hows the heat soak hold up on these i just ordered MAPERFORMANCE air intake. little nervous cause its made outta metal and the filter looks like its next to the motor basically.
It definitely heat soaks, but once you start moving, the temp starts to drop. A intercooler will help, wrap your downpipe and keep your heat shield on. It’s the loudest intake I’ve heard so far. Hd it for a couple months.
That bottom air box is a pain in the kick man. I didn’t get as lucky as you with it breaking at the second bolt. I had to get my car towed to mechanic to get lower heat shield off to just remove one of the bolt to complete install. A much heftier cost then what I expected. I will be getting a tune with a new intercooler. Did you get any check in engine light after install?
nope been driving for about a year now with no cels, i am getting my downpipe, ktuner, and intercooler this week!!! about time. im sure ill post videos of them. i dont know that ill be able to install them right away though
it depends what you are wanting for sure. stainless holds on to heat more than the other options, but it also resonates better so the sound is incredible. if you want pure performance the shape and size of this one is good but youll definitely be looking for a good intercooler. if you want a good intercooler and a non metal intake tube then youll get less heat. you would really need to be pushing the limits of your car for it to matter that much though.
Hey weird question, do you recommend this intake for people who live in a colder climate like Alberta Canada?
Nice video installing my intake with this tutorial
Thank you for the video!
Thank you
Hey do you remember what size socket the air box support used at the bottom. Running into issues getting it out
Sorry I dont remember, I would check but all that hardware is in a box in storage.

@@the_wolfe8125 i switched to PRL cobra cia. the MAP was fine other than using more fuel but i did an intercooler and wanted a diff intake.

Do you have a tuner running during the sound test?
