You would love working on my duramax lb7. Especially with the bolts on the back side of the cooler. My truck has a 3" body lift and it makes a bunch of room in the back of the motor and everything up the truck. I watch some of these RUclips videos and feel back for how difficult stuff is at times. Till I go work on mine and how much access the truck has. It's freaking awesome. 😅
Why did he have to take it out to pressure test the cooler. He should have been able to do that in place. Just needed accesss to the two coolant hoses?
You could pressure test it in the vehicle but to access the hose in the middle is a pain in the butt and plus its not usually a egr cooler leak on these trucks , its almost always a head gasket so i dont charge to remove and test it if we do the head gaskets . I inform the customer that its a 99% chance its the headgaskets so they dont have unreal expectations.
my lb7 cooler has an external leak my fear is buying the part but not being able to complete the job,I know most shops dont like customer provided parts...in this scenario would you guys be able to bail me out if it was towed in?,best price I could find is from dales super store for 650 bucks...
The title of your video should be what you are doing in the video. In this case " EGR cooler removal and pressure test 6.6L 2500 Chevy HD " Your videos are good and your camera work is good and you offer lots of good tips but you are hidden because of your title choices.
I actually watched this video because I'm afraid my head gaskets are shot. I wouldn't have known there was a connection if it had a different title. Maybe add both?
The dirt is from the pcv valve some might be from the filter. Good video

Those body lifts make working on trucks a breeze. The Chevys aren’t too bad but the newer fords are very tight.
