I feel I must point out a few things which I think are erroneous. Akhenaton was not a boy king, that was Tutankhamen. His father, Amenhotep III , made Akhenaten his co regent for a number of years before he died. There is evidence that the old pharaoh and his wife, Queen Tiye, embraced the faith of their son and lived in Akhetaten for a period of time. Nefertiti was a very important dignitary in the religion of Aten worship. She is depicted many times beside her husband performing rituals. The worship of the Aten was not a new religion. Aten or Atum was in the pantheon of Egypt’s gods with the centre for worship in earlier times being in Heliopolis (for obvious reasons). What was revolutionary was that it was a monotheistic tradition in that Ahhenaten wanted his followers to put aside evidence of other deities. Evidence has been found that the ordinary people in Akhetaten did not exactly follow this rule as statuettes of other deities have been found buried in some of the dwellings. Although recent Egyptologists have given their imprimatur that Tutankhamen was Ahenaten’s offspring, I’m not sure that I am convinced that recent DNA evidence proves his paternity. Before he died(?) he had a co-regent for a short period, this was Smenkhare but he appears to have died about the same time as Akhenaten. It is not known his paternity, but he could have been a younger brother. In all, it is believed Akhenaten was Pharaoh for about 17 years. Just wanted to correct a few points that might have given the wrong impression.

Gabnebius: You are right. The video shows ignorance of several facts. The one glaring error in my estimation is calling the Aten the sun, whereas Akhnaton wan REVIVING more ancient Egyptian religious traditions which worshipped the "spirit" or "energy" of the sun, not simply the sun disk.

I recently heard another perspective on what Akhenaten was trying to do by ushering in monotheism. He wanted the people to show appreciation for the God above the deities they were worshipping. Kind of like bringing back to the source. Thoughts?

Akhenaten's Aten based religion was the culmination of events that started during the early New Kingdom period when his greater family unit, a family from Thebes (modern day Luxor), started ruling Egypt starting around 1550, about two hundred years before Akhenaten took power.
During the New Kingdom, a large number of solar hymns, (songs and poems to the sun god Ra) start appearing in people's tombs around Thebes. In the various New Kingdom pharaoh's own tombs, such as Thutmose III, secret solar based afterlife texts known as the Amduat and others start appearing in the Valley of the King's tombs. Akhenaten's grandfather Thutmose II gave credit to the Aten for a military victory he had up in the levant, and the Aten was already a personal deity of Akhenaten's father, Amenhotep III, in fact Akhenaten's father named his personal royal barge, the "Spirit of the Aten."
When Amenhotep IV took over, he kept his name intact for the first year or two before changing it to Akhenaten, and Egyptologists are still debating how much of his religion was based on a true belief he had, and how much of it was a cult/political tool he used to attack the Amun temple priesthood and strip them of their increasing power, due to things such as the "professionalization of the priesthood," a phenomena that also developed during the New Kingdom and was competed with the pharaoh for influence and Egyptian state power dynamics.

I’ve loved ancient Egyptian history since fourth grade when my teacher made it come alive for my class. However, it wasn’t until I saw the Metropolitan Opera’s premier of Philip Glass’s opera “Ahknaten” two years ago that I first heard of Ahknaten. After seeing that fantastic opera I tried to find out everything that I could about him. From what I have learned about him, his father Amunhotep III and his son Tutankhamen these three pharaohs had reigns that were so completely different from each other’s in spite of them being three generations of the same family. How a pharaoh who so completely changed the religion and culture of Egypt during his reign could then be lost to history for millennia fascinates me. BTW the opera “Ahknaten” is returning to the Metropolitan Opera in May and June of next year (2022). It’s the musical equivalent of this video and is an incredible telling of Ahknaten’s life story. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Thanks for a fascinating video. I learned some new facts about this enigmatic pharaoh and his reign.

      🔘CHAPTER 26a
      • Moroni recounts the history of Egypt, the first great empire. He explains why the histories of the human race are one-sided and seldom tell the whole truth.
      • The pharaoh Akhenaton is introduced, and is befriended by the prophet Ubaid.
      • The Egyptian nation is a great nation, which is later destroyed because of wickedness.
66 And it came to pass that the nation of Egypt became exceedingly great among all the nations of the earth. And they trained armies to protect them, and they caused that great cities were built up according to their traditions and the worship of their gods.
67 And it came to pass that there was a son of a pharaoh, whose name was Akhenaton. And during the days of his youth, Akhenaton played among the slaves, which were in the service of his father.
68 And among those with whom he played, was a boy whose name was Ubaid. And Ubaid had been foreordained by the Lord to become a great prophet to the Egyptian people. For the parents of Ubaid were a humble people who did not accept the many gods that were worshipped in Egypt.
69 Nevertheless, they were forbidden by law to speak their minds concerning theses things. And they were mindful of the plight in which the poor class of the people found themselves under the reign of the pharaohs.
70 And they began to teach their son that there was but one God, and that God would not want that any of His children suffer as the poor were being forced to suffer because of the wickedness of the rich. And they were gentle people who gave what they could to relieve the suffering of those who suffered.
71 And the father of Ubaid was one of the chief laborers who was assigned to the upkeep and maintenance of the statues of the gods that adorned the great houses in which the Pharaoh and his wives dwelt. For the Pharaoh had many wives, he being considered a god who had this right.
72 And the Pharaoh trusted the father of Ubaid and gave unto him great authority over all those who were his servants in his own household. And the father of Ubaid was a just man who dealt justly with all the servants of the Pharaoh, and therefore, was highly esteemed among them for the way that he exercised the authority that he had been given over them by the Pharaoh.
73 And for this reason, Akhenaton was allowed to play with Ubaid all the days of their youth. For it was not permitted by their laws, that the upper class had established for them, that their children, who were esteemed above the children of the lower class, should play with or associate with other children who were not of their own class.
74 But it came to pass that Akhenaton became like a brother unto Ubaid. And while in the house of Ubaid, he would listen to the words of the father of Ubaid and ponder upon them in his heart.
75 And it came to pass, that at a certain time, it was required of Ubaid that he pass through the circumcisions that were customary among the people of Egypt in introducing their young males into adulthood. But among the upper class, it was not a requirement for them. For they had more sanitary environments in which they lived. But of the lower classes, it was a law that all males receive this circumcision.
76 And Akhenaton was forbidden from that time forward to associate with the children of the servants of his father, the Pharaoh. And Akhenaton was exceedingly sorrowful because of the loss of his friend. And he kept this sorrow in his heart because of the power of his father; and also his fear of the judgment of his father, the Pharaoh.
77 But Akhenaton wanted to be circumcised like unto his friend Ubaid so that he could always remember the friendship that they enjoyed as children.
78 And it came to pass that Ubaid grew and was wrought upon by the Holy Ghost. And he was taught the commandments and laws of God, and also the truth pertaining unto God. And he was called to preach repentance to the Egyptian people and show unto them the things wherein they had corrupted the truth concerning the commandments of the Father.
79 And it came to pass that as Ubaid taught the people these things, he was bound and imprisoned by those priests who were threatened by what he preached. And these priests, who were the holy priests of the gods in which the people had been taught to believe, had him bound according to the laws of the land, which did not permit anyone to speak contrary to the teachings of the priests of Pharaoh.
80 And Ubaid was held in captivity for many days and was given little to eat and drink. And his father went unto the Pharaoh and threw himself at the feet of his master and begged for mercy for his son.
81 And the Pharaoh knew not that which had been done by his priests, for they had hidden this thing from him. And the Pharaoh commanded that his priests give unto him an account of all that they had done unto Ubaid, and also an account of why they had done these things.
82 And the priests came before the Pharaoh and told unto him all manner of lies concerning the effect that the preaching of Ubaid was having on the people of Egypt.
83 And now, it would have been no great thing, if Ubaid had spoken of his beliefs and kept them to himself. But when his beliefs began to cause contentions and disputations among the people of Egypt, as the wicked priests reported to the Pharaoh, the Pharaoh was obligated by the laws of their nation to take the life of him who causeth contention, so that the peace of the kingdom would not be affected.

      🔘CHAPTER 26b
84 But in this thing, his priests had lied unto him. For the words of Ubaid were not contentious, but were the simple words of love that the Spirit had taught unto him. Yea, they were the words of Christ, and the law of the gospel as it hath been presented in this record. And because of the teachings of Ubaid, many of the people began to question the priests in whom they believed, but there was no contention among them.
85 But the priests knew that they could not reveal the true nature of the teachings of Ubaid unto the Pharaoh, for it would usurp the authority that they had received by the office of their calling, which was given unto them by the Pharaoh. For the Pharaoh depended on his priests for advice and counsel in the ways that he should govern the people of his kingdom.
86 And if their advice caused contention and disputations among the people of Egypt, then the Pharaoh would require this at the hands of those to whom he had given the commission to watch over the people. For this reason, the priests of the Pharaoh lied to him about the effect of the words of Ubaid.
87 And the Pharaoh was bound by his word, and also by the traditions of his forefathers, to take the life of whomever disrupted the peace of the kingdom, which peace was only experienced among the upper class as it hath been explained unto you.
88 And it came to pass that the father of Ubaid pled even more exceedingly for the life of his son. But the Pharaoh had spoken; and nothing the father of Ubaid could say would save the life of his son.
89 And Akhenaton did not know concerning these things at the time that they occurred. And the father of Ubaid went unto the house of Akhenaton. And because he was not a servant of that house, and was not assigned by law to the house of Akhenaton, he was not permitted to enter therein.
89 And Akhenaton did not know concerning these things at the time that they occurred. And the father of Ubaid went unto the house of Akhenaton. And because he was not a servant of that house, and was not assigned by law to the house of Akhenaton, he was not permitted to enter therein.
90 But the father of Ubaid tore at his clothes and wept exceedingly and made his voice loud so that all could hear his pleas.
91 And it came to pass that Akhenaton heard the commotion that was being made in front of his house, and went for himself to see that which was occurring. And when he recognized the father of Ubaid, he immediately commanded his guards to release him and allow him to come into his house.
92 And the father of Ubaid recounted all the things that the priests of his father had done unto Ubaid. And Akhenaton wept also for Ubaid, for he knew that there was nothing he could do to save his friend because of the word that had been spoken by his father.
93 Nevertheless, Akhenaton went unto his father and pled for the life of his friend. And the Pharaoh did not have compassion on the words of his son, and forbade him from ever speaking of the matter before him again. But in one final effort to do what he could for Ubaid, Akhenaton pleaded with his father that he, who was one of the royal sons, could administer this sentence of death unto Ubaid.
94 And because of the laws that were among them, the Pharaoh could not forbid his son from doing that which he desired. For it was a long standing tradition among them that the sons of the pharaohs be given the opportunity to carry out the commands of their fathers, and in this way, show their loyalty and integrity to the throne, which one of them would receive upon the death of the reigning pharaoh. And because of this thing that Akhenaton desired of his father, the Pharaoh; even that he would take the life of his beloved friend for the sake of the law and order that had been established among them; Akhenaton showed his loyalty to his father and to all of Egypt.
95 And because of this thing, the Pharaoh pronounced upon him that he would inherit the throne upon his death. And when the Pharaoh had announced this, it became law.
96 And this was not the desire of the priests, for they were enjoined in their desire to have another of the sons of the Pharaoh inherit the throne, even one that they had taught themselves, since the day of his birth.
97 But in this, their plan was spoiled, for the word of the Pharaoh when spoken, was like unto the word of God to the people. And Akhenaton was anointed to be their Pharaoh and their God, and in this, the wicked priests were uneasy, but they had no choice but to submit themselves to the word of the Pharaoh.
98 And it came to pass that there was not a set time that the sentence of death had to be administered unto Ubaid. And Akhenaton went into Ubaid in captivity, and wept upon him, and told his friend that which he had to do.
99 And Ubaid smiled upon his beloved friend, and held him close to his bosom and said unto him: Oh, my beloved Akhenaton, cry not for me, for to this end was I called before this world was. Behold, dost thou not realize, that because of this thing, thou shall sit upon the throne of thy father and rule and reign over this people? And dost thou not realize that we have been forbidden to see each other for these many years, even since the days of our youth? And if this thing had not come to pass, then we might not have ever seen each other again.
100 And it came to pass that Ubaid spent many hours reminiscing with Akhenaton about the happy times of their youth. And Akhenaton was comforted by these things, and stopped his weeping for a time.
101 And Ubaid continued, saying: Behold, I have been called by God to preach repentance unto this people, and to teach them the truth regarding those things that they have been taught by the traditions of their fathers, which are the precepts of men. For the things that they have been taught are contrary to the laws of happiness by which God would have us live, so that we might be happy upon this earth, and also, that we might be happy when we return once again to live with Him in His kingdoms.
102 And Akhenaton was confused, and said unto him: Of which of our gods dost thou speak? And what is it that thou hast said concerning this happiness in the kingdoms of this God? And I know that when we die, we go unto the land of Osiris, and there we will be placed according to our status here upon this earth. And for this reason we have the priests of Osiris to teach us the things that we must do to prepare ourselves for this afterlife.

      🔘CHAPTER 26c
103 But I do not know of what happiness to which thou referest thyself, when thou sayest that we shall be happy when we live with Him in His kingdoms. For it hath been taught unto us that there is only one kingdom after this life, and that it is the kingdom of Osiris.
104 And when I die, it hath been taught unto me by the priests of Osiris, and also the priests of our other gods, that I shall rule and reign in the afterlife, as I shall rule and reign here. And that all men shall fulfill the destiny that the gods have given unto them, both here upon this earth, and in the afterlife.
105 And Ubaid answered him, saying: What thinkest thou, my friend, of my life and the position in this life that I hold? Dost thou not know the suffering of those that are not of thy class? Is it so, that we must suffer in the afterlife, because we are not of the class to which thou belongest?
106 And would thou wantest that I suffer in the afterlife as I have suffered here, as a servant to thy father and to his priests? Remember when we played together in our youth, and I was elected pharaoh over us, and you subjected yourself unto me, that we might play out the desires of our hearts as children?
107 Were we not happy believing that we were equal, and that we were brothers? And did thou not findest joy and acceptance and love in my house with my parents and with my brothers and my sisters? Rememberest thou the time, when thou wanted to change places with me, and have me dress in thy royal garments, and have my garments, even the vestment of a slave, put upon thee? And we exchanged our clothes, and laughed and played in them.
108 And thou would bow down before me and do what I commanded of thee. Rememberst thou, what it was that I commanded thee to do at that time? Behold, I commanded thee to always be my best friend and my brother, and always remember me when thou sittest upon the throne of thy father? And thou promised me that I would always be thy friend, and that thou wouldst never have a cause to forget me. And in this promise, thou hast been faithful.
109 And because of the promise of thy love for me, thou hast taken it upon thyself to administer the sentence that thy father hath pronounced upon my head. And with this pronouncement, thou shalt be able to keep the rest of the promise that thou madest unto me in our youth, even that thou wouldst always remember me.
110 And after hearing these words from Ubaid, Akhenaton fell again upon his friend and wept, saying: Oh, my beloved Ubaid, I shall never forget thee. I beg of thee, tell me that which thou wouldst have me do in honor of thy memory, that thou mightest know that I shall keep the promise I have made unto thee all the days of my life.
111 Now, this was the thing that Ubaid had hoped his friend would say. For he knew that the word of the son of a pharaoh was just as binding as the word of the Pharaoh himself. And Ubaid spoke again, saying: I would that thou spendest the last few days of my life with me, that I might teach unto thee all the things which I have learned from the God of which I have spoken.
112 And after thou hast listened to my words, I would that thou shouldst remember these words, even as thou sittest upon the throne of thy father. And even if thou should only remember my words, then that would be the greatest honor that I could receive from thee as my friend.
113 And it came to pass that Akhenaton did that which Ubaid had requested of him. And for many days he would go into the prison where Ubaid was being held captive and listen to the words of this prophet of God.
114 And the Holy Ghost came upon Akhenaton, and he believed the things which he had been taught by Ubaid. And in this manner, the Lord prepared a way whereby the Egyptian nation could receive his words, even by way of one of their kings.
115 And it came to pass that the day arrived in which Akhenaton was forced to administer the sentence of death unto Ubaid. And this administration of death was done according to the desire of he who was administering it.
116 And Akhenaton had searched among all the land for that which would administer death in such a way that Ubaid would not feel any pain. And he found a poison that would do this thing. And this poison would cause Ubaid to fall asleep before taking his life.
117 And with great anxiety and heaviness of heart Akhenaton went in unto his friend for the last time. And he wept exceedingly upon the breast of Ubaid. And Ubaid did also weep with him.
118 And when the time came for the administration of the poison, Akhenaton could not administer it unto Ubaid. And Akhenaton took the poison in his hand and was desirous to take it himself, not wanting to see his beloved friend die before his eyes.
119 But Ubaid reached forth his hand and stopped his friend from administering the poison unto himself. And Ubaid could not take the poison himself, for it was required by the law that it be administered unto him by the hand of Akhenaton. For if he would have taken the poison himself, Akhenaton would not have kept the oath that he had made to his father and to the people of Egypt, and then would the death of Ubaid be for nothing, and Akhenaton would lose the throne of his father.
120 And it came to pass that with the last strength that he had in him, Ubaid took hold of the wrists of Akhenaton, and he folded his hands around the trembling hands of his friend. And with much struggle at first, Ubaid forced the hand of Akhenaton to administer the poison unto him.
121 And upon eating the poison from the hand of Akhenaton, Ubaid looked at his friend for the last time, and smiled upon him, and said unto him: Remember the thing that thou hast promised me. I am your friend and your brother forever. It is done. And with these words, Ubaid gave up the ghost. And Akhenaton held the body of Ubaid for many hours thereafter. And as a spirit, Ubaid was then able to speak the consoling words of comfort to his friend, Akhenaton. And through the ministrations of the spirit world, Akhenaton was comforted.
122 And it came to pass that Akhenaton sat upon the throne of Egypt after his father died. And he caused the things that he had learned from Ubaid to be taught to the people. And he also withdrew the government support previously given to the priests of the other gods, and caused all to worship one god, even the God that he had been taught to worship by Ubaid.
123 And it came to pass that while Akhenaton lived and sat upon the throne of his fathers, many of the people began to turn from the traditions of their fathers and worship God. But the priests were numerous and influential among the people, evensomuch that they succeeded in terrifying the fearful people into believing that if they obeyed Akhenaton, they would suffer the wrath of the other gods that they had been taught to believe in by their ancestors.
124 And it came to pass that after the death of Akhenaton, the priests of Egypt once again turned the people to all manner of wickedness and idolatry.🌿🌿🌿

I think he (Ahkenaten) might've been onto something.
Tutankhamen was probably controlled to bring back the old religion and erase as much of his dad's legacy and once he served his purpose he was killed too.
Think about it. The old pantheon meant priests representing the multitudes of gods would have had no job or purpose.

First there was Amun ("the Hidden One").
The Aten arose (represented as a living manifestation by Akhenaten).
Amun was obscured by the Aten (similarly as people who look at the sun can see nothing else).
Amun conceptually was still there as it had been before the brightness of the Aten came forward.
Then, the Aten set as symbolized by the deathof Akhenaten.
Since the Aten has passed on, Amun was again more prominent because the conceptual blinding brightness of the Aten was gone.
Tut-Ankh-Aten changed his name after the death of Akhenaten in part to conceptually represent that the Aten was gone and Amun was again as prominent to be (seen?) as it had been before the Aten.

The Egyptian museum has a number of sarcophagi that would suit regular size people and a smaller number that are 10' long. He, his wife and children are depicted with the elongated heads (common amongst the Egyptian ruling class) but like many other Pharoahs, Akhenaten wore huge headdresses for a practical reason. Previous Pharoahs had themselves portrayed through perfect styalised images, he commissioned artwork that portrayed him and his family as they were, however strange they looked.

The reason why why all these religions are similar (father, Mother, son etc) is because they all worshipped and studied the constellations which tell one story. Each put thier own spin on it. Psalms 19:1. And the heavens declare your glory. Thats why the bible refers to all the major kingdoms who had similar gods. (Sumeria, Babylonian, Assyria, Egyptian, Persia, Greece, Rome, and Papal Rome). Same similar story, same God and Son story. The true understanding being hidden from most which is still debated today in our many religions which study the same stars and constellations. Each having its own spin on the original true story.

He did not try to ban or eliminate other deities.
Consider the concept that the Aten (solar disk) when present hides everything in its blinding brightness.
The hidden nature and aspect of Amun (known as "the Hidden One") is more perfectly hidden in the presence of the Aten that dominates vision.
An observer who looks directly at the disk of the sun (the Aten) will see and be blinded by its brightness.
Amun is a hidden deity and the brightness of the Aten can blind observers from being able to see Amun (which is already hidden).
The hidden nature or aspect of Amun is therefore strengthened or magnified by the Aten.
The conceptual relationship and logic were expressed by Akhenaten's designs that are complex and logically true to the Aten and to Amun.
Further consider that references to Amun were diminished (made less prominent) in presence of the Aten (because Akhenaten elevated the Aten to greater prominence by conceptually demonstrating the Aten's presence).
Later, after Akhenaten (who had represented the Aten), Amun (notionally) emerged again.
The change of name of Akhenaten's son (proper successor to the throne) from Tut-Ankh-Aten to Tut-Ankh-Amun completed the symbolism of Akhenaten having represented the Aten.
It is all a conceptual representation of the Aten having risen to prominence in living form as Akhenaten.
The Aten then set like the sun with the passage of Akhenaten.
Amun (that had always been present and hidden even in the light or presence of the Aten) regained its prominence (as the Hidden One).
The label of "heretic" is mistakenly applied to Akhenaten.
The status of "the Hidden One" was not diminished by it being hidden by the prominence of the Aten.
Akhenaten was not a heretic against the Egyptian deities. He did not diminish or try to abolish the traditional order but instead he let the conceptual natures and aspects of the deities be expressed in his (Amarna) designs.
    There was Amun.
The Aten then rose and people could see its brightness.
The Aten later set with the death of Akhenaten.
Again, there was Amun (symbolically represented by the names of his son (and also his daughter who became queen).
There was no heresy or conflict.
The Restoration Stele of Tutankhamun is also greatly misunderstood.

You can't have one without the other. Seems incomplete that you held off mention until the end. They were inseparable. She should have been mentioned sooner.

People say the Lotus flower (the ones that are ALL OVER the walls in carvings etc. they were VERY special to the ancient Egyptians) was used to make some kind of brew or something that made you trip. Sun worship is baked into the bible too. 12 disciples = 12 zodiac signs , Jesus (the sun) turned water (rain) into wine. etc. etc. there is just so much evidence to suggest this. Go watch the first Zeitgeist movie on RUclips. @le troll think maybe you need to do some research on the ancient tablets and ancient scrolls that the Bible was obviously written from! God did not come down and tell these people what to write! Besides that the 12 disciples were all illiterate and none of their books were written to at least 200 years after their life, some 800,000 years later after they died! This was all disappointing to me as I was a lifelong Christian! Told my wife I was going to find out exactly who God is, and when I found out it was disappointing! The god of Israel, his name is Enlil and he needs a spaceship or a wormhole to come to this planet! I don't pray to somebody that needs a spaceship to come and see what's going on, or pray to someone who has a satellite rotating Earth so he knows what's going on! What people call God is nothing more than really high technology from the ancient gods AKA the annunaki. Don't come on telling people how they're wrong and God is this and God is that when you haven't done the proper research! I believe what I was told all of my life until 12 years ago I started doing deep research, once I had a computer. I hope that you have a long healthy happy life with high mental acuity and good fortune! Because you know as well as I do you can pray for something for 20 years and you will never get it, only if you work for it and achieve it for yourself! It's obvious there is no God who watches out for us and the planet because if so children wouldn't get raped and murdered people would not go to war and kill each other for what the politicians argue about! When if you keep working all of your life for a God that doesn't exist you will just die stupid ignorant and disappointed! Not me no matter how difficult the truth is I need to know it!

Although it has become politically incorrect in 2020 the fact is Egypt has been controlled by several different races including mostly North African Egyptians, black Nubians for a short period, caucasian Greeks, as well as the caucasian Indoeuropean multigenerational dynasty of Akenaten. When the DNA of Akenaten's son Tutankaten was sequenced it was found to most closely match northern European males, specifically northern Wales. The dynasty of Akenaten were Hyksos invaders from Central Asia. The biblical exodus was the migration out of Egypt by the Hyksos after several generations of taking over Egypt. Moving north they founded the city of Troy. The Egyptians called them the Cymry, which is what the Welsh still call themselves. The Welsh going back as far as the roman invasion have always claimed to be descended from Brutus of Troy. The name Scotland is said to come from an Egyptian princess by the name of Scota who was married far off in Britain as was the custom to seal alliances. Don't assume because they didn't have 747's that they did not travel great distances. Humans have always travelled far and wide. These facts have been written of for hundreds of years, if one bothers to turn the TV off and actually read books. lol

The link was made when the image of a young white kid was shown representing Akhenaten. Why was he depicted as such when he could have been depicted as a young black male with Nubian and Egyptian heritage? There weren't any Europeans in positions of power in ancient Egypt. Their world power status was to come centuries later starting with the Persian empire. In the meantime according to Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, rulership over mankind was given to the sons of Ham which includes the Egyptians (who are Africans themselves) black Africans, and other dark-skinned people. It seems that everybody, especially European scholars, wants in on being identified with a great and glorious empire and civilization. Unfortunately, this is not possible. Why do you assume white equals Europeans? Europe was the LAST place 'white' people got to. These blue eyed fair skinned people came from East to West and not the other way around. The reason he was not shown as black with Nubian heritage is because the genomic studies (Schuenemann, V. J. et al. Nature Commun. 8, 15694 (2017)of mummies buried in the New Kingdom between 1380 BC and 425 AD show that the mummies’ closest kin were ancient farmers from a region that includes present-day Anatolia, Israel and Jordan. Modern Egyptians, by contrast, have inherited more of their DNA from central Africans. Genomic material showed that ancient Egyptians shared little DNA with modern sub-Saharan Africans. Instead, their closest relatives were people living during the Neolithic and Bronze ages in an area known as the Levant. Strikingly, the mummies were more closely related to ancient Europeans and Anatolians than to modern Egyptians. The researchers say that there was probably a pulse of sub-Saharan African DNA into Egypt roughly 700 years ago. The mixing of ancient Egyptians and Africans from further south means that modern Egyptians can trace 8% more of their ancestry to sub-Saharan Africans than can the mummies from Abusir el-Meleq. Unravelled Mummies (like that of Ramesses 11) are blonde or red haired. The ancient Egyptian statues of their Pharaohs and nobility have blue eyes. The same deep blues we see in ancient Sumerian statues of their gods and nobility. 30 million Berbers are African, but can certainly not be called black/Nubian. The indiginous Ainu people of Japan are more ' Caucusoid' than anything else. One of the largest international studies(2018) in ancient DNA studies ever conducted in Israel shows found early Inhabitants of Israel 6,500 years ago were blue-eyed and fair-skinned. Ancient Ethiopians were described by Heroditus as the fairest of all people. Genetic research has shown that the oldest (4,500 years) mummies in the Tarim Basin in China are 'Caucasoid', whereas East Asian people did not show up until 3,000 years ago. DNA from 6,000 year old remains in Newgrange, Ireland is shared with the Pharoahs. People moved everywhere all over the planet. The great Toltec civilisation in South America in the 10th. to the 12th. Century were black. NONE of this matters. The mother of all conflict is the fallacy of Diversity. Their is but one LIFE manifesting in all forms. There is but one SELF manifesting through all selves. There is but one LOVE manifesting through all loves.

If Tut was Akhenaten's son, he would have succeeded immediately when Akhenation died. (13:32) But Akhenaten was succeeded by "Neferneferuaten" for at least a brief period. This was presumably Queen Nefertiti, who had served as regent earlier. There are images of Akhenaten mating with his daughters. Perhaps the Egyptian public needed reassurance that their pharaoh was working deligently on the problem creating a male heir of pure royal blood.

I've heard conjecture that Akenaten is also known as Moses, as the last Hyksos pharoah, and him and his people were chased out of Egypt and wandered into the desert...

      sounds like drug-induced conjecture.
Moses: late 13th Dynasty (per Rohl, Manetho)
Last Hyksos Pharaoh: 15th Dynasty was Khamudi (Manetho)
      Akhenaten: late 18th Dynasty (Manetho)
In addition to written records, these dates align strongly with archaeological evidence.
While the date of Moses is disputed, there's not one genuine accredited (educated or professional) historian or archaeologist who equate the Hyksos with the 18th dynasty (which itself is defined by its defeat of Khamudi some 200+ years earlier by the first pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, Ahmose).

How can we act to be certain about the past, when we don't see the present? In my life, 4 cycles have come to an end -> 5000, 500, 50 and 5 ... the cycle of 5000 years started in my life as Khayat, the Maya Moon High Priestess that married twice the SUN GOD. The first one was Ry'an, a blond man with blue eyes (eyes like the sky and hair like the sun) and he became her yaoweh (the protector of the high priestesses) when she went to Egypt on a boat. In Egypt, she married Amon Ra, the brother of her sister in law, Thi'ya and took care of Akhenaten, who was severely handicapped. She gave her sister in law two children, Maya and Intikaya (a boy), but when she came to know the secret of the 'healed Akhenaton (Akhnaton with the same ch sound like in Khayat), she refused to take part of that ritual anymore. This is inside information and it has nothing to do with my life, except for the fact that she used the deaf-blind language, we know thanks to Hellen Keller (nothing is really new, but there are times that we forget them). I know Hellen Keller because of the move we had to see during my study (logopedic sciences) and I remember that the first word, she 'remembered to say, was WATER and that's improtant for the spiritual side of my present life. We have incredible tools to learn what we need to know, but put everything on hold because we fear the 'Master'. The package that I have to teach you is too big for one life (and the circumstances were extremely toxic), so I first had to seperate the nobody from the body (the nobody is connected wit my sleep consciousness) to see what I can do in this life and how I can pass it over to women that are on the same level. Life is passing on the torch and now, I've acquired the status of the high priestess (Keeper of the Ka) again, I can eliminate the powers that kept me into limbo for at least 12 years. I am the Teacher (ka) and not the Master (ba), but have to empathize with the mistress to show that women don't always have a choice. My brain works 24/7 and when I am in a deep sleep, I communicate on a telepathic level, that is not restricted to this only timeline (and it works with thoughts and insights, not with voices). It is my choice to share it with the collective, so people know that I have the best intentions and always try to keep a healthy balance between the collective needs and my own, but I can't say that it is a big success - a group of people made a ring around me and try to 'milk' me as if I was their cow. That brings me to the fact that I am writing in the comment box of RUclips videos, I'd rather kept my Facebook account, but they thought that was too much liberty for a 'sinner' like me. It's a war on a mental level, but the psyche is connected to the ka (the female & spiritual level or the Teacher), while the mental condition is at the level of the ba (male & material or the Master). I am the ONE expected, but my story has been filled in so many times already that I have to make a undeniable statement, being the Teacher and not the Lord. We are all autonomous cells of the oldest organism on earth and we mirror her systems to survive, but now, we have become her auto-immune disease and oblige her to take immediate action. Those action will look like God's revenge, so the religious dictators will have a lead at the beginning and that's why I am preparing you to change your thinking patterns - it's not a punishment but a warning sign and we have the level we need to understand why this is so urgent. I only can do what they let me do, trusting me without questioning the learning model. It started to go wrong after my mother died and my time is very limited, so I have to be smart and bold - there is no time to lose anymore!

All valid points. Our understanding of this period is always evolving as new scientific methods are applied.
Going back to the predynastic period when there were some 40 nomes(states) each with their own titular deity, Heliopolis did have a sun god, Atum reinvented as Ra later when the city evolved to be a center of sun worship. And Amun was the titular deity of Thebes, which became Amun-Ra later.
It seems when a nome gained political power, its titular deity increased in stature as is the case of Memphis, the first capital of a united Egypt whose God Ptah increased in importance as his statues were found everywhere in Egypt at that time. And there were several creation myths floating around as well. The one most cited, the Ennead, rose in the 5th Dynasty.
So how to interpret Akhenaten's rearranging the religio-political hierarchy? I suspect that rise of Amun-Ra may have been the catalyst for Akhenaten to return to the worship of older god, Ra to reestablish his authority. So perhaps he envisioned the city he built as the new Heliopolis using the symbol of the sun disk or Aten to define what aspect of Ra he wanted to worship? Unlike our static concept of deity, the ancients mixed and matched various aspects of deities to reflect political realities. This is seen in the Egyptian Hellenic period with weird looking deities.
This is conjecture on my part as we don't know what the ancient Egyptians thought, no political treatises have been discovered. It seems politics and religion were one and the same thing. Perhaps that would explain why Akhenaten was reviled, the capital moved back to Thebes and Arnarna forgotten?
As for the DNA evidence, I had thought that this issue was settled, so why you'd doubt this evidence is interesting. Do you have evidence to support your claim that Akhenaten was not Tut's father?

Here we go again making ancient Egyptians White.
The native ancient Egyptians were Black-Africans. I wish that this was illustrated when depicting Akhenathen in this documentary. Here are quotes from ancient and near-modern scholars indicating that they were Black:
“Herodotus says: ‘The Egyptians said that they believed the Colchians to be descended from the army of Sesostris. My own conjectures were founded, first, on the fact that they were black-skinned and have wooly hair’” (Diop, 1974/1955, p. xv).
Diodorus of Sicily (90 BC - 30 BC) was a Greek historian that wrote the following: “The Ethiopians say that the Egyptians are one of their colonies which was brought into Egypt by Osiris . . . . They add that from them, as from their authors and ancestors, the Egyptians get most of their laws. It is from them that the Egyptians have learned to honor kings as gods and bury them with such pomp; sculpture and writing were invented by the Ethiopians. The Ethiopians cite evidence that they are more ancient than the Egyptians” (Diop, 1974/1955, p. 2).
Herodotus asserts that “‘It is certain that the natives of the country [Egypt] are black with the heat” (Diop, 1974/1955, p. 1).
“The opinions of all the ancient writers on the Egyptian race is more or less summed up by Gaston Maspero (1846-1916): ‘By the almost unanimous testimony of ancient historians, they belonged to an African race [read: Negro]’ which first settled in Ethiopia, on the Middle Nile; following the course of the river, they gradually reached the sea’”’ (Diop, 1974/1955, p. 2).
French philosopher, Count Constantin de Volney (1757 - 1820) described the Sphinx as “‘typically Negro in all its features, I remembered the remarkable passage where Herodotus says: ‘As for me, I judge the Colchians to be a colony of the Egyptians because, like them, they are black with woolly hair . . . . ‘ In other words, the ancient Egyptians were true Negroes of the same type as all native-born Africans. That being so, we can see how their blood, mixed for several centuries with that of the Romans and Greeks, must have lost the intensity of its original color, while retaining nonetheless the imprint of its original mold” (Diop, 1974/1955, p. 27).
The French philosopher, Count Constantin de Volney (1757 - 1820) described the Sphinx as “‘typically Negro in all its features’”(Diop, 1974/1955, p. 27).
Upon learning that the ancient Egyptians were Black, French philosopher, Count Constantin de Volney (1757 - 1820), remarks on how faulty it was to believe that Blacks were less intelligent than Whites. Volney states, “What a subject for meditation, to see the present barbarism and ignorance of the Copts, descendants of the alliance between the profound genius of the Egyptians and the brilliant minds of the Greeks! Just think that this race of black men, today our slave and the object of our scorn, is the very race to which we owe our arts, sciences, and even the use of speech! Just imagine, finally, that it is in the midst of peoples who call themselves the greatest friends of liberty and humanity that one has approved the most barbarous slavery and questioned whether black men have the same kind of intelligence as Whites” (Diop, 1974/1955, p. 28).
Cut it out with the White supremacy.

I hope you realize that 1. Archeologist idenified Akhenaten's mother Queen Tiye's mommy whose hair still remains in great condition. It is reddish brown and a slightly wavy silky texture, not at all kinky or afro 2. Both him and his son king Tut has been DNA sequenced and been matched to the haplogroup most commonly found in males in western europe nowadays (R1b1a2). To say they were black is simply not factual, sorry. There were some pharaohs and queens of nubian origin (Kushiita period), but the black african theory in general has been debunked many times by respected archeologist over and over. We don't even have to look at DNA sequencing, the simplest evidence is egyptian art itself. Egyptians knew exactly how to represent different skin colors, they used white or pinkish white for greeks, romans etc., dark brown or black for nubians and reddish brown or lighter reddish shades for the themselves. If they were black, they would have painted themselves as black. If they were white european they would have painted themselves as white. They did neither.

    • @jdt25
      @jdt25 3 года назад +7

@@JustChillingOnTattoine so I suppose all of the scholars I quoted, most of whom were White, were lying or their vision was compromised? Also, it seems that you’re unaware of the phenotypic and genotypic diversity of Africans. There is more genetic variation in Africans than any other group because Africans are humanity’s parents, so to speak. All of the ancient Egyptians were African, as they came from Ethiopia and the Sudan. According to African historian, John G. Jackson, “there are many physical varieties of African peoples. [However,] the complex skin tones of Africans are mainly black and brown. Most of the light-skinned people in Africa today are latecomers and interlopers. They have later or no relationship to African ancient history. The Egyptians are a distinct African people. They did not originally come from Europe or Asia. Their history and their culture started in what is now Ethiopia and the Sudan” (Jackson, 2001, p. 6). Not all Africans are jet Black!
With that being said, often times when ancient Egyptians (Kemites) are depicted in mainstream Western society, the art work showing ancient Egyptian women will commonly be highlighted to lend credence to the idea that the ancient Egyptians were not indigenous Africans, but that they were White (although with a tan), fair skinned or Asian. However, many are unaware that men were depicted with dark skin and women were depicted with light skin for symbolic reasons. Often (although not always), the women’s true skin tone did not actually look it was portrayed in Egyptian art. The ancient Egyptians believed that every level of reality was characterized by the coupling of opposites or duality (e.g., order-chaos, positive-negative, light-dark, symbolic masculine-feminine, etc.), so they painted men with dark-skin and women with light-skin in order to convey this dualistic reality. The coupling of opposites (e.g., dark-light) represented wholeness. In short, the symbolic masculine was depicted as dark, and the symbolic feminine was depicted as light. Black or darkness often represented life, and white often represented the afterlife. Some erroneously argue that the men were depicted with dark skin because they likely worked in the fields and the women did not, so the men were darker due to their exposure to the sun. However, this is also not true, as men and women both worked in the fields. Men and women were viewed as equals in ancient Egypt, unlike ancient Greece. This is why in ancient Egypt, male gods were always paired with female gods (goddesses), as men and women were both viewed as divine equals.
The ancient Egyptians would paint the skin of men with red ocre, as red symbolized life and vitality. They would depict women with yellow skin, as yellow was used to symbolize that which was eternal and indestructible, like the sun. The colors black and green symbolized fertility and resurrection.
Also, it’s been found that many of the reliefs on the temple walls where the ancient Egyptians are depicted, have been lightened by people that are restoring them. According to Professor Manu Ampim, “when the artifacts in question were examined meticulously, I found that the methods used to change or damage the images are varied, and they include: subtly altering the shape of the nose on statues by using some type of tomb sanding device; adding on false noses; reshaping or completely destroying the face on temple and eliminating the paint on statues and paintings and thus making the images appear ‘white’; destroying the lower facial structure, particularly the chin and jaw area; putting in false bluish-gray inlaid eyes; plastering over temple images with White Portland Cement during ongoing ‘conservation’ work; and creating outright forgeries! These acts of fraud and deliberate destruction is what I call the handiwork of modern conspirators. I was stunned by such an angry, vicious, and widespread attack against Black images by the enemies of Classical African Civilizations” (Ampim, 2001).

First: Egyptian priests were ritual actors, stewards, and directors of the riches and properties of the god's temple. Not exactly religious by vocation. The temple was an earthly home of the god and not a shrine for devotees. Second: the Aten of Akhnaton is nothing then the ancient creator god Ra, revised and modernized. This new god only served the royal family, the rest of the people needed this intermediation. Soon: Akhnaton was a smart politician who blasted the ancient religious system in his favor. When he died, he was banished from egyptian culture and completely forgotten, he was just a charlatan trying to gain more power. Aten was a deprived god of this pharaoh Akhnaton continued the dismantling of the powerful clergy, acting just as his father and predecessor tried to act, with less objectivity. The monotheism of that time is very opportunistic and clearly factional
