Yeah, I read this book; and it's a good one, but I passovered the chapter about his parents and the holocaust. I particularly liked the story about how, in the early days of the band, he was kicked out of Rush, and then missed a performance by Jimi Hendrix. The first night of Passover, 1970, my late older brother appeared at the L.A. Forum as part of the opening act for Jimi Hendrix (guitarist in the Buddy Miles band). 45 years later, Rush gave their last performance there. I remember watching 'School Of Rock' with my late older brother, the last Christmas before he died.
At his deathbed, the day before he died, along with I was my earliest childhood friend, Jonathan. He's Jewish too. When we were 10 years old, we had a little rock band together. It was Jonathan who told what happened to one of my brother's bass players: Harvey (Brooks) Goldstein). Harvey and my brother recorded three albums together. What happened to Harvey? He made aliyah to Jerusalem. Among Harvey's accomplishments is that he played bass on the original studio version of The Doors' "Touch Me". I wonder if Mr. Gershon Weinrib ever encountered Harvey?
