I love how at Master difficulty they literally just teleport the opposing Machines behind you if you get too far ahead. Annoyed me so much when I found out.
Kent Akechi is totally the son of Captain Falcon. But the question is... Who the hell is his mom? If he's of japanese descent, than that means he must not be taking a lot from Falcon, as he's mostly American from his looks. It could also be that this is Rick Wheeler/Ryu Suzaku's Son(Meaning his mother would be Haruka) and that Maximum Velocity takes place 25 years after the anime's timeline, not the GX timeline.
In terms of unboosted top speeds Maximum Velocity was actually the slowest game in the franchise based purely on the speedometer, with the Silver Thunder topping out at only 464kmh vs the SNES Fire Stingray's 478kmh.
@4:30 This is a prime example of the unapologetic levels of rubber band the CPU opponents have at Master difficulty. Watch the Emerald machine. It gets hit by a bomb, losing tons of speed/traction and gets cleanly passed by the player. How TF did it almost immediately catch up and retake its position within 1.5 seconds?!

Do factor that the game was released before GX and GP Legend. Of course the game had an anime tie-in.
Funny, the old Blue Falcon had a higher top speed in the SNES game.

Operates like the original SNES game where the CPU always teleport behind the player when they're too far away.
Looks to me like everything difficult about this is the other racers ramming you into the walls.
How can i view this on 60fps?
Maybe when you checked, it hadn't finished processing yet, but the 60fps option is there now.
