    Thank you SO MUCH, your video helped me so much to get my LLC registered, so during the process I didn’t added my partner on the business,can I do it now ? And where can I find the file to add the other member ? Thank you in advance

    • @llcuniversity
      @llcuniversity  Год назад

      You're very welcome! The Colorado Articles of Organization actually doesn't ask for Member information. That is not public record. That's private and internal and handled via your LLC's Operating Agreement. So you and the partner can agree to terms, then draft and sign an Operating Agreement together: www.llcuniversity.com/colorado-llc/operating-agreement/

    Can my additional members have the same address? For example if the "Business Address" in the first step is 123 Maple Ave can I have two additional members with that same address?
    Thanks for this by the way, this is amazing, one of the best resources on RUclips!

    • @llcuniversity

      Hey Tim! Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad our resources are helpful! Yes, any additional members can all have the same address, and that address can also be the same as the business/LLC address. Hope that helps! Let me know if you need anything else. By the way, your channel rocks! I have some web dev skills under my belt ;)

    Hi Matt - thank you so much for the videos. RE: the LLC name, if I want to use "Limited" as my designator, and not LLC, does this affect the LLC in any legal way? EG, could I lose my "Limited Liability" somehow if I don't have that in my name? I'm assuming not, since it's formed as an LLC, and since my state Colorado, allows "Limited" to be used as a designator, but it's slightly concerning.

    • @llcuniversity
      @llcuniversity  2 года назад +1

      Hi Dan, you're very welcome! Great question. No, the designator has no impact, so you choose whichever one you'd like. Having said that, it could confuse people/companies, since "Limited" is less common. But that doesn't mean you can't pick that one if you want.

    What do you recommend for maiden name/married name issues. My wife has yet to change her name after getting married. But we don't want to wait to start our LLC, is there a good process for amending her name change after the LLC is already formed? Thank You!

      Hi Jake, what role will she have in the LLC? Just a Member (owner) or will she also be the Registered Agent or the Organizer (the one signing)?

      Hello, you're welcome. Yes, anyone can be the Registered Agent (more info here: www.llcuniversity.com/colorado-llc/registered-agent/). You can add your husband and you as members during the online filing in the attachment section. We have the form for Additional Members which you can download here: www.llcuniversity.com/colorado-llc/forms/. Hope that helps.

    • @llcuniversity

    So if I wait till January I won’t have to file for the 2020 tax year?

    • @llcuniversity
      @llcuniversity  4 года назад

      Yes, correct. You can also file the LLC now, but list a Delayed Effective Date of 1/1/2021 for the same affect to occur. You'd do that when filing the Articles of Organization.

    What if I need to fix or change something on my LLC? How would I do that?

    • @llcuniversity
      @llcuniversity  Год назад +1

      It depends on what it is. If you want to change the Registered Agent, you can file a Statement of Change Changing Registered Agent or update it when you file your annual Periodic Report:
      www.llcuniversity.com/colorado-llc/periodic-report/
      If you want to change most other things, that can also be done during the Periodic Report filing.
      However, if you want to change your LLC name, you need to file an Amended and Restated Articles of Organization. Hope that helps.

    If I’m dissolving an LLC, what steps do I need to take with the EIN?

    • @llcuniversity
      @llcuniversity  3 года назад +1

      Hi Vanessa, after the LLC is dissolved and a final tax return is filed, you can cancel/deactivate the EIN: www.llcuniversity.com/irs/cancel-ein/

    • @vanessamadrid9064

      @@llcuniversity it was a quick turn around so no money was made can I just deactivate it straight away?

    • @llcuniversity
      @llcuniversity  3 года назад

      @@vanessamadrid9064 - Hi Vanessa, it depends. If the LLC is Single-Member LLC, then yes. If the LLC is Multi-Member LLC, the LLC is supposed to file a 1065 Partnership return (a final return) and then you can deactivate the EIN.

    What about "Trade name"? How do I attach a trade name?

    • @llcuniversity
      @llcuniversity  6 лет назад

      hey Siruis, check out do I need a DBA/trade name (www.llcuniversity.com/dba/do-i-need-to-file-a-dba/) - just because a lot of people are confused with them. If you want your LLC to also operate under a Trade Name, form your LLC first, then file your Trade Name online: www.sos.state.co.us/biz/FileDoc.do
