  • Repair FAIL: MAYTAG Commercial Technology Model MVWB765FW0 Top Loading Washing Machine User Interface Control Board Corrosion Fix - Error Code F5E1
    Bravos
    NOTE: This fix didn't work for my washer, but it apparently worked for others. I would have replaced the User Interface Control Panel Board, but I didn't want to spend $300 more on this washer. It has not been very reliable. I thought the MAYTAG name would prevent regular issues, but I was wrong.
    I bought a new GE. I also considered an LG and a Samsung. The are all highly reviewed.
    My previous washer was a Whirlpool which is apparently made by the same company that makes MAYTAG. I experienced similar problems with that washer. I will not buy from that product family again.

    You are wrong sir. ThT washer does have know if the lid is open. There is a magnet in the lid. When closed it pulls a piece of metal in the lid lock and closes the circuit

      There may be models that have that switch, but this one did not. I could simulate the lid closed while it was actually open using the lid lock contacts.

    I have the same washer. I had to reflow the solder on the control panel board to get it to stop shutting off randomly.

    Thanks for the help. This is our exact maytag model and we are getting F5 error. Any help on how to check in diagnostic mode you mention? We don't see E1, just F5. Thanks again.

    • @mchenrykramer
      @mchenrykramer  2 года назад +2

      All F5 codes have to do with the lid or lid lock. In my case, the lid did not have a switch that indicates whether it is open or closed. However, the error I got indicated that the lid was open, but the lid was closed and the controller had no way of knowing that it was open or closed. The lid lock tested fine, so I know it wasn't the lid lock. I actually replaced the lid lock previously because it failed due to corrosion from moisture from the washer. The controller had corrosion from moisture which most likely caused my issue. Getting the technician manual was very helpful for me.

    How did you get this washer into diagnostic mode? I have the same washer and can't get it into diagnostic mode.

      Sorry, I can't remember how I got into it. I think I have another video where I talked about getting into it. But I found out how to access it from someone else's video.

    The washer is a piece of junk, replaced board and control board but did not work. Expecting insurance to replace it.

      Was there any light in the display? I picked one up for $20 bucks expecting it to be a easy fix but the display won’t light up.

    Has anyone fixed this issue? I'm showing f5 e1 which is a lock issue. I also had f3 e2 which I replaced the inlet valve and the error went away. Cleaned the control unit still nothing.

      I agree. I bought Maytag for the name and it was as much of a piece of junk as my previous Whirlpool. I bought GE this time and paid a little more, but so far I am pleased.

    Ever figure it out? Having the same exact issue, new control board and new control panel did not fix. 🤬

    • @mchenrykramer
      @mchenrykramer  2 года назад +2

      Sorry, I didn't. I could have bought a new control board to fix it, but my wife was tired of fooling around with it and didn't want to spend any more money on it. I was tired of it, too. The MAYTAG name was not worth it. This thing was a poor design, and I was fixing something on it regularly. I bought a GE based on reviews instead of what was on sale this time.
