I love your videos so much, it’s so satisfying to see something so old brought back to life! I have a Durabrand cassette player i bought off Etsy and the audio crackles no matter what tape I have in or what headphones I use, I’ll have to used one of your videos to help me go through the process of picking it apart and putting it back together for sure ! 😂
A guy walks up to Bee and be like, "I have this thing that needs to be restored. It was burned in a fire, dropped from the top of a 30 story building, buried in a march for 10 years, and eaten by a crocodile." Bee be like, "Not enough of a challenge." Walks away as the 'thing' explodes, not looking back because he's too cool.
I would like to say to the author the following: Great work ! I like how meticulously you cleaned the mechanism and lubrified everything with the wd40.Your patience doing such a job and the attention payed for every detail shows how much you love electronics and what are you capable of. Two things I would have done differently, change the speaker with a better one, adapt a modern one because it would sound better. It is well known that old small speakers don't have trebles and sound stuffy. And probably would have looked to find a piece of plexiglas which could fit for the door instead working the original cracked one. This would of course made the thing not original but probably a little bit better in my opinion. At least that speaker I would throw it right away and put one similar from small mono bluetooth speaker and maybe the amplifier as well.3 watt Class D amp wouldn't drain the batteries more than the old one.
Great job and I can tell that's the real sound of the unit unlike others who pretend and are using something else. Try restoring a panasonic take n tape rq 7115 those were very popular in the 70's and are collectable now. Would be profitable for sale on the internet.

WHEREWAS THIS TAPE RECORDER SITTING FOR 40 OR 50 YEARS? IN SOMEONES WATER FILLED CELLAR? I HAVE A VERY SIMILIAR ONE I BOUGHT IN 1974. STILL LOOKS AND PLAYS LIKE NEW. WHATSWRONG WITH PEOPLE? HOW DO THEY GET TO THIS POINT? IS THERE NO PRIDE IN TAKING CARE OF THING?
I went to the video to see a restoration and after 19 minutes I could only see a person who completely disassembles a cassette to partially clean it and reassemble it with the dirty parts, but when I get to the time to restore the cassette cover I regain the illusion of seeing good job and all I see is time wasted in reducing plastic and applying resin to obtain a horrible result... It's very good to dismantle everything piece by piece and do things, but if when you put it together it doesn't look new or similar to new then it's not the same, but the appearance of this cassette after the "work" is so horrible that I think that the only thing that can be said in the title is "basic cleaning and commissioning"... I am an admirer of any work carried out in a better or worse way and I have never negatively criticized other people's work because I am not perfect when it comes to doing my restorations either but I consider this video to be a scam and a waste of time... If you had rubbed the parts of the mechanism to remove those grease and wear stains and then rubbed off the rust and used some product to protect the metal then it would have been something normal and well done, and if you had removed the parts from the cassette cover to remove the yellow glue and you would have cut out the transparent window to place a piece of new acrylic and really improve the appearance and rubbed and polished the back cover of the cassette then YES it could be called a restoration, in this case the only thing you have done is clean it basic shape and reinforce the lid with resin without achieving a much better appearance than it had at the beginning... Honestly, it's hard for me to say these things but I feel totally disappointed when I see something like this because because of these types of videos people then think that by washing with soap and water and putting a little grease in some places they have already restored a device and I'm sorry but the word RESTORE has the meaning of repairing, renewing or putting something back in the state or estimate it previously had (or failing that, as close as possible) but in this case there is nothing similar to restoration because you have not You have not renewed anything, you have only cleaned and started the device, which I value because you have carried out basic maintenance and made it work well, but you should not call "Restoration" something that is not...

Can’t believe how amazingly over engineered this recorder is compared to the recorders that would come after it.
