Personally, I Q right after I stun, then I auto, then shield wall. I kept finding that Stun, auto, Q ended with them either dodging or flashing the lance.
I totally agree with where you're coming from but most of the time you can usually sneak an auto between your W and Q casts, especially if you take the Attack Speed rune in your runes instead of an extra Adaptive Force. Taking the extra attack speed helps your auto come out faster and helps your empowered W's triple-hit come out faster too!
