Is this a new method, can cavity batts still be allowed to drip into the bottom of the cavity, also if this method is used the bit behind the dpc at the bottom cannot be insulated, how do you make up for that.
Hi, very useful video thanks for sharing. I can see you have the door opening internal and external leafs on the same height with a cavity in between. I have the same buildup and now about to get the bifold fitted and having difficulty what to do with that cavity. The bifold will sit on the outer wall and there is an empty cavity and blockwork behind then the dpm and slab. I cannot find an info how to build that gap. I would just use a cavity closer and add insulation and screed to get a continuous subfloor. Any advice?
This might be a dumb question, but how does the mortar adhere to the DPC? Are you creating a structural break between two courses of masonry with the DPC layer?
I think it’s just way over the top these days with hsb building but yes ur right mucks up proper installation of insulation properly cause cold spot and I’m sure he has missed dpm for inside when floor gets poured laps in to the floor dpm

What build up of floor are you having?
Insulated and concreted?
Or timber?

This is what I want to know!
Do you put weep holes on outer leaf for the water droplet to came out?
Do you chase wall for vertical dpc if so how deep and do you seal off with what a gun sealant or cement, thanks in advance 👍
