Do you like Khao Soi, the Northern Thai Food that goes so great with Norther Thailand Sausage? In this video we will take you to the best Khao Soi in Bangkok, and if you know somewhere better....let me know in the comments below! This place is in the trendy and hip Ekkamai neighborhood of Bangkok and after lunch we walk all the way to the north end and explore and see what it's like.

I don't have fav one in BKK but i have plenty in Chiangmai.
PS. DonDon Donki is a very famous supermarket from Japan.

I recommend you to try Khao Soi at Ong Tong Khao Soi Restaurant, Aree , Bangkok. One of my favourite place for authentic Khao Soi 😋
Wattana Panich is excellent! Very friendly, too. NPR and New York Times have interesting articles about it.
I love Khao Soi and have found it so difficult to find in Bangkok - so pretty much only ever had it in Chiang Mai / Chiang Rai. Gonna definitely try that Ekkamai place in your video though. Meanwhile the only other place I know of in Bangkok is a place on the quite side of Ramboutri (behind the Wat), near Khao San Road - MADAM MASUR - they do a nice Khao Soi and also Massaman. Nice old fashioned place with lovely staff, great chef.
Am really proud of my Bangkok. This city had almost everything a citizen could have ask for. Great food..transportation..nice people...beautiful temple....modern skyscrapers. If you never visit Bangkok once the covid is over please don't hesitate to. I promise you will fall in love with my hometown.

Don Don Donki is a franchise mall from Japan. They sell Japanese snacks, food, and other Japanese products. This mall is famous among Thais who love to visit Japan. And I have to admit that we love to visit there as much as we love Japanese food. [you can tell from numerous Japanese restaurants in Thailand.] So they decided to open their branch here.
It became a well-known place among most Bangkokians. but the product price is quite high compared to those in Japan.
I'd like to add that Don Don Donki is the name given to Don Quixotes franchises outside of Japan. There's another Don Don Donki in Singapore too.

Ah yes Ekami.Great neighbourhood. Used to get the 72 bus from Sukhumvit up soi Ekami when we stayed in Soi 10. Happy memories.
That Khao Soi looks amazing! I know a spot up in the north of Chatuchak that does a good bowl. Perfect weather to get out and walk around, so nice right now.

While I was in Korat, there was a street stall selling this noodle and I have been eating it every week without knowing the name of the dish... now I know it is Khao soi . Thanks for the Bangkok recommendation, will check it out when I visit next time.
As for DonDon Donki, it is the international version of Japanese chain Don Quijote. It is a supermarket selling Japanese stuff at reasonably low price, some branches have Japanese eateries beside the supermarket. It is a nice place for Japanese food and products not easily available in local supermarkets.

Chris, I have been watching your videos since you had about 500 subscribers and now 72K, simply amazing. I will say of all of the people in the Bangkok area, you are by far the most engaging of them all. I admire when you also are with your wife. It makes it more interactive. Since watching your videos, you have definitely increased my appetite to relocate from sunny and EXPENSIVE Southern California to the greater Bangkok area. I could definitely see my wife and I live in the greater Bangkok area. Keep up the tireless and excellent videos you create for the RUclips community. I look forward to the near future when we get there to hopefully meet up with you. I think that would be a real treat.

The best Khao Soi in Chiang Mai used to be served by a lovely lady who set up shop beside one of the overpasses near Warorot Market in the evenings. Alas, she departed a few years ago and I still haven't found anywhere that comes close.
In Mae Hong Son, there's a lady who serves it for a couple of hours at lunchtime, and for an hour in the evenings, from her home on one of the side streets. Absolutely divine, and 3 minutes walk from my nephew's house.
Ong Tong Khao Soi on Soi Ari is delicious!!! Just off the BTS at Ari station. Thanks for making a clip on khao soi and kang HaengLay. Such good northern Thai dishes.
6:43 Don Don Donki(Don Quijote) is Japanese discount chain store. They have quite interesting selection of products across several floors, atleast over at Japan. You should go check it out when you have the opportunity.
Hi Chris you have taught me that there is so many more meals available to try In Thailand than Pad Thai which is great also.
Hom Duan is on my must go list for my next trip to bkk
As someone has already mentioned, Ongtong Khaosoi @ Ari. It's just 5 mins walk from the Ari BTS Station. However, pricing is higher than Hom Duan. As always, looking forward to new discoveries of Bangkok from your videos (actually every bit of Thailand if possible). Continue with the good work, I find them informative. Thank you much Chris!

to the river in chiang mai, just as you
go over the iron bridge - a really big restaurant that does tremendous food
I have a little favorite place in San Sai hard to find little neighborhood place but very clean and great Khao soi and soups

That’s the best part about Bangkok Streets . There’s something in every nook and corner which is so interesting and you never know what you bump into 🍛🍤🍻

I love ekamai. That's where we plan to stay when we're there in Apr. My wife is from Chiang Rai and Kao Soi is one of my top 2 thai dishes! Hung Lae is the top seller on my wife's food delivery service. She kills it!

You should try 'Ink + Lion' next door. Their affogattos, with Thai tea ice cream and delicious.

Next time you’re in Ekamai, you could check out Sabai Jai Gai Yang in soi 1 (which is actually quite a ways up the street - opposite Thonglor Soi 6). Great Isaan grilled chicken and all the spicy dishes that go with it. Full of happy Isaan diners in the evening.

As a northern Thai, I approve Hom Duan. They have one of the best northern food in Bangkok.
I always go there when I was in Bangkok and miss my hometown’s food.
Looks like for my next trip there I will have to ask you for a detailed PDF document for all these eating and drinking joints🙂

Chris there is an really good Khao Soi Joint at Ari, close to Ari BTS. its called Ong Tong Khao Soi, its considered one of the Top 5 Khao Soi Joints in Bangkok, there is another Khao Soi Joint in Ari too called HANN Khao Soi, check them out.
I am a Khao Soi Master, I eat Khao Soi on the West Coast too, just costs way more.

My favorite khao soi in Bangkok is in Chiangmai!! Been going for 30+ years, called New Lamduan khao soi. But if I get the hankering in BKK I usually go and get pampered and fleeced at the Spice Garden in the Anantara near the Erawan shrine. Around 250 bt for a bowl. Absurdly expensive but very good and a great oasis of calm from shopping in the area. They also make one of the best iced teas only because they use iced tea ice cubes so God forbid your tea should get watery!!!
DonDon Donki is a Japanese market with all kind of cool Japanese food and products, they are very cool to visit, I went in one last year in Singapore right before the pandemic hit worldwide.

Cheers Chris went to Hom Duan today mostly takeaway and only two tables outside ,but I got one table and it was fantastic,best Kao Soi I have had in Bkk and the pork belly was amazing . Will try the other place you mentioned for the beef stew next time.Also tried Beancoded last Sunday. Excellent coffee and value, but boy was it hot in that food court and there were only 2 of us in there .
