Crazy that Clint Eastwood dug out his '72 Torino to drag race in Stanton, Michigan! What sort of cars do you want to see in future videos? Leave a comment!
I couldn't wait for more amazing drag races!💪🏁 I enjoy every drag race with a muscle car of the golden era. I would like to see for example a Plymouth B-body '71 - '74, or E-body '70 - '74. Thanks.
Any car from this era, 1950/1980 or even later there are some good cars made in the 80s and early 90s. You know I would also love to see some old Jags, M/Benz and BMWs from the 70s getting thrashed by some real US cars from the 60's, go on it would make my day.
A 1971 Boss 351 Mustang 4 speed. I’m not a fan of the body style but these cars tested out back in the day as the quickest factory stock Mustangs ever produced.
I will be doing future segments in future videos showcasing viewers classic rides (chosen at random). If you want yours featured, please email me pictures at carsandzebras@gmail.com.
My first car. Grab Torino Sport. Lt. blue as in the brochure. 351 Cleveland. Bucket seats. Automatic w/console. White vinyl top. I was 18 & ordered it from the factory. $4,200.00 approx. sold it 5 years later. 2nd car was a 75 vette. I still have it. It’s cherry. I’m 70 now. I still miss that Torino!💔
Goodday C & Z, Fantastic to finally have you back on the scene. You did the same thing couple of years ago where you disappeared then you returned. All good hope you are well, wishing you & all the viewers all the best for 2024. Go the Torino Cheers Louis Kats your number 1 Fan in Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 🇺🇸
Louis! Thanks for hanging in there! A lot of good (and busy) things happened in 2023, so I didn't have much time for videos. Should be able to post regularly this year
The strength of the powerglide... One shift... The drawback of the powerglide... One shift.. but has an outstanding reputation on terms of parasitic draw.. as you noted.. great job on everything as always cnz
Beautiful Gran Torino! I bought a '73 Gran Torino Sport back in 1976. It wasn't a rocket by no means, but it did drive great, and it did have ac! My first car with air conditioning. How cool was that? lol. Glad to see some cars running the 1/4 mile with realistic stock times. Want to see more Fords out there running!
I had a white on black 63k mile 72 Torino Sport in the 90's when I lived just outside of Knoxville. I had my neighbor who was an engine builder warm the motor up a bit by installing higher compression pistons, aluminum heads, cam , intake, carb and had his buddy rebuild the C6 with a 2800 stall converter. 404 HP 436 FPT Super nice car. It ran great and I actually drove it to Texas and back after doing all the motor upgrades and it didn't miss a beat. That car in a big open parking lot was a blast!
Of course something came up and I missed the premier. In any event, good racing and two great cars. I'm with you, there's something so pure about that Vette, and the Torino is obviously well cared for. Thanks to both owners for 3 good races. As a Vette owner I'd like to point out - it's always cold here. Seriously, glad to have you back - a healthy and happy 2024 to you! ~ Chuck 🌮 🌮
1971 was the last year of the muscle cars, for the most part. 1972 still had some cool bodies, but HP already started to drop. The Trans Am superduty was the big exception...
Hey glad to see you're back love you're video's. I'd love to have the torino back in the day there was one looked just like this one green was quite popular then. Great video video please keep them coming. 👊👍
I had a 70 Torino GT Ranchero with a slightly massaged 351 4v Cleveland. It made well over 500 hp. Clevelands were very underated. I terrorized the freeways on Oahu with it.
That video was great. Id be happy to have either of those cars. Like seeing mostly if not all original cars from the 60s to the 90s if it's rear drive and V8. My dad had a Torino with the 351 4 barrel and automatic. Not too many around like that one anymore. Id take the top off that Corvette, call in sick from work and hit the road 😅
I was wondering when a new video would come out! I love your videos...I have an original motor 1973 Z-28, hence I would like to see more 2nd. Gen Camaros, specifically 1970-1973...Thank you for the content Cars and Zebras!!
my father had a 62 corvette, had the 340 hp, sold it 4 years ago, owned since 64. he Rev it so high, the fins on generator would bend forward and cut belt. he would always have a Hanmer and spare belt in car, car still has original gen too!! car had 18k miles on it when he sold it!!
Gracias por hacer el primer video del año he incluir al ford Gran Torino serie 385, es mi muscle car favorito, seré super feliz el día que hagas video del ford fairmont futura sport coupe 302 fox body ❤.
i was wondering if you ever find any 1966 dodge D100 sweptlines ever in these race meets if you could give us a stats video, i’d appreciate it, thank you

Great video, as always. These old, factory, stock cars drag racing never gets old to me. Bravo sir.

Can't wait until June for the next video!

Getting the good old Cleveland head eh. Ahh the good ol’ days lol. Glad to see ya back
Hard to believe that Dirty Harry is almost 94 yrs old & can still bang the gears & boogie down the drag strip ✌💖☮
Great to see you back! I thought the gods of YT might've given you the boot...Nice stockish cars here with very realistic numbers!
It's been a minute, C&Z... welcome back. The 351C was an awesome engine, and the '62 Vette is timeless...thanks for posting! 👍
Had a white 72 Torino. 351 SCJ. TRAK PAC The good ol days)
Great to have you back, this race was definitely purely stock 😁 Grand Torino movie is an awesome movie. I've watched it numerous times 👍🏻
It’s great to see you back man, hope your doing good.
Hey glad to see you're back love you're video's. I'd love to have the torino back in the day there was one looked just like this one green was quite popular then. Great video video please keep them coming. 👊👍
Another great overdue video from you!
Glad to see you back.
And as always, love your sense of humor!!
That 72 always looked sexy to me! Love that body style! The Vette did pretty good considering it’s specifications!
We'd like to see a DZ camero and 67 hi-po mustang
The Camaro would win every time mate
Thanks for the video 📹 . Always looking for a new one from you , as I find they're good .
I enjoyed this!
Welcome back CNZ!! You have been missed! I have always enjoyed your videos
Finally!!!…..keep those great videos coming young man!
Nice drag race👌 I guessed correctly that Gran Torino will win😎
I had a 70 Torino GT Ranchero with a slightly massaged 351 4v Cleveland. It made well over 500 hp. Clevelands were very underated. I terrorized the freeways on Oahu with it.
Also had a '67 Cougar with a 289 in high school. Great memories, such as driving down the highway and the hood flipping up over the wind shied.
I believe the 351 CJ rated 266 horses in the Mustang, but I don't think there was actually any real difference between the engines themselves. 🤔😕
Yess I'm so glad to see you back!! And what an awesome race
Love that Torino!
Boy does my ass hurt from the all the guys at my construction job!
Groundbreaking production!
Welcome back with one of your funniest videos ever. Back and on top of your game
Excellent! Thank You
Love the commentary. Your videos are awesome with great cars
I absolutely enjoy your videos.
the Torino would have had those pistons changed to flat tops down here in south Texas and cam it . the heads could handle unlead in 72
That video was great. Id be happy to have either of those cars. Like seeing mostly if not all original cars from the 60s to the 90s if it's rear drive and V8. To be honest both would be nice to go get a pizza in
A lot of people were checking that Corvette out 👍
Thanks, that was pretty cool to see.
Ironically, the powerglide was originally the performance kiss of absolute death.
oh I luuuv that Ford. With that stick its a real unicorn
Ford Torino whooped the Chevy "plastic toy's" butt.
Yes, the cars are awesome….but your narration ? What can I say ? - HILARIOUS ! 🤣. Thanks for another great video….keep ‘em coming.
Torino is one Beautifull Car
Now thats a real corvette!
That corvette would do pretty good in the bracket division.
Gracias por hacer el primer video del año he incluir al ford Gran Torino serie 385, es mi muscle car favorito, seré super feliz el día que hagas video del ford fairmont futura sport coupe 302 fox body ❤.
Good stuff
Would like to see more 50s n 60s Studebaker, maybe other sleepers of the era.
Refresh that 327 and I bet you would have some different results.
Nice cars
I have been a lifelong Corvette guy and have his and hers but I would take that Torino over the 62.
SAme.. friend let me drive his 62, I could barely get in it let alone drive it
Vettes were made for short guys for sure
Nice pair. 100 mile Vette, and a Torino with a gear jammer!
My 1967 chevy small block
Had a Power guide transmission.
First gear ⚙️ was good to 45 mph.
Where u been at 👀 need a mid-late 70s Firebird vs camaro vid
i was wondering if you ever find any 1966 dodge D100 sweptlines ever in these race meets if you could give us a stats video, i’d appreciate it, thank you
Vids and humor are great dont listen to the constipated commenters
Stepmom had this exact car when I was about 6? Same color model 351. It ran hot in the summers and pinged
Check out what goes on at the Tulsa dragstrip, might be worth posting.
My first car was on 1966 Bonneville station wagon with tripower on it and 71 400 2bbl motor underneath the tripower I got from my dad.
I put a warmed up 455 under the Tripower and 3.73 gears.
In at Los Angeles County raceway it would run 13.38 1/4
LACR...ran there many times til it closed down sadly enough.
If you want a Torino guarantee, buy a toaster.
I don't know if the camera angle is playing tricks, but if this were a 1/8th mile track, it appears that this Vette could give that Torino a run for it's money.
It's a new car season, any new videos going to be uploaded?
We didn't land on the moon in 1962! That was 1969! :)
two speed powerslide in the vet? I've surprise it even made it to the tract.
It's been 6 months. What's happening?
Dude, where’s another video, bro?
Christopher Columbus drove to America in the Pinto, Vega, and the Gran Torino.
I was surprised the Torino beat the Vette. It probably would have been a different story if the Vette didn't have so many original miles on it
Do we need all the theatrical production? Thanks
I can see tomorrow's front page Headline***** We landed on the Moon in '62 😀
Eeeeh dude what competition in 1962 ? Hmm let's see, Ford Galaxie 390, Impala 409, Catalina 421, 413 Mopars..
Ford also had the 406 c.i. in 1962. Single 4bbl 385 hp, 3x2bbl 405 hp
Both beauties the Torino got faster every run must have needed some de carbonizing love those one off 72 s same with the 62 vette
