I've been using these on my TSX for 3 years/30k miles of mixed driving of highway and city driving. I still have plenty of pad material left, more half! It brakes so well.
If I told you how many miles I got out of Akebono pads on my 3/4 ton HD you wouldn't believe it. The truck does have quality rotors to match these fantastic pads.
Hello ! Thank you for your helpful video. Can you tell me what's the name of the tool you use (the black box with lights) to verify torque with a conventional wrench, please ? You put it between the wrench and the screw when you put caliper slides back at 28:04. Regards
Digital torque adapter from Harbor Freight but you can use any similar tool. www.harborfreight.com/12-in-drive-25-250-ft-lb-digital-torque-adapter-58706.html
i just put some AKEBONO PROACT CERAMIC PADS on my car and i did like them on how they stop it was wrost than oem so took them off and put in some hawk hps and return the AKEBONO PROACT CERAMIC PADS back to where i bought them form
They wont be any difference if there was no break in process and if the same rotors were used. With new rotors and broken in there will be a huge difference. In fact there must be a difference.
You need a fluid flush !! Open your bleeders and let it drain while replacing with clean DOT 3 until you see clean DOT 3 , Close your bleeders and start bleeding
Hello , Im a female going to try to do my own brakes w/my dad. Im researching all kinds of stuff & I havent came across this information. So what do u exactly mean pump the brakes? 😅😅
@@Qkfltpdls777 ASP is regarded as the higher performance variant. However, I haven't noticed a difference in daily driving. I have used them both and you can't go wrong with either.
Is it easy to break a sway bar link whilst changing out control arms and axles? We just changed these out and now I have that thunking sound when I turn corners.
@@memopadilla5931 The pads are still working great, highly recommended! Akebono ceramic pads don't product that much dust. Fortunately, I haven't had to do much hard braking so I can't say if these are much better than the previous Akebono set but they're definitely still good!
@@kelvinsgarage Yeah I need to be sure these have much extra bite over my current Akebono act regular pads.. It is between these and Raybestos Eht hybrid pads.. You are a great mechanic dude.. you are very talented.
Why even put on a new brake pad if you're just gonna use the stock rotor? Here, I thought you was gonna be replacing the whole rotor and brake pad with an upgraded rotor and new brake pad. It just defeats spending good money on a new pad that is not gonna sit flush with the worn stock rotor. You better off just buying a stock brake pad.

I switched over to these once I heard Scotty Kilbird talk about them.
And what's your experience ?.

they need to be driven on to properly break them in
@@kelvinsgarage no they dont, akebono ceramics do not require breakin according to akebono themselves
I have a 06 civic(non si) that has rear disc breaks, are those similar to what you showed here or is there some differences I'd need to know?
Any noticeable difference. Between the pro act and performance series?

I think about grease need to be used only on moving parts, which is the sides of brake pads🤔

Was the caliper grease you used different from the quiet break grease you used?
I used the same grease
Don’t forget to pump your brakes before driving the car
Hello , Im a female going to try to do my own brakes w/my dad. Im researching all kinds of stuff & I havent came across this information. So what do u exactly mean pump the brakes? 😅😅
it just means step on the brakes a few times to start the fluid flowing back into the caliper.

Difference not noticeable and too many other factors (new vs worn pads, tire pressure, etc).

They break over time and I think that’s normal regardless of changing out the suspension components.

Hi sir im little bit confuse dont know where to apply the grease in shim, i watch youtube some of them put grease outside of shim, some inside?
Where the pads corners makes contact with the shim is the most important area but it doesn’t hurt to put it elsewhere
