootsman
Bass: Proletius
Drums: Ralathor
Keyboard: Zagorthrax

@@darthtommy4182 Crown Prince of Dundee Angus McFife XIII
but yessa, its the Hootsman on the bass and Proletius on the guitar
That frontmam looks like he can become *the Master of IKEA.*
@@ThreeStoryMaze you mean he can create exit with his email right?
Damn, infinity war looks great
With Angus out of Gloryhammer, galaxy is in real danger now. Damn Zargothrax, he did it.
What?
This song wins the next 30 years of epic music.
I feel like it's impossible for these guys to go too ridiculous.
1st Viewing: That guy singing the lyrics sure does pronounce things oddly
2nd Viewing: Oh I see why, I bet he's scottish
3rd through 1000th+ Viewing: Why can't more people sing like this?
Actually Angus McFife is swiss. Hootsman (the one who checked his beard right after the escape of the ice) is from Wales, Ser Proletius (the guitarist, Hoots is bassist) is from the U.K. (sry, can't find closer), Ralathor (the drummer) is from the U.K. as well, and the evil sorcerer Zargothrax is from the caribbean... i mean, from Scotland. Yea, he's not a pirate. Not at all, he is a chaos wizard. Yep. Btw their real names are
Thomas Laszlo Winkler - Vocals (Angus McFife, Crown Prince of Dundee, Heir to the Kingdom of Fife)
James Cartwright - Bass (Hootsman, Barbarian Warrior of Unst)
Paul Templing - Guitars (Ser Proletius, Grand Master of the Templar Knights of Crail)
Ben Turk - Drums (Ralathor, the Mysterious Hermit of Cowdenbeath)
Christopher Bowes - Keyboards (Zargothrax, Dark Sorcerer of Auchtermuchty - his main job is a pirate captain in the ship named Alestorm tho. :P )
Péter Ring Good to know, thanks for the exhaustive info :D
Poor lizardman just wanted to ask for an autograph
Yosef
Is that a seraphon
That's goblin
Now they're officially the best band in space!
Yeah!
Yeah!
+Lunä I see what you did there
+Pascal Bauweraerts Jahaa! Gloryhammer ist halt der ... Hammer! *badumm-tiss* ^^
+Lunä Speshh*
How am I only discovering these guys now?
Their songs are pretty much the LARP games my neighborhood friends and I used to play as kids. They would get more and more bizarrely epic as the year went on. We never fought zombie unicorns, or sorcerer's on the moon though.
Instead we fought Zombie Jocks at the North Pole, had to lay siege to a trailer park to kill a Redneck Barbarian tribe. And invaded North Korea because it turned out the regime there was a front for interdimensional creatures with a base on Uranus.
We never reached Gloryhammer levels of epic.
I thought this song is about wizards getting bigger salary. I was wrong.
The way he wrestles with that thing reminds me of star trek with kirk and gorn.
LMAO
I like to think it's a reference
me too!
When I hear "FOR THE KING WE WILL RIDE..." I could kick a door off its hinges..
Omg yes same, me too!!
Heroic fantasy power metal mixed with 80s action movie = More fun, than you can ever imagine!
2:13 The most metal hug of all time.
They should have changed their name **Gloryjammer 40K** for this space themed album
Pop music: cheap videos and bad music
Metal music: Epic videos and bad-ass music
Gloryhammer is awesome!
pop music same chords over and over again. C G Am F
HA HA true
So very true
rap music : poems.
Virgin music and chad music
When the Golden Age of Piracy comes to an end... so you become a Chaos Wizard instead.
Is that really "Cosmic Infinity" coursing through your veins, or is it rum?
Why is all the rum gone?
This is some real powerful "drunken" galactic "pirate" metal.
You know, when you listen at Alestorm for too much time,
Gloryhammer pops up next and you're like wtf is this?
Then you can't stop getting high and smashing things with hammers.
iron latern of dundee
Well, Dundee is actually in Angus... eh forget it.
The new Ironman looks to be taking his role pretty seriously.
These guys are the last band I saw live before the pandemic happened. I went there with my boyfriend and my older brother. They thought I was overdressed, but all three of us turned out to be underdressed. Good times :.)
just discovered this band a month ago and i gotta say its one of the best things that ive ever heard! pure fucking orgasmic power metal
Looks like a bunch of videos game came together and formed a metal band, pure cheese but I dig it!
This is the music I will raise my children on lol. Thank you Gloryhammer 🧙♂️✊
GloryHammer is what happens when Nerds make Power Metal. It is GLORIOUS.
the best way I can describe this band:
Dungeon master: Dude... Bards are a support class!
Angus McFife: Hold my beer...
I’d say it’s a Paladin/Bard. Since they both use Charisma as their casting stat it works well.
@@paulmahoney7619 Pallys cast from charisma? I thought all divine casters cast from wisdom?
@@Aschwartz14 A direct quote from the 5e player's handbook, bottom of page 84 and top of page 85: "Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your paladin spells, since their power derives from the strength of your convictions."
I love how their songs are all connected. Great band. D&D campaigns should all be this epic!
I love it!
"The intergalactic great empire of Fife will die" is a mouthful of a lyric.
Rise of the Chaos Wizards more like Rise of my Massive Erection.
Hahahahahauha. xD
+Clubbing Seal Cub True that my friend, 25th of September will be a great day this year :D
+Clubbing Seal Cub that would be Coleus Sanctus by Powerwolf
+Ignis King best song
Jausch120 Try their new stuff, it's pretty good too.
I think it's so cool that they're authentic. No green screens!
WHAT
The cheesiest power metal band has got even cheesier. Power Metal, IN SPACE !!
And it's glorious laddy
You never heard of Lucca Turilli then haha
Honestly I thought it would be impossible to get cheesier than an invasion of undead unicorns on a Scottish town turned heart of an empire.
But somehow they did.
Cheesy is still better than whatever you wanna call Twilight Force... But I still like them though. XD
Honestly this is cheesier, but whatever. Both bands are great!
Been listening to this song for about a month now, I'm only now noticing that Christopher Bowes is Zargothrax.
dude.
how
I noticed that immediately but I have an unhealthy obsession with alestorm
Nobody:
Absolutely no-one:
Nobody in the entire galaxy:
Zargothrax: *instantly summons keyboard and sequencer out of any nearby materials*
These guys are real wizards .. I only heard two songs from the new album and I already know it's going to be my favourite one!!! Hail mighty Angus McFife!!
LOL, WHERE AM I?!

+theneedledrop Please make Cal do a power metal track.
+theneedledrop This is the true glory of Power Metal. Review this album!
R0DisG0D Are you sure you want to see this album get ripped apart by a solid to light 5? Or just what Glorythony Holetano has to say about power metal? Tbh both would be pretty entertaining.

I would enjoy a review and I always love to hear people complaining about how cheesy the genre is (that's what I love however).
this is not only the classic and epic powermetal, this is like SPACE OPERA POWERMETAL i love it¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

It looked more like Vietnam to me.

Sanctus dominus
Infernus ad astra
Sanctus dominus
Infernus ad astra
Sanctus dominus
Infernus ad astra
Sanctus dominus
Infernus ad astra
Across the galaxy a new force of evil is rising
Wizards of Chaos fight to dethrone the brave king of Dundee
Entwined by mystic spells, they know where the sorcerer hidden
Imprisoned in ice on the planet of Knights, the powerful heroes of Crail
Aeons of warfare returning
No longer peace will survive
The intergalactic great Empire of Fife will die
[Chorus]
For the king we will ride
Through the dark galactic skies
To defeat the foes
When the Chaos Wizards rise
Now the universe will burn
Evil sorcerer returns
Tragic fate rages tonight
Chaos Wizard rise
Sanctus dominus
Infernus ad astra
Sanctus dominus
Infernus ad astra
Ten centuries ago brave heroes defeated the wizard
Now Chaos reigns and evil returns to the kingdom of Fife
Wizard cultists rage - on dark wings of steel they are flying
To space they must go, great terror they sow, nothing can stand in their way
The Space Knights of Crail are defeated
The fortress of Triton is lost
Zargothrax rises once more from his prison of frost
[Chorus]
[spoken]
And lo, after centuries of frozen slumber I am free once more
Cosmic infinity courses through my veins
My body is ablaze with astral terror
The galaxy shall once again tremble before the might of Zargothrax
Sanctus dominus
Infernus ad astra
Sanctus dominus
Infernus ad astra
[Chorus]
Rise!
Fantastic band. Everything is fantastic. Definitely a fan
"Alright, we need a suit of armor for Angus XIII, but our costume budget is completely spent, and the costume designer already went home. Any ideas?"
"I got my Iron Man costume from last Halloween and some green paint"
"You're a goddamn genius and a lifesaver"
Usually I really don't like heavymetal, but Gloryhammer's totally over the top cheesyness with a wink, combined with just perfect execution of the genre, makes it awesome. I started finding it funny and now I really enjoy em! It's also great music to play when playing RPG's :)
I have absolutely no idea whats happening in this music video and IS THIS SONG ABOUT SPACE WIZARDS?!?!?!?! SO METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love how they stay true ot the lore and have the same homie playing the evil wizard in every music video
See you later Thomas, Gloryhammer won't really ever be the same...
I keep returning here. Damn I love this song.
