I think you are also helping to perpetuate the stereotypes by keep making it the theme of your videos.What you could do to counter is go to some nice ghettos and show the world that not all our ghettos look that ugly.You could have all so went to different parts of Spanish town such as ' the historical district,St Jago heights ,GC Foster to dispell some of the rumours.What you are doing is reinforcing the stereotypes by repeating and hyper-focusing.You offend Jamaicans if they think you pitty them.

You bravely went against all family concerns and travelled your path. It overwhelms me which i already knew your beautiful soul, connection with nature and caring soul. This video showcases the love and caring you want to share and give to others. Some people question why you doin it in Jamaica and not back home in Australia but we both know something in your life path called out Jamaica and thats how it came about. There is nothing to criticize she is a nice enough person, however isn't this just not yet another case of White savior syndrome, the five year old kid looked very happy playing his tin cans as drums with his friend, and just for the record I am an elder of Ja descent living oversees.

There are downtrodden ‘ghetto’ areas in every country in the world - not just Jamaica! People just focus on Jamaica because that’s the places that most RUclipsrs head for and dismiss the other 99.99% of the beautiful island, which has so much to see. As a result many people think Jamaica contains either ‘ghettos’ or ‘resorts’ while dismissing the other 85% of the island! If you know Jamaica you know that’s not all that it’s about!
When are you creating your youtube channel to show the other 85% of Jamaica?
Make sure you visit bogwalk and linstead that’s where the real hidden gems in talents are as soon as you enter bogwalk you will see the dancers dancing groups on the main you need to visit more deep in the rural area

Great Video Jess. So nice to see the kids playing drums, But you can speak to them in standard English not patois because they understand English. It's much better because they are taught in standard English in School, it also helps them to stick with standard English and only speak patois among themselves. When I was in School in Jamaica we had to speak Standard English. It was the norm. So, no problem with speaking to them in normal Standard English as they do understand, Great Vlog.
