That reminds me off my taekwondo challenge. I’m decent at taekwondo but that day I was tired and sleepy. So I went to the dojo and they were giving out trophies. But they prob knew if they were only 3 people everyone would get a trophy. Most teams had like 6-7 people but my team only had 4. Only the 4th person didn’t show so during the contest I did the worst but still got a trophy lol. My parents were so proud of me, so I waited until the next week until I told them. To be fair the other people were like 5 years older than me.

Even if she lost the record, she still deserves mad respect in my book for running the hardest category of a game for one of her first runs. Edit: 12:31 3 years later, and no one on the leaderboard has managed to get half her time.

True facts this video inspired me to peek and see if one of my childhood faves had any speedruns. As a kiddo I was STUPID into the game Dark Cloud ( Dark Chronicle outside the US ) and I found it has a speed running page... With exactly ONE runner who has made a dozen different catagories to keep running the game over and over in increasingly thorough ways. So now I'm playing Dark Cloud again. Time to beat in the first catagory is 60 hours, so Imma do a Test playthrough and save at multiple points to see where I can streamline grinding and minimize dependence on RNG, figure out which weapons are best for each dungeon, ect. Thanks for your role in sparking the thought, you're an amazing human who makes inspiring things.

yes and no, it's mostly cause her time is very easy to beat so a lot of people will indeed try to take the first place, that's what happens when you do this kind of things, look me for example, there was a speed run for a game I play competitively, I saw the runs and said, I can do this way faster than any of this people, so I did, I got the wr, then I got beaten, so I decided im the only worthy of holding said world record, so I got the record back, as of now im currently world record holder, but I got beaten again I'll simply break the record again.
If I were to attempt a speedrun for any game or series, it would probably be the "Ratchet & Clank" games. Mostly for 2 reasons: 1. They're my favorite games. 2. I know the games inside and out. Any of the "Ratchet & Clank" games from "Ratchet & Clank (2002)" to "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart", I could potentially speedrun. (I've played through these games so many times, I practically have them memorized.)

As a speedrunner, I can confirm that we definitely don’t just go and beat the game with no experience before, we spend hundreds of hours on the game looking for glitches and technics. In fact we spend hundreds of hours on 5 games :)

2.5 hours is for any% category. Jaiden's category (all golds) is currently at 4 hours (set 10 days after Jaiden's run, haha). Still great though.

i realized that this was her mistake. Sharing this with the internet will just make her the 106# in the mama cooking 2 speedrun records
but she will be forever known as the first person to speed run it. She may be surpassed in her time, but the best thing is that she started something new, a new community of people wanting to speed run this game now, just because she did it and shared it. That, I think is what truly matters.

yes and no, it's mostly cause her time is very easy to beat so a lot of people will indeed try to take the first place, that's what happens when you do this kind of things, look me for example, there was a speed run for a game I play competitively, I saw the runs and said, I can do this way faster than any of this people, so I did, I got the wr, then I got beaten, so I decided im the only worthy of holding said world record, so I got the record back, as of now im currently world record holder, but I got beaten again I'll simply break the record again.

If I were to attempt a speedrun for any game or series, it would probably be the "Ratchet & Clank" games. Mostly for 2 reasons:
1. They're my favorite games.
2. I know the games inside and out.
Any of the "Ratchet & Clank" games from "Ratchet & Clank (2002)" to "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart", I could potentially speedrun. (I've played through these games so many times, I practically have them memorized.)

As a speedrunner, I can confirm that we definitely don’t just go and beat the game with no experience before, we spend hundreds of hours on the game looking for glitches and technics. In fact we spend hundreds of hours on 5 games :)
