- We saved over $2000 and took our second MSC Cruises cruise aboard MSC Seaside. MSC does things a little differently since they're European. They have an amazing Michael Jackson show! Is MSC better or worse than Royal Caribbean or Carnival? Are the drinks really FREE? Watch and see!

Love your vlogs…even more informative than they are entertaining. I was just on Seaside last week for a ship tour. Actually like it more than the slightly larger Seaside-Evo class ships - the speciality dining on 16, right outside Yacht Club in particular. (I’m a Yacht Club devotee and nearly all the MSC I book is Yacht Club.)
BTW…Valletta is the capital of Malta, where MSC registers all their passenger ships. That’s why the red flag with the white Maltese cross.
Ahhhh - Malta! Thanks for the scoop. We're quickly becoming YC devotees also. The service is outstanding. Curious how it is with a full ship. We'll find out on 4 June!
Yeah, it makes sense why people aren't tipping, since the drink packages are supposed to include gratuity. Though I normally tip a dollar per drink to grease the wheels a little bit. :D
Gratuity is definitely included in the drink package. But who really knows where that money goes? Hoping the buck or two extra at least stays at the bar.
Understand there will be negative critics but cruise 4-26 thru 4-29 page, while concerning, had one large group of 400, were understaffed on that particular cruise. MSC cares, truly trying to solve what happened based on agents requested to put surveys together for them to solve.
Think glitches solved.

Please explain? I think many would be thrilled just to cruise in life. Maybe some use to top category like 1st class example. But if never had that, don’t know what missing, I’m Very grateful to have opportunity to cruise. Amirite? :)

On Seaside now 5-14 week right now and it’s great so far!
We’ve done over 70 cruises. we were on a late April cruise as well. Service and food were very similar to what we’ve come to expect on the base royal Caribbean and Carnival packages at 1/3 the price. Honestly, we were impressed with what we got for what we paid.
Similar to you, we take pleasure in providing additional gratuities. I wonder if MSC's website discouraging individual staff tipping resulted in you seeing fewer additional gratuities in comparison to other cruise companies.
That is a terrible policy! They should follow the local nation's customs. In Murica, we're tippers.

The lack you tipping you observed is probably because MSC actually discourages cash tipping since they charge a daily amount per person for tips to your cabin account.

That Michael Jackson Starwalker show is ONLY on Seaside. It's among the best cruise shows we've ever seen.

I just made it back from MSC Seaside and everything was awesome. The Staff was friendly and attentive. Embarkation was smooth. I loved michael Jackson and peter punk show. No complaints about the ship to be honest. Also, the hibachi was great!
Loved Seaside! Everything on Seaside was 100x better than Seascape. Crazy how different they are.

Thanks Hayden! Yes. Smartly, reservations become available on the MSC app the morning of each show. With a large theater and three nightly shows, everyone fits. We subscribed to your channel!

Nice review. Im doing the bella experince in July for 7 nights. How was the drink package and internet? Im suppose to have free drinks and internet. Did yall get that packahe to?
We did! You don't not the TOP drink and internet package, but you don't need any more than they give you. The drink package was good enough for most people, covering almost all the popular mixed drinks with decent liquors. And the non-streaming internet was surprisingly fast. We did upgrade that so we could upload faster. You'll love it!

@@admtim Oh wow! Is there a limit per day or? I know royal you can drink all you can and carnival is 15 in a 24 hour period.
@@helloyall4355 none that we’ve aware of. We didn’t count this time, but I was well over 15 on my last sea day.

Should stick to freight . Not enough bartenders or kitchen staff to compete with American lines . Ship is beautiful, entertainment is great but service is well below acceptable .
Oh, it’s not that bad. The food and service was on par with Carnival and Royal Caribbean. The entertainment is like being in an old age home. But take it all with a grain of salt because you’re still on vacation and right now MSC is the best value out there.
“It’s not that bad “ is not what I travel for and I am by no means an elitist . When the lights in the dining room go on bright before I get my entree , something is wrong . When I have to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a drink something is wrong. They need to hire more people so we all get the vacation experience . Never had this issue with Royal , Holland , Celebrity or Carnival . MSC should stick to freight or the European market. Value means nothing if you have crappy service .

Voyager Point wise, Fantastica gets way more points as well.
True but points and status don’t get too much bang for the buck in the long run. It’s the suites that give the big perks. Our Yacht Club experience was AMAZING.

I have Fantastica for our summer cruise. It was our only option. I would love to be able to upgrade it. We specifically got a window room with the bunk beds for Seascape and afraid to upgrade because having my teens share a bed was a huge issue on our last cruise
Sometimes upgrades are available later on. People cancel, change plans, et cetera. There is hope!

Definitely is an excellent show, especially for a cruise.
The $99 Butchers Cut meal you referred to is a special chef’s experience - it’s not the standard meal. You can order a la carte from a fairly large menu, or if you’ve pre-purchased specialty dining you order off the “experience menu” but can substitute items from the full menu for 50% of the a la carte price.
Sounds incredible! Rave reviews from EVERYONE we've spoken with. We're going to try it on Seascape next week.
Can we bring seashells that aren't occupied back on the ship?
Technically, you're not supposed to and they may be confiscated at security. But if they're small enough to fit into your pockets...

MSC is doing OK, but still needs a LOT of help in many areas. From their ads and social media campaigns, it appears they are failing into the trap of thinking their target audience is Gen Z while the majority of their customers are Gen X or late boomers. Regardless, right now, they are the biggest bargain on the seas at half the cost of Royal Caribbean.
Just checked and MSC Cruise pricing is still less than Carnival. Hope their quality remains good.
Gold and Diamond members get $50 OBC if booking at least 9 Months in advance.

This will be my 3rd MSC and I hope the buffet is better than the Meraviglia! All the specialty dining is sold out so I hope to find openings once onboard.

Do they require you to dress more formal at the restaurants?
Absolutely not. No cruise lines require formal dress. They might look at you funny if you’re wearing a Speedo and flip-flops, but jeans or nice shorts and clean t-shirts are common in most restaurants.

Tip is included in your ticket and in your drinkpackage and in Europe we’re not obligated to tip, like you guys in America.

There are a LOT of travel agents who refuse to work with MSC. Unclear why.

What coffee is included with the drink package? And how do u get it?
Not sure what the brand is, but there is free coffee 24/7 in the buffet area for everyone, even without a drink package. It’s actually pretty good!

Not necessary unless you expect exceptional service, better food, and priority boarding. If you can swing it, you'll LOVE it. We did!

Why cruise on spring break with any cruise? Dumb unless you have no choice. You are allowed to bring a hair flat iron and a blow dryer. You should know that.
@@user-sv1yt7eq8p listen, stable genius. Since people come from all over, Spring break lasts two months now, so it’s hard to avoid. Why should I change my plans rather than you keep your misbehaving children in check? Last time I checked kids are a parent’s responsibility. And MSC documents clearly stated “NO DEVICE WITH A HEATING ELEMENT.” Unless they’ve updated their website, flat irons and blow dryers were one of the most frequently asked questions we receive. Sorry we all don’t know everything like you 😂
