thanks, these kind of experimenting videos are helping me a lot in figuring out how new device functioning. I appreciate your contribution of time and work.
Good demonstration. The USB hub as well as the mobile/tablet needs to confirm to the USB Power Delivery (PD) v2.0 specification for the powered usb hub to charge the device while also giving power to the peripherals. Vendors do not usually say if they devices support this so it's a hit and a miss. You have to buy the ones which are tested and surely work. I believe the switch in this case is because if you do not want to charge the phone and direct all the power to a power hungry hard drive then you can. If there is no switch the some power will keep going to charging the phone/tablet.
Vishki, thank you for this video. It was very helpful. Just want to add that you are correct in that not all devices charge at the same time while utilizing the usb hubs. The method you used did not work with my NuVision 8" tablet but it did work when I set the USB connector to charge mode then did a restart of the tablet. All of a sudden when the tableb was finishing the restart, it picked up the USB stick drive and at the same time the charging red light indicator turned on. I purchased the KIRIN usb ports device. Just wanted to add this but it still may not work with other devices. Thanks again!
Jack Collazo the kirin one sometimes worked when i had a nextbook tablet but wouldnt charge very quickly. I gave the tablet away and tore the adapter up in an attempt at utilizing the micro usb connection to the tablet for a full size usb for my nuvision windows 2 in 1
Hi Vishki. You are a life saver! I have a linx 820 with a faulty battery, so couldn’t use OTG without powering the unit. I’ve tried many so-called splitters but none maintained the use of a charger plugged in. I bought this unit from Amazon after seeing this video and voilà OTG with charging built in. Thank you so much. Cheers Roger
I purchased the same hub, and it wasn't working for me at first. I would have sent it back were it not for your video explaining the proper sequence to getting it to work. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this.
Hey Vishki, Good video on functional aspects of the Micro USB Hub. Must say, this is crisp, to the point and covered all necessary functional aspects unlike stupid unboxing videos posted by few who have no clue of what may help the viewer. Imagine people showing 50% of their airtime in opening an ebay package. How ridiculous that is..? I liked your editing bit to fast forward not so important parts from the continuous footage. Very sensible indeed. Keep it up.. THUMBS UP sure.
Very informative video. I had purchased a different hub and was disappointed that it doesn't even support charging. I searched for a different one and saw this hub on Amazon, but it had mixed comments. Some people said you could charge and use OTG at the same time, others said you couldn't. This video explains it perfectly, so I ordered one. Now let's hope it works for my tablet because it is going to be on all day and it needs a printer.
saved me the trouble of looking for diy myself and is perfect for my project. thanks. i actually just need 2 female usb and a separate micro female for charging. and since this has three, its a bonus
Very well done video. However, the title is not accurate: This is NOT SIMULTANEOUS charging and port sharing. As the video shows, you have to switch manually between one OR the other.
That's what I thought too, but at the end of the video he shows that as long as you have a wall charger plugged into the device AND have it set for 'charge', everything works at the same time.

I had the same issue with my S7 and tried about 5 different hubs with power. I read that some devices will not support both at the same time due to software... detecting a short in the USB port as water... Worked for an S5 though.

Are that thing work on oppoa92
Plsss answer
i bought it from Amazon but when ever i try to use it, My phone (S7 Edge) shows an error of "Moisture Detected" and no USB drive or mouse has deducted. otherwise single OTG cables works perfectly. kindly Suggest.
I had the same issue with my S7 and tried about 5 different hubs with power. I read that some devices will not support both at the same time due to software... detecting a short in the USB port as water... Worked for an S5 though.
Hello sir is it support Nokia 3 ?
Does it support for Oppo F3?
Like how a tablet comes with windows 10?
Some tablets came with Windows. I had an iBall tablet which I remember came with Win 8 and received 10 as an upgrade. There was also Dell Venue Pro and Toshiba Encore 8 inch tablets with windows. In 10 inches there are many.
