Thanks for watching guys. This can be the unfortunate reality when camping alone. This is far from the first (or worst) scary encounter that I’ve had while travelling or “adventuring” alone. I’m sure a lot of you can relate. I guess this is a reminder to keep your wits about you in the back country and listen to your gut when it’s trying to tell you something. This guy was acting weird when he got out of his car and it stuck with me all day- seeing his car pass by multiple times after made me realize that I didn’t want to be spending the night out there. That’s unfortunately just the way it goes sometimes- best we can do is make the right decisions and prevent as much risk as possible without having to give up what we love, and taking ourselves into the great outdoors. I hope you all stay safe when you’re out on your own adventures ❤️
Good call, one time was camping with my wife and inlaws for thanksgiving. a lone guy drove around the empty campgrounds and pulled up back to a spot right next to us. then approached the camp and asked if our dogs responded to commands. I put my gun on my picnic table and said "they know how to respond to MY commands". we left after i explained that i would rather not get murdered in my sleep. drove back home after our campfire thanksgiving meal that night. ALWAYS take personal protection into your own hands. Stay fit, Carry a weapon and medical gear, Constantly plan evasion as you go. But great job on you!!! STAY SAFE!
Thanks for still taking the time to edit this and put it up, even though it wasn't the trip you wanted. I find it helpful to see/hear how other women deal with situations like this. It makes me feel better prepared when I'm in the moment and questioning what to do.
Glad you trusted your intuition and hauled ass back to your van. Hoping you'll have many great and safe camping adventures to come soon where you don't have to be cautious of anything except critters (and bears)!
You not only got yourself out of a potentially dangerous situation, you showed what it looks like so that others can learn from you. Several times you've abandoned your trips, all for good reasons. This is what good judgement in the wilderness is all about.
This is literally the bear and the man dilemma playing out. You weren't afraid to be out there with one bear, but as soon as a man turned up you upped and left. Im sorry you had to go through this after making such a great camp. you definitely did the right thing, just sucks that you didn't get to have the adventure you wanted.

Smart choice. This can happen to men, too. I camped solo in a spot only to have a couple of cars, one after the other, sit and wait next to my dispersed site for a long time. Dark windows. Engines running. Just watching me. They either wanted my site for a big party or I was in for a mugging when the dark came. I had a bow and knife, but why take risks? It wasn’t worth it. I ended my trip early. Thanks for the tip on keeping wood dry.

@@kiraaindow hey girl! They’re just some cargo pants I got from the thrift store with a bunch of loops and pockets! I think In this video I just used carabiners to attach my bear spray and garmin. The pants have pretty deep pockets so I could put my saw in there too! Also I just checked out your Saint johns video and the editing/shots were really pretty, it looked like such a fun trip 😁
Definitely made the right decision. As a man, I would like to know if there is anything a man can do in situations like this to avoid seeming like a serial killer.
It's the lingering and the silence that raises red flags a lot of the time. If this guy didn't have malicious intent a simple acknowledgement "Hey sorry, didn't realize anybody was here, I'll get out of your hair" and actually not making yourself known again is less unsettling. Making the effort to vocalize, in one sentence that you see how the situation looks, keep your distance, and put intentional space in between you and a stranger goes a long way. Also if you do say something, taking off anything covering your face (hat, sunglasses, mask, whatever) can help.
This is the second video I've seen today involving a female RUclipsr having to deal with creepy guys 😓 As the father of a daughter, it makes me disgusted and sad. So sorry you had to deal with that!
To reinforce what most others are saying, intuition is powerful if you allow yourself to listen to it. My wife and I were on our honeymoon in and near Glacier National Park, staying in primitive and backcountry sites. This was twenty years ago. We'd mapped out a ten mile hike for our second morning, and about half a mile in, all the hair on my neck stood up and I had this intense feeling of dread. No reason for it that I could tell. I convinced my now wife that we needed to turn back and go NOW with no evidence as to why. She was disappointed, but didn't press me on it. Two days later, a hiker was mauled by a grizzly on that same trail. We never know what subtle information our brains are picking up in the background.
Thanks for watching guys. This can be the unfortunate reality when camping alone. This is far from the first (or worst) scary encounter that I’ve had while travelling or “adventuring” alone.

I am definitely still learning as I go
@ this helps a lot! i’ll definitely check those out thanks! :))
Aw man. That sucks. I always carry somthing with me. But I'm a guy. For a girl it's definitely different. I had a friend that would brake there thoughts. So it's ok to tap out. Be safe and stay strong
Hi Jenna, this is my first time ever tuning in into your channel. I was wondering, where did you go in this video? Is it in Canada 🇨🇦? It’s so beautiful 😍
Please report the license plate and events to the police! I'm so sorry this happened to you, and you were absolutely justified in leaving. That sounds so scary! I hope you never have to deal with that again.
I'm quite the big strong man with some martial arts experience, I would also have been spooked out and left by that.
Thanks for putting in the work of making the video anyway!
Hi! Love your videos. I have a random question, where’d you get your glasses!?
As a man myself I would have left too. Trust your gut always.
3:44 she has superhuman strength 😮
Nice
Even as a man, I'd probably still bail, especially if I was alone, he was clearly someone to be concerned about.
I'm so curious about your pant/utility belt set up
@@kiraaindow hey girl!
I would have taken off. God Bless and Be Safe
Glad you were able to stay safe. Also, does Herb have Crocs?
No but he should
@@jennalexisko Agreed. I think he'd like a pair for Christmas
Hiiii, I love your channel. I was wondering what water bottle you use in your videos. its a filter one
@@abigailwilkinson9288 thank you ! It’s from the brand Grayl :)
14:27 White SUV passes in background.
Gut feeling is the correct move, Eva Zu Beck ( U tube) has a stalker now , and has ben run off her new land.
This is the second video I've seen today involving a female RUclipsr having to deal with creepy guys 😓 As the father of a daughter, it makes me disgusted and sad. So sorry you had to deal with that!
Dont mean to scare you, you already scared... Don wait any longer to take actions, olease...
