    Possessed Portal is basically a one card wincon in this deck, blocking draws, forcing discards and sacrifices. If it starts hurting you too much you just sac it to itself.

    I've been looking at a lot of Tergird decks lately but am still surprised that I haven't seem some certain cards show up at all. This was the first one to suggest Words of Waste.
    Cards that I'm seeing a few of:
    - Words of Waste
    - Necrogen Mists
    - Desolation
    - Mind Slash
    Card I'm not seeing:
    - Triumph of Cruelty
    - Oppression
    Situational cards:
    - Warped Devotion
    - Gloom
    - Deathgrip
    -
    Endbringer's Revel
    Warped Devotion is good against bounce decks and can be made into a combo if you get bounce engine going. Gloom is good against white and can keep white spells stuck in your opponents hands longer for you to poach for yourself. Similarly to Gloom, Deathgrip can deter opponents from casting green spells which you can nab for your self when you make them discard, it also has the added benefit of protecting from most artifact/enchantment removal. Both cards can help you slow down your opponents plays or just force them to make sub-optimal plays.
    Endbringer's Revel might be interesting to use as a form of reanimator strategy to recur your opponents creatures from the graveyard to their hand then make them discard them for you to use. It has some risk in that it does give everyone a recursion tool which can be dangerous angst cerein decks. Though these cards are fairly situational.

      Even though a lot of these are situational, they're still great cards. I suggested a lot of hosers in my Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale knight tribal deck in the form of all of those knights that both counter spells of specific colors as well as destroying permanents of a specific color. So Deathgrip especially can be very oppressive if you combine it with Painter's Servant.
      Mind Slash is also an amazing card and actually quite the bomb in my Commander Cube. Since you're stealing creatures away from opponents, chances are you'll always have things to pitch to it to make opponents discard cards.

      @@TheCommanderTavern I actually like Deathgrip with Balduvian Shaman if you're running blue and have a blink effect. Color changing cards like that and Painter Servant also pair well with Breath of Dreams. I especially like how these are kind of obscure cards so most opponents won't be ready for them and they are cheap.

    @6:30: Rankles effects have to be applied in order, so if they are empty handed, you can only make them draw, you can not make them first draw then discard, the discard always happens first. Otherwise, great deck tech! :-)

    The play style of Tergrid reminds me a lot of a Shauku, Endbringer deck that I built, except Tergrid can win! Painful Quandary could almost be considered a win condition in this deck. Mind Rake is an underrated card that could work too

    • @TheCommanderTavern
      @TheCommanderTavern  3 года назад +1

      Both excellent suggestions! I also updated the list to include Memory Jar. For some reason I thought it was ridiculously expensive a la Wheel of Fortune but it's actually quite cheap all things considered. Very cheap, in fact.

    peer into the abyss ?? surely making someone draw half their deck would be good.

    • @TheCommanderTavern
      @TheCommanderTavern  3 года назад +1

      It would if you could cast it in response to their end step so they could discard almost half their library. The problem is that drawing half their deck means potentially getting more than enough answers to deal with either Tergrid or your boardstate.

    you would say this is a High power deck?

    • @TheCommanderTavern
      @TheCommanderTavern  3 года назад +1

      It's high-powered but not cEDH. There is no such thing as a "tame" or "casual" Tergrid deck; the commander simply doesn't allow it.
