- Virtual Tour of The Twin Cities - The Best Uptown Vs Northloop Comparison
I recently got a comment asking this exact question and I thought it would make for a GREAT video, so here we are! Uptown is where I first lived when moving to Minneapolis, and I went to college in the Northloop. If you're moving to the twin cities, the North Loop and Uptown will likely come up in a lot of blogs or forums, but it's hard to get a feel of what that actually looks like.
So I tried to make the best video out there on this topic!

I like that North Loop vibe.
Obsessed with this! I’ve been apartment hunting in Minneapolis and this is such a great video.
Thank you so much!!
I love your videos, very real time and informative. Looking forward to moving up from Florida soon. Will be in touch
We look forward to helping you!!
Will be there in January to hang out with friends
Thanks for this video! It really helped me solidify my decision to move to uptown next summer
My pleasure!! Uptown is a great spot to end up!
I also have a virtual tour of “Calhoun Isles” which has a bunch about uptown if you haven’t watched it yet!
What are neighbourhoods in uptown? Can you name famous place so I coud get on map
Please mention safe places housing near UMN.
Thanks for the video - alot of other stuff I found online was old. I don't know that i've made my decision yet but this definitely helped!
My pleasure!! Let me know if you have any other questions!!
I know it makes me old, but I can't hear about that Apple store without wanting to shed a tear for the Uptown Bar
Thinking of the Uptown Bar definitely reminds me of how different uptown used to be!
You should do southside, like Longfellow powderhorn, and nakomis
I definitely will! I do already have a Nokomis virtual tour on here, but I will get to the other ones as well!

I left Minnesota last year and this made me homesick! Nice video. I think it is the the Itasca flats building that has really amazing lobby and I think co working area. Such cool architecture.
Yess! The building that contains acme! The commons area is SOO cool! I have a post on my IG of it!
@jesselynchrealty
Lake Calhoun is called what now lol. Man I've been gone for a long time.
Jesse...I'm just curious, have you ever considered doing a video of the Lake of the Isles neighborhood? I was really only in that area of Minneapolis once but what I saw looked pretty cool although somewhat EXPENSIVE.
I do have a neighborhood of Calhoun isles, which definitely has some of the Lake of the Isles in it! But I could easily do tours of each of the sub neighborhoods there!
@@ToTheTwinCities I'll definetly check out your Calhoun Isles video. To be honest I've never even heard of the Calhoun Isles neighborhood. Also what/where is the Phillips? neighborhood? Thats a new one on me also. No big surprise though since I moved away from Minnesota umteen years ago.
I think the truth is most people don’t refer to the big neighborhood names all that often! Calhoun isles contains lake of the isles, kenwood, uptown, cedar isles dean, Bryn Mawr, etc - but basically nobody says “I live in Calhoun isles” because the sub neighborhoods are popular enough that you don’t have to.
What are your thoughts on Whittier? Im moving there soon and had no knowledge of the different areas in Minneapolis. I’d love to hear your insight!!
I lived in whittier for a bit and enjoyed it! It’s a hip area with a lot of art students and rental population, but close to a lot of great stuff!
North loop is like milwaukees historic third ward and became cool place for young people to live 😊
I lived in both and I’d say if you’re young and around the college age group uptown might be good for you and if you’re more young professional, 25 to 35 age Group North Loop.
I’d say this is the exact opposite of how everyone I know feels. North Loop is basically just the most popular bars and some restaurants, while Uptown has basically all of your daily amenities within walking distance and plenty of bars and great restaurants.
I love these videos! I am thinking of moving to Minneapolis and am curious where you recommend to search for vintage apartments? So far the best place I've found is craigslist but would love to hear if you have any other recommendations :)
The original heart of Uptown still beats in LynLake.
Nice vid, do u have a vid on Dayton bluff
.. & woww my BAE* & me are loving on the post? apocalyptic filter .. all yellow & grey with hardly any People* on the streets .. wide angle lenses as artistic & fantastical as a movie & the area could be ..
Hi, please rank these 3 areas in terms of safety, I am confused and not getting one kind of review to decide.
Dinkytown
Prospect park area
Seven corner
Sick!
Thank you!!
Dammm this guy looks like one of the Hispanic RUclipsr down here in Miami . Look for ( Los Pichy Boys ) and you will see.
$900 a month, best happening place in the city, 19 year old?
You should be able to find something in uptown for that. It won’t be a new building with a rooftop deck and a gym, but a cool brownstone studio or small 1BR should be in the cards! Check Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace for rentals!
@@ToTheTwinCities thank you Jesse Lynch
@@ToTheTwinCities good enough to bring girls back to though? Haha

The Valley is so much better than The Northloop
Where?
I hate the name "north loop" it's just a fake name for people who don't want to call it what it is. North Minneapolis, before it was gentrified.
