      Hi Tony, I am a loyal fan of your RUclips channel, thanks for the informative videos. I am going to stay at Easyhotel Barcelona Fira for 4 days, is it worth getting the Hola Barcelona Travel Card to travel around Barcelona from my hotel?
      Is there a drop-off nearby(walking distance) the Easyhotel using the Hola card? What's is the best transport option to go to Easyhotel from the airport terminal 1, if I am not taking the taxi? Thanks

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal

      @@raytan577 hi Ray, if you take the local bus, it has a stop right in front of the Easyhotel. On the location of the Easyhotel, you will be using public transportation on a daily basis, so you will quite likely benefit from the Hola Barcelona card.

    I have been traveling to Barcelona a dozen times, always taking the 46 bus from T2. I knew there was a metro line from the airport to the city, but didn't know how to get to that metro station, and I didn't have time to find out, also I didn't see any sign showing the direction. What is funnier, my father, who lives in Barcelona for 20 years, didn't know either. So thanks for showing how to get there.

    Very useful information. It is 6:55 surprising that Barcelona is so late to the contactless party. Though it appears this solution does not use bank cards! In the UK, you just rock up with a bank card and you're good to travel like a local. No registration, no app, or special card needed. Barcelona needs to get on board.

    Wooooow you are the man, best airport video ever, thanks.
    We are arriving late, after 20h so we will probably have to take a taxi to La Rambla so we can explore the city more or if something goes wrong the train is the best option so we don't have to make connections if I understood right :)

      @@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal The street number is La Rambla 40 - Hotel Quatre Naciones. :)
      If we take the train we should leave at Passeig de Gràcia station and walk for 20 minutes which is ok. But probably we will offer the taxi drivers 40e at the airport(all expenses together in that price, only two of us) so we can arrive the fastest and leave our bags. :)

      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Год назад

      @@truncksZR it is quite a walk from the Passeig de Gràcia station to your hotel, Google estimates tend to be overoptimistic. You don't offer taxi drivers any money, they are obliged, by law, to charge you whatever the taximeter shows. Taxis are, by far, the fastest alternative.

    Thanks Tony, I always enjoy and appreciate your informative videos regarding Barcelona. I think we'll opt for taking a taxi to our destination. The Mrs and I will have been involved in two long flights, starting in Las Vegas, then connecting in Philadelphia (after a long layover). I'm sure we'll be pretty pooped by the time we arrive in Barcelona and will want the quickest, most convenient method to reach our hotel. Yes, it will cost more, but it will be worth it.

    Hello, great video!
    I need a little bit of help:
    I arrive in the BCN airport T2 at ~1:15 am
    My accommodation is close to the airport and we could take the night bus N19 or we can also walk (~3km). Metro is not available
    My plan was to buy T-usual card as it is the cheapest now (20eur for zone 1, we are staying 6 days) and also includes the airport trasnport
    Question is - will I be able to get the T-usual ticket at the airport somewhere in the night? Or I just spend 2.40 on the bus and buy the card next morning in the closest ticket machine?

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Год назад

      Walking from the airport is an absolute no-no. Depending on the day of the week the metro runs 24 hours. If that wasn't the case on the day of your visit, take the N19 and buy the card next morning as you suggest.

    I gotta be honest. Travelling from Barcelona airport to the centre is a long journey. As you mentioned the path to the metro in Terminal 2 is absolutely ridiculous and the first 10 station with the orange line are a huge waste…
    I didn’t learn about the train option until later on vacation.

    That bridge from T1, used to have a moving walkway on the bridge which took you to the rail terminal. Eventually they covered it up. Glad to hear the system is optimized.

      @@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Tony I'm going to take your advice and I already know I will buy a T-Usual ticket for 20 euros, but before leaving Poland using the TMB online application as e-ticket because I have NFC and I intend to use this option in Barcelona.
      I still have a stay at the Central Garden Hostal, Roger de Lluria 41, I checked that from the airport I can get there by metro lines: L9 from the airport to Torrassa, change to L1 and go to Urquinaona station, where I change line to L4 and go 2 stops to the station to Girona. There I leave the subway and continue on foot 350 m to the accommodation.
      My questions: first: will there be no problems with validating tickets using a smartphone with NFC, both in the subway and on buses? And the second: whether changing at the station Torrassa and Urquinaona I won't have to go outside the tunnel and I'll be able to do it on the same platform where I get off?

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Год назад

      @@Wichren hi Andrzej, the T-usual ticket, right now, is an excellent investment. To reach your hostal you could take the airport train, travel to Barcelona-Passeig de Gràcia and walk less than 10 minutes, that will be better than having to take three metro lines (the line exchange at Urquinaona is horrible, it's an old station with lots of flights of stairs).
      We haven't tested the tickets on the smartphone, as the tickets we use haven't been added to the T-mobilitat platform yet. We assume that, if they are being offered on mobile platforms, it's because they work. But cannot tell you for sure, "we've tested it, it's simple, works this or that way". We are waiting for T-mobilitat to be fully implemented to do a video on the topic. All the best!

    I love your videos.
    They are seriously good.
    Thank you for saying to take care whilst here.
    They need better security on the metro from the airport, at least while the rest of the metro line 9 and 10 are being built.
    At the moment, this metro passes through some areas, whereas things are difficult. As you said not the best if you have a lot of things.
    My favourite way of getting to ans from the airport is by the aerobus, yes it's more expensive, however its quick and saves loads of stress.
    You may need to be aware, though, as a tourist if you get of at placa Catalunya, some sad people may look for a chance to rob from you. At the same time, there is normally a visible presence of the police around the stop.
