      The thing about animal farm is that on the surface it can be enjoyed by children as a relatively simple story about some farm animals. And by adults and teens it can be read as a story about revolution and dictatorships by drawing parallels to actual events in history.

      It's more about political corruption in general. It's not anti-socialist since the initial rebellion is portrayed in a heroic light and it's only after Napoleon's power grab that things get worse.

    • @TheDauphine1

      George Orwell, the author of the novel, was a socialist. The point of the story is how any political ideology can be corrupted, even if you would otherwise agree with it.

    • @WomenCallYouMoid
      @WomenCallYouMoid 6 месяцев назад

      So no one falls for incorrect info: "In a letter to Yvonne Davet, Orwell described Animal Farm as a satirical tale against Stalin ("un conte satirique contre Staline"),[7] and in his essay "Why I Write" (1946), wrote that Animal Farm was the first book in which he tried, with full consciousness of what he was doing, "to fuse political purpose and artistic purpose into one whole". Trotsky supported Permanent Revolution (just as Snowball advocated overthrowing other farm owners), while Stalin supported socialism in one country (similar to Napoleon's idea of teaching the animals to use firearms, instead). When it seems Snowball will win the election for his plans, Napoleon calls in the dogs he has raised to chase Snowball from the farm. This is the first time the dogs have been seen since Napoleon took them in and raised them to act as his secret police, something irl Napoleon didn't do. Napoleon could be ruthless & an egomaniac, but he wasn't cruel sadistic secret police Stalin & he did bring positivities. Orwell's animal farm, the basis of the movie, has a pig called Napoleon, believed to be more as a comparision/allegory of Stalin as a fat pig "indistinguishable to a man" at the end & similair to Napoleon in tyranny. This ain't theory, we know it's about the Russian revolution, & from that we can tell the pig is a mockery of Stalin.
      Orwell was, unfortunately, a social democrat, & a harsh anti-communist & anti-stalinist. Now for those who don't get it, communism = violent, r@pey revolution by usually an egomaniac minority & social democrat = crazy socialism, but atleast democratic & voluntary.
