- After making this prototype for a friend I know what I'd like to do different next time. Hopefully I'll have an opportunity to do more and get a solid design drawing the local fab shop could use to rip out the pieces on the water jet for some production work.

Thicker steel and diamond plate on top! My 50 year old 3/8 inch steel bumper is still undamaged.

Came out great! A little rust converter paint on the trailer hitch and it would all look fine. Using plate would probably be better in terms of cost, but this one looks good as is. Might try diamond plate for the top of the bumper.
Think Im gonna give your design a try. Like the idea of using channel for backbone. Will get back to you when its done.

I see improvement if you can match somewhat the contour of original bumper on either end where it meets up with the contour of the fender. Yes lower mounting will be more proportional. And lic Plate fits .

I think I'd opt to make it about 2" wider on each side to protect the rear fender trailing rockers. Put me down as an interested party if you get into manufacturing. I would also want some additional tweaks. Good job otherwise.
Seal it and fill with antifreeze in winter for added weight.

How much did it put you back to build it?
I know the person made something always is there worst critic I have to make a rear and front bumper for my 95 silverado. If you dont mind but I'm gonna make the same bumper for mine that bumper looked awesome. What did you paint it with por 15. Gm should give everyone there money back on the trucks they bought from mid 99 to early 2007. The 08 to 2013 are bad to o but I live in genesee county and everyone has a gm truck and those era trucks everyone had to get rid of the trucks after 5yrs or do extensive bodywork because there prematurely rotted away. Everything else though will last forever I know like 6 people who still have that body style with over 250000 miles with same drivetrain. Here in Michigan its popular to buy 88 to 98 chevy or GMC and put drivetrains from 99 to 2007 trucks. I'm gonna put a 2008 6.0 in my truck with a 480le. But thanks for the video and again I liked your bumper a lot
