The New Kawasaki KLR 650 Ride Review

- Hey Gang! The 2021 / 2022 Kawasaki KLR 650 is the legendary pack mule of the ADV World and here's my thoughts and review of it. Check out my written review of it here: www.advpulse.com/adv-news/202...
I've been working my way through your older videos and I have a question for you: how do you not have 500k subscribers? Some of the best moto content on youtube.
The youtube algorithm mostly rewards regular content. People who don't post as much don't get suggested for videos much.
Just broke 10k and that's the hardest
@@steve_kamrad5216 That's what she said
Happy to see a Kamrad vid! Was just talking about you and the upcoming Sand Blast Rally with Rob in Charleston after he worked on my Thunderbird. Also have a 1200 XE Steve McQueen but I don’t ride it in the woods anywhere near the speed you ride yours! Great review!
Good to see Kawasaki bringing the 650 into the new world! Clever marketing, with a large margin for change.
Love your work, keep it coming
It was about time, finally you're back! Nice review btw.
Thanks man
This is a very informative honest & enjoyable review ... the fact that Kawasaki has upgraded the KLR to injection shows they are still in it for the long haul & obviously are looking to the future for longevity ... reviews like this bring about feedback to improve their commitment to further sales ... remembering ... they are a low budget bike for good reason ... they provide a mid range priced bike to suit an all terrain all purpose market ... I'm a DR fan for reasons they are a light clean skin canvas with a huge aftermarket accessories market ... that said ... I'm waiting on their next move to align themselves for the Australian Design Rules & regulations for emissions etc ... scary but exciting times should they get their act together to compete in the market place ... really enjoyed the intelligent commentary in this upload ... well done ...
I'm blown away! Thank you for the thoughtful response. Means so much.
@@steve_kamrad5216 You're welcome as it's well deserved ... cheers mate ...
Steve - another great review! Thank for doing these vids. I like the way your describe it as average when you look at specific aspects but somehow the sum of the parts makes it great. Would love to see you do a review of the Norden 901...
Thank you so much for reaching out. I appreciate it. I wouldn't mind getting some time on a 901. Maybe soon
Klr owners should read 'in search of greener grass ' by Graham field. Nice video and good to have you posting again 🇮🇲🍻
Good review…..
Glad you’re back…!
More on the way! Thanks
Exactly! I got mine in 2016 and have spent a few bucks on making it into what I need. I can go anywhere I want. I do most of the service work myself but I got the dealer to install an Eagle Mike doohickey, he said the spring had lost tension so it was the right time to change it over. I won't be upgrading to a 22 KLR650 as it didn't improve that much over the previous generation. I was keen until I saw the same engine with 5 gears and the extra weight is disappointing. Still a good bike but I want more power next bike. Great review - your down to earth way is refreshing.
Thank you and spot on! Not worth the update vs a 2016
Great review Steve. I think the DR 650 has the same cult following as the KLR, owners love them. The KLR looks like its more of a road bike that can go off-road. Good to see you back!
100% fair assessment.
Good to have you back. Unfortunately the KLR isn’t available in the UK. Bit of a shame, I think a bit underpowered for my (mostly road) riding but I’d love to try one.
Dr650?
"All-C report card"... laughed out loud. Great review, in the now-classic Kamrad style. I really hoped you'd break something off it, like the Multistrada. But hey, it's a KLR, it's bulletproof.
Bomb proof and hard to crash
I sold my bike and don’t even ride anymore but I still watch these videos. Always entertaining
Awesome man. Hopefully you get one again
@@steve_kamrad5216 yea those days are over. Non motorcycle related injury. Bought a class car instead.
Nice work Loved the intro
Movie magic
Bought a 22 klr adventure. Its great at nothing. I accept it for what it is. Its in a class of its own at sub $8000 you get 50mpg, simplicity, easy and inexpensive maintenaince, no electronic nannies, no distractions, storage and wind protection. I dont have to obsess about it being clean. Its not a weekend warrior. Its a rarity these days. VALUE!
Absolutely agree with. Congratulations on the bike
Nice to see you !
You too
Always inspiring mae’n⚠️
Cheers
Finally.Welcome back
More soon
Did you do Tecate Enduro? I gotta talk to you about Baja next time I see you in Jersey.
No I have not
What happened to your classic arena suit. Great review!
Arena? You mean that Rev'it stuff? Too heavy and they like lame Riders.
Before I even watch, I'll ask the question Steve. How many KLR 650s did you break to film this? Good to see you back!
Just the one I rode.... hard
@@steve_kamrad5216 LOL! "and no tachometer but you don't really need it, this thing takes a long time to get to the rev limiter..." But in all honesty, it is a good bike, what else can you get today for 7000$ brand new that's better than a KLR?
@@ibuti01 maybe a swm or dr650. But it's fuel injection but also a T7 is right there
I watched just because I like his videos even though I am not interested in a KLR, the whole time I kept thinking this looks like NM from my NMBDR ride last Oct, I was pretty proud of myself when he finely said it was NM
Yeah man! How was the nmbdr cause the area we were in wasn't great
@@steve_kamrad5216 It was nice getting to see a new state I had not been to NM before but as far as the riding goes it honestly was not real fun most the time, I am from IN and we dont have much sand here and I did not enjoy that power sand much and I think it was driest state I have been to
yea the usb rubber cover is by far the only thing i dont like about the accessory panel
Swm super dual is in the same class, much better bike too for similar money
Yeah totally true
