My family used to own a Toyota Progres, the front looked like if a CTS and a W210 had a good time. That aside, it did have a 2JZ (mated to the slowest shifting automatic) and I recall it's still running to this day. That origin heavily reminds me of it, glad to see people still maintaining these more obscure models Toyota JP had to offer.

I love Toyotas. My Tundra was my first love with cars from Japan…now I drive an Avalon and it is the best car I have ever driven. My boss, has always said that the Japanese know exactly how Americans want their cars to be. I believe him. Toyotas just make sense.

Never forget my Dad test driving a '70 Crown here in Kansas City, Kansas. He bought a '71 Corona Mk II and man that thing was a smog-tuned DOG. It held up OK - but the Crown felt like AN ABSOLUTE UNIT. Most solid and tightest car I ever rode in.

Even rarer would be the Toyota AA. Other than modern reproductions, the only known surviving example was a heavily modified and derelict unit from Siberia of all places.
Like with the Origin, Toyota went on to produce the Toyota Classic (YN86), which shared underpinnings with the N80 Hilux. The resulting tribute looked more like a hearse tho lmao 💀

Hi Jim, you've certainly vibes into this car. However do the low production numbers make it special ? It's rear pillar angled opposite to it's contempories, then the suicide doors. Interior's no big difference again to other top end Toyota contempories. The retro look is reasonble. . . . . .. . .Or am I missing all the cue's of an ultra-exclusive Toyota?

You mean 1,073 too many were made? Toyota is the epitome poor engineering (they even find difficult to handle reverse engineering properly), mediocre quality and excellent marketing ability (sell such poor cars at primum prices is something you need to know). In fact, I never had a worse vehicle than they Toyota I had and I have owned many vehicles of various brands.
