It's a very interesting place. I've never been there in person but I have been introduced to it by local RUclipsrs who often cover the roads development project .
Those very deep S curves where the mountains are carved for safety from landslides and road widening is called ( Roach Gully ) lol
Now , don't ask me why it's called that !🤣 Maybe when you next cover the area you could ask 😃 I'll be following!🤣
That place is like the Ugly Ducking that's transformed into a Very Beautiful Swan ..
Still a ' Work In Progress ' but I'm sure in short order it will be completed to show off it's true Beauty to accompany the other picturesque neighbouring vicinities..

The first gentleman you spoke with said that weathering and movement over the years has changed the shape so those rocks no longer look like horses anymore. . But the history of the name stands . It's named White Horses for that original reason.
Well thanks for exploring that name . I'm a Jamaican but only not long heard the name since the recent road development , but didn't know why . So thanks again brother 🙏🏾😊

My place st Thomas white horses get it name from. White sea 🌊 waves. Hit on the banked. It look like white. Horses

Have you thought that white horses was just a made up name from some time in Jamaica's history years ago? I go to white oak maryland for over forty years and haven't looked around for white oaks.
