wow ! what we had in the 70 's was as good as anything that happened in the 60's,,, for me , it was the best ever !!!!!!!!!!!! , I'm 59, but Slade are still my band..
They are still in my collection. I'am 57 and I understand my parents when they used to listen to rock n roll when I was a kid. When I put Slade on now my kids say exactly the same as I did. What the hell is that lol.
☆☆☆SLADE ROCKS☆☆☆ fantastically! One of the legendary "Glamrock music groups". They were huge and extremely successfull in Europe. I was a teenager in the 70´s and might experience the best music tape of all times, as for example: Sweet, T-Rex, MUD, Suzie Q. of course also pink Floyd, Led zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath. Unforgettably - I miss them!
ER.. Me too and i love all those bands as well. The same can be said for motorcycles in these eras from Kwacker triples , Lc 350s through blades ,zx7rs, etc plus 1991/2 oldskool rave. This vid is great.
Robert H. Take Me Back ´Ome. Slade performed this song in 1972? There I still was too young for motorcycles. My motorbike time began middle of the 70th. A subject where I could discuss now for hours. With the Kwacker it concerns a water-cooled Kawa? I believe, at that time it was one quickest in the cbm/m³ class. A cult bike! ☆☆☆ Happy new year 2017!
Slade were such a brilliant band and should be inaugarated into the rock n roll of fame the 70's was the best decade ever the music was light years ahead of todays music crap
mate.... you have been missing some special music.... try THE SWEET.....T TREX....SPARKS.. so many more 70's legends....but SLAYED(as in true tradition of Slade mispelling) are top of the tree!!!!
Awesome song & tune. If this video doesn't put a huge smile on your face, you should get back in your coffin!!! Slade were one of Britains biggest ever bands who sold millions. Didn't do squat in the U.S. buts that their loss. They influenced lots of U.S. bands though like Kiss, Cheap Trick & the Replacements. In the U.K. they are a national treasure.
It's always been a mystery why they weren't big here in the states. Slade is still very rare to hear on classic rock radio. Even when Quiet Riot covered them they still remained unseen. They're amazing.
Daniel H No mystery really. The sound was awesome. Holders voice was un-earthly. The guitarist was a clown. Couldn't play to save his life in an era when we were seeing Alvin, Jimi, Jimmy, Jeff, Peter, Eric, Ted etc.The guy in Slade was really to put it nicely, not up to the current standards. To that point, I saw them at Cobo Hall in Detroit maybe 1973?. They got boo'd off the stage.. I was there. It was all because of their guitar player who was a complete ass. Slade is one of my favorite bands of all time but everytime I see that jerk lead guitarist I cringe and I'll wager that's the reason that they never hit it big in the States. IMO.
+Bryan Mclellan They sold millions of records, were huge everywhere but the States; who cares. The USA never understood glamrock (Sweet, Slade, Mud, Marc Bolan, etc.), it has nothing to do with Dave Hill.
Dave Hill was one of many the reasons why they were so loved here in Britain and the rest of the world.Americans are trapped in a bubble, their loss not ours!
Back at a time when we wanted and had fun and Slade & the other groups of the time gave us great music. Much better than the crap that’s around today. And the girls were naturally beautiful & didn’t mind us lads whistling at them . They knew it was a compliment. Now you are called sexist. 👍👍
One of my regrets in life I never managed to see them live when they were in their prime. Listening to Slade as a teenager in the '70s - it didn't get much better.
I will admit, back in 1974 I made the mistake of listening to some classmates, who said " Slade Sucks". Here I am 50 years later. Rockin out to Slade. Better late than never.
I m only 41 but love rock music from every decade from 50s till now. I wonder if anyone else noticed recently that Slade are having a kind of revival at the moment. I hear their songs on all the rock stations plant rock absolute rock ect. I must heard them 40 times in last week alone on radio. They are also get a lot of videos played on music stations on TV aswell. It just goes to show people out there still appreciate good music and they might be recognising Slade were and still are one of the top rock acts in the world.
This has literally everything that's currently missing from 99% of rock music today: FUN and CATCHINESS. I asked this on another Slade post but its relevant here too: when was the last time you saw a band smile as much as Slade does in this video? Outstanding. Music never got any better than this.
I was once dragged along to a Slade concert,at Liverpool Stadium in November 1972 much against my will, as I considered myself above their style of 'pop rock'. Well shame on me, as it turned out to be one of the best concerts I'd ever seen, they were brilliant. During the concert, Dave Hill broke his ankle, when he fell off his platform boots during the performance. I can't remember whether he went to hospital to have it put in plaster or whether he carried on. Slade were the headliners, but the show was opened by Suzi Quatro, followed by Think Lizzy.
Not only having one of the greatest voices in rock, Noddy Holder and the lads from SLADE are one of the greatest UK bands form the 70's - LEGENDS! \m/ A major influence!!
This was my introduction to Slade as a 5 year old! Kept hearing it on the radio, didn't know who the hell it was, but that voice totally captivated me! Never heard a singer 'shout' before! Totally original and unique sound, and a massive influence on many to come.
This is one of my favorite SLADE songs, and the video is killer. the little blonde cutie dancing with Noddy Holder is a knock out. and the girl dancing with Dave Hill is having a hell of time trying to keep up with him. Dave is a wild man, you have to remember he is playing a guitar and doing all those wild moves. he is a very under rated guitarist. Yeah these guys are AWESOME!!!!! the mighty SLADE no doubt.
My first single bought when I was a young teen, great, fun band. Wish they had re-grouped at some point. I still consider "Slade Alive" to be one of the best heaviest live rock albums ever.
One of the most iconic bands of the 70s. They may have never cracked the USA in the way other British bands did, but they left a legacy, for the metal bands of the 80s, the back to basic punching rock of the 00's. To say they were just a "glam rock" band is disingenuous, they could do the lot. Absolute legends all, with Noddys vocals being among the very best of any artist.
It doesn't matter if the band is 100+. Slade are one of the only major rock bands where all the members are still with us. Get it back together and rock the joint!!
This song has such a great groove to it. The guitar lead is just great, simple and easy, but does exactly what it needs to for the song. Second song I can recall (the other being come on feel the noise) where the drummer doesn't really touch the hats and just uses tambourine, crashes and toms/snare. Really gives the song a chugging/pumping feeling though and I think it only enhances the groove. And what can be said of Noddy's vocals. What a peculiar voice he has. I wouldn't even call it pleasant, but man does it cut through a mix like butter and it lends itself to Slade's brand of rabble rousing rebel sound. Great song. My Dads favorite band. Every once in a while I listen to it and remember us blasting down the road in the old camper going fishing, good times.
Awesome video....In 1971 I was 15, I liked all sorts of music but nothing before or since ever grabbed me like Slade. The day I heard Cos I Luv You changed everything....these were the band for me, it was me, it felt like me & I still love em to this day. Seeing Noddy with his mirrored top hat blew my mind, his voice is unique, I think someone once described it as a cut throat razor. Watching their old videos & listening to their songs now give me goose bumps, it's like I'm 16 again...Slade were awesome & I'm so thankful they came along when they did, for me they're the best rock band ever, I love the Stones, ACDC, Def Leppard & others but Slade are just it.....thanks Noddy, Jim, Dave & Don.
I was 'nt a Slade hardcore fan ! but i have all their singles and albums until 76 ! T.rex and Slade were the begining of Glam slam !Happiness !crazyness! fish and cips - jelly- baggie trousers-platform boots-Top of the Pop-tea and beer- OH England my teenage fascination !
Ahh, fantastic memories of 'dancing' to Slade at the Top Rank Club in Liverpool during the 70s. A few pints of Double Diamond first at the Pig and Whistle or Crocodile. Then see which pretty girl we could cop off with in the club. Failing that, it was off to 'grab a granny night' on Sunday at the Grafton. Great, great times and memories I still treasure. Rest in peace, John, my old clubbing friend of those years.
Bobby G Apart from the mighty ABBA, they had the most number 1's in the U.K in the 70's (6). They were pretty much huge everywhere except the States but that speaks more about them rather then Slade. I agree Bobby, they were the lads glam band, a bit like Oasis were to the 90's but they were on a bigger scale, for Tony to say they go no where means he doesn't know to much on their history.
I think this is my all time favorite lip synced performance by any music group in the history of rock n roll. It’s just pure joy, I love everything about it. I think my favorite dancer is the girl paired with Don Powell. ❤️⚡️🥂🎵
Love the fact that each member of the band is being shadowed by a dancer dressed the same as him. The poor girl trying to ape Dave's odd dancing definitely got the shot straw.
Holder Is Legend......Best Frontman Ever...And That Stands To This Day........Listen To That!....Don't Know If Holder Was Married By Then .....But That Bird Behind Him Is All Over Him...She's Defo Banging Him After The Show.....100%

They are still in my collection. I'am 57 and I understand my parents when they used to listen to rock n roll when I was a kid. When I put Slade on now my kids say exactly the same as I did. What the hell is that lol.
This song is more than 50 years old and it still sounds fresh, raw and exciting.
Love those girls mimicking Slade - you just had to love 70's girls! Slade were my favourite band ever as a kid - real rock and roll.
I still say that Slade are one of, if not THE, greatest rock n roll band ever.
They definitely are right up there. I saw them twice .. they were mesmerising ...
Most underrated

I was a teenager back then too and feel a huge connection to all these bands. The music was so damn contagious back then.
Robert H. Take Me Back ´Ome. Slade performed this song in 1972? There I still was too young for motorcycles. My motorbike time began middle of the 70th. A subject where I could discuss now for hours.

What a track, what a band! Totally uplifting and awesome.
simple comment: music in the 70s was alive - music in the 21st century has the edge of a dead prawn.
And girls were better and had class.

Ok boomer
Dead prawn is giving too much credit to 21st century music.
it's just most cool music isn't in the mainstream anymore -- kids for whatever reason latch onto stupid rap -
The 70's best decade for music, for fashion, for life. !! ❤
Slade, Soundrack of my youth, Happy Days still here in 2021

It's wonderful to realise that all these four original Slade members are still with us! You can't say that about many other bands from this era...
Tak me bak ome, I belong in the 70's. its my comfort zone.
even my shocker haircuts and awful clothes were tops... 70's.... the era i began to know about LIFE!!!!
Phillip Williams variations
Tusla?
Slade were such a strange mix of hard rock, bovver boy, and glam rock image. Still remember hearing Noddy's voice the first time, we were SHOCKED.
Just love the Slade, takes me back so many years when life was great...x
Begging to the IMF, 3 day week, power cuts...but yes, the early 70`s was a great time to be a teenager.
Never heard of these guys until today. I am speechless. What a great band!!

1971 seems so long ago, I'm 67 as i write this post, and these guys still rock the hell out of my world, KOR you fellow old farts.
My 1st LP was "Strange Days "66,
Omg the blonde is so freaking adorable!! I like how she’s dressed like Noddy! ❤️
Yep she was cute and the smile too
Apparently she is said to be Dave's sister.
All the dancers were dressed as the band members!
@@bonkousmcnaughty4604 she is beyond cute be!!!!!
With you totally on the blonde Amanda, love the enthusiasm and the dancing. Slade knew how to pick 'em! Wonder what she's doing theses days?
Slade are like Motorhead. Raw, pure unadulterated rock and roll
what an underrated group. and the gals from the 70s❤❤❤

Brilliant song by one of my top 5 live bands of all time……….and the girl dancing with Noddy is stunning!
the greatest rock band to walk the face of this earth

One of the greatest bands with their best record.

One of their best in my opinion and there was plenty to chose from!
Absolutely Gary !
My Granddaughter and me came across this song and she loved it! Lilly this is for you x
Slade were probably the most underrated rock band that graced this earth. In fact Slade were the best rock band ever as far as I'm concerned.
Those girls are great dancers 👯♀️ 😊😊😊
Dougie Squire's Young Generation. And the extremely hot one with Noddy Holder is probably Carolyn Heywood.
