It been a while since I've been seeing silly comments about Bjj that is not effective in real situations. I don't go to class and play guard in sport bjj since 2015 because i think It will help me in a street fight, I do that because it's funny and I stay fit doing that. But I just know that if punches are involved, I would never play any guard, closed, half, sitting etc and I'll always try to be the guy on top. Even if someone project you, get the f**k up, protect the chin from blows, get an underhook and be the top guy. It's still bjj and the top passing game its still effective. End of the story.

  • @pvlapa

Exactly. Sport JJ has veered so far away from its vale tudo and UFC roots.

I agree and also disagree. It's not an absolute. Yes you do pass guard in "real" fighting. Whatever "real" means, because, what BJJ is it real fighting? It is, fighting with our striking. And it's real. It's it bulshido. Striking from top is not as easy aals it appeals to be, especially when the bottom guys is well skilled fighting back off of his back. And that's what we specialize in at my Gym, The Gladiator Fight Academy.
