What you felt when you heard the music was so close to real meaning behind ,interpretation of Rumi's poems is so hard even in persian ,and words doesn't have the meaning that they seem ,but here sohrab and homayun are trying to creat the feeling behind his poem

In this complicated and profound poem Rumi is describing his deep and mystical emotions and spiritual perceptions and intuitions. Sea of blood means the sorrow of love that shattered his soul and egocentricity like a ship. Desert means vanishing of sorrow and turning it into joyfulness after inner freedom of egocentricity. Neither sea nor desert means the lack of fealing and lack of every mood and insight with no determinate and restriction, this may be the ultimate spiritual stage that a mystic can experience internally.

The poetic aspect of Persian language is extremely involved with metaphor, and even for native speakers is hard to understand all the meaning behind its words. And you're right in some cases it's too deep to understand, especially Rumi!
In this Poem by Rumi, the sea or ocean is referring to the the Love of God which can not be measured or understand by Man, Also it refers to the knowledge of God that can be received by Man via Drinking it. When Man get some of the God's knowledge, his / her body from head to the toe starts to be destroyed like a ship hited by heavy waves of the sea, this is unavoidable if Man wants to know the secrets of the life, he shall rebuild his believes and mind , at the end he realize that everything is an illusion there is nothing but God. We are only see our life and the world because we are trapped in the Time. If we reach to the No-time and No-natter stage of creation we will totally understand what Rumi is trying to inform us.
Translate lyrics is : How did I know this love would drive me crazy like this? How do I know, I ask myself several times but I do not know Because I drank a little of the sea of love. Means love is like a big and unbelievable sea and I just got a little bit of it

When I listen to this song, my soul cry's and I don't know why
you remember in Sanama reaction you did not know what was the instrument that Sohrab Pournazeri was playing? for most parts in this track the solos you here are from that very same instrument called "Kamanche", Kamanche and Shah Kaman are two Iranian instruments that you can hear legit tracks from Keyhan Kalhor playing it.
I can always understand that a random poet is for Rumi or not his poems makes you feel and try to sing with it. There's always a big wow after all of his poems

You have to look at all the poems and remember the symbols to understand the poem. When it says that I ate from this sea from this sea, the sea is a symbol of knowledge in this poem and as much as we can eat from it is a symbol of as much as we can learn.

About poème just follow the words its kinda surrealistic poem: he is in blood sea then break through by typhoon at that awful situation a whal drinks all the water of sea! Its so surreal! The sea turn to the desert! The music support this chaotic situation and gives anxiety! Actually, he just started loving(knowing) about god but at the end he find out he knows nothig and as a part (human) he doesn't able to understand whole ( god) so kinda philosophy it's not the end there is no definitive answer!

The meaning of Love in persian poems is the way human connects with the God which is the opposit of using intellect to communicate. If you are interested to understand Persian poems better, you would find very useful information in "Erfan Halgheh" 's references. But, it's impossible to understand all the detailed aspects of farsi in translations. Any other language is the same I suppose. We, Iranians have so much to tell to the world bro 😊
