The start of a love affair with Thailand for Adam. He'll never be the same. He'll be better. I was 10 years older then him when I took my first trip to Thailand, and have never stopped loving that country. It really is my 2nd home and I'll never forget the voice on the BTS announcing Nana. 🧘🏻❤️
LOL the Nana announcement from the BTS is truly iconic. I frequent bangkok once a month before the pandemic brought international travel to a standstill and I always stay at Nana area so this brought back alot of nostalgia.
I might partially retire there soon. I'm in my mid-50s, and I could imagine spending the winter months in Bangkok. I'm from Germany and I really don't like those cold winter months. And I love Bangkok. Been there so many times (mostly on business trips). It could become my second home.
@@LeoR4U I’m in the same situation. Same plans. Late 40’s. Netherlands here, done with those cold and dark months every year. Ready to semi retire and semi migrate! Thailand seems to be a very good option. 🤞
I think that Nana (in the Farang (aka "Western") world view/sense/mentality) meant "Grandmother, Grandma, and/or Nana." I think that there was a Sports Bar, next to Hooters behind a Brown (LED) sign... this was when I last visited Bangkok in February 2019...
Great informative video on short term rentals. He had to pick the 1st one at his age, pool, view, location, efficient use of space, and convenient to BTS, smart man. I can see why Chris is successful, gives the people what they want, is direct to the point, provides useful, informative information, a glimpse of the surrounding area and in a fun manner points out some things that might not be as appealing to others. I think people are willing to help Chris because they can tell he is a genuine, nice, caring person who shows respect to others.
This is such amazing work and great value you provide to everyone around you, viewers, you family, landlords, agencies! Well done Chris! You're a real pro and an inspiration! That 100k is coming at you fast, faster than you think!
Perfectly timed! Also I love how the voice overs match the videos amazingly- I feel like I'm watching a documentary (only this is far more interesting). Well done and thanks for the quick uploads!
4:46 This is good. So is 4:53. I can't seem to get enough of such house rental videos. My category of choice would be small house outside city center i.e. in 4000 to 6000 range or small, furnished and equipped condo at the edge of MRT/BTS.
Love the neighbourhood of the 3rd option. Love the local feel and architecture. A two-room townhouse would suit me fine. Lat Phrao, I will file that away for the future.
Lat phrao is a good area with 2 large shopping malls and subway access.just a couple of stops to chatachuk park for the weekend market and the park, not that far to don mueang airport also.🙏
I've been going to Thailand for 22yrs now..;0) except for my earlier years, I tend to use Bangkok as my start and end point. But your changing my mind Chris.. I'm blown away by the choice for 17,000bht in BKK. Thanks Chris
9:56 we have the "nice old couple", says the retired guy with gray hair, they look like a nice couple. Your nephew picked the right place for sure. He is going to have a blast in Thailand (by now I am sure he already has).
Excellent information. I'm 63 years old. I will be retiring in 4 months and I have always wanted to go to Thailand. I have been all through Cambodia. And I loved it! But I have heard that the Thailand people are wonderful. So, I'm ready to make the decision to move to Thailand 🇹🇭. Thanks for the fantastic recon!
Woww everything had changed. Bangkok is the one of the big city is never sleep. I left this place for 10 years now. I will be back home soon. I missed everything over there but never thought to go back to retire in this city. Your channel is really helpful for people who want to retire in Thailand. 👍🤩🥳
I go with Adam with the 1st choice , it's a little small but very cosy and it's furnished , nice view and awesome infinity pool. The 3rd option , the rent is almost free for such an enormous house , but no furniture. Good choice Adam !! you won't regret .
Amazing content...that last house was so BIG...crazy....so cool and chill....😅😅😅......beautiful...your videos are so good in providing helpful information for foreigners and/or travellers across South East of Asia...Good job...and your passion and enthusiasm for showing good deals in Thailand is so enjoyable...👍👏👏👏
All three are great options. Option three is great for a longer-term, but I don’t know what I would do with all that space by myself. For a one month, I like the first two options. Location and size better on option two. Nana is in the middle of all the action, yet you would still get your privacy. Love the amenities in Ekkemai.
Thank you Mr. Parker. As a regular traveler to Thailand for last twenty years this video makes really useful for me. Now I know where to live. As soon as the walls of Covid fall, I will be back. Hope we can meet.
Chris, a really fun and educational video. That lady's voice on the BTS always melts me when she announces 'Nana' and not for a naughty reason, it's just lovely 💕. I have to agree to number 1 being my choice for a short term stay, everything was pretty much perfect. If I was doing 2 months or more I think the amazing Bangkok suburbs would definitely get a serious view, but, I recognise your comment on the townhouse about the aircon costs. 🤑. Not far to 100k!!👍
Brilliant Chris, only today I contacted Remax only to be informed they sell condos only. So this video is perfect well done. We subscribe to your channel and enjoy all your Videos. .
This is quite an useful information for anyone who is thinking of traveling to Bangkok after this Pandemic. One family might prefer the 3rd, a couple will love the 2nd and single young travelers probably choose the 1st option.
I often stay in omni towers when I’m in Bangkok. Normally just for a few nights but it’s often discounted on the various accom hooking sites. Close to the action but far enough away to be quiet. They have a complimentary tiuk tuk to nana station as well.
The Blooms, 203/1-3, Soi Si Bamphen, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon, Bangkok 10120, Thailand. I've stayed here back in 2009 and 2013 during my 3 month sabaticals. Places around this area are affordable who are looking for a great location for short stay. Great area for those that are on a budget and ok with a motel feel.
I have been to BKK many times (7/8 times a year), I like your choice of places...but for a single guy, Ekkamai is your crib. I stay in On-Nut nearby and that’s about 10-12 K., shopping, markets, BTS, fight gyms and easy access to Bangkok’s nightclubs that Farangs have never heard of nearby with lots of beautiful local ladies...love BKK. This video made me homesick.
Thanks for the informative video!! In my many trips to Thailand, I haven't long-stayed in BBK but this time around I believe I will be staying there and doing my side trips. Can't wait to get back and enjoy my Thai friends and make new ones! Cheers from Alaska!!
Chris - great video!! What I LOVE about your approach is that you "Laugh and Learn" = LaL. Keep these great videos coming - as you have a great talent and it seems that you are having fun along the way!
I stayed at that Rhythm condo a few times. I like that area with the Gateway mall right there and easy BTS access. One issue I have had at these modern condos in Bangkok is the regular sewage smell in the condo itself. Probably about 1/3 of the condos seem to have this smell. A wet towel put over the drain in the shower seems to help a little but I've never really understood the cause of it. I can only assume maybe bad plumbing, All the places I've stayed that had it were relatively new high rise condos. I've only stayed at modern condos so I don't know if older places have the same issue. Curious if others notice this as well and if anyone has an idea of why this occurs.
Those are some really tough choices but I like the last one because of the surrounding people and businesses anyway thanks again for taking so long. Stay safe. From the US
Hi, I’m looking to spend 6 months out of a year for my retirement journey in Thailand. What is the short term rent, 3 months,6 months .....? I’m interested in the 1st one(RHYTHM)Can you give me an answer? 🙏 thxs
Love this channel!! Even I am Thais 🇹🇭but I never see all these places that your presentation.🙏 Thank you for making a good content in Bangkok, Thailand 💚🥰😇
I love the neighborhood and the vibe. So much cheaper, in reality, due to the cost of food. Seriously nice. But way too big for one person, so I would do the second one. Just me, don't need the space. The Airbnb idea is fabulous. You need to take your time to find the right fit and an airbnb gives you that slow time for good decisions.
Trane is excellent HVAC company for your Split AC unit, I know cause I had 98 units installed years back, and they are still going strong. Excellent video Chris.
Thanks Chris, that is great information. Looks like 2022 for us before we're back, but its coming! And hey, 87.5K! Well done, maybe it will be a 100k before April!
PERFECT content, Chris! I'll be retiring in a few years and splitting my time between Southeast Asia (fall thru spring) and Eastern/Southern Europe (spring thru fall) , so the short-term rental scene has been my biggest interest, especially since I'll probably mix it up by hopping between Bangkok and other cities every 1 to 3 months between November and April.
I'm three years from retirement and have never thought of this arrangement. I was looking at purchasing property in southern France but your idea seems so much more realistic and doable. I'm glad I saw your comment, now I can try convincing my wife. 😁

With room left over! I pay $675US for a crappy 2bed apartment in WI(with nothing included), that would fit inside the smallest bedroom! I will definitely be going there in the near future.
Another great video Chris, your shooting style you definitely could make videos for all the hotels and condo to rent site’s, a new option I don’t think you will need it though this will continue to go off I reckon. Enjoy
Used to be a great little corner bar where that Hooters on Sukhumvit Soi 4 is now. I remember touring the Omni in the 90's. It was a nice place then and still looks like a great value. Thanks, Chris. (Edited) Wow, just realized you're not too far from 100K subs! Congrats, Chris!
I' sold the Ekemai Bus station is walking distance, BTS and the MRT could run to the Train Station, then onto Chang Mai, however, with the comforts of the Rental, ist would be hard to leave home> unless of course you needed a Border Run to return in-country for another time and space.
Thanks for such a timely video! Really nice to see a different take on condo tours. We're currently on the same kind of hunt as Adam - except looking for a long term stay - and hadn't considered the "neighborhood" option before this. Great work CEO Chris!!!

Great for getting info about bangkok and entertainment all rolled into one! Well done chris!
