In this lesson I speak about one the greatest untapped sources of freshness in the art of guitar. If you are too used to playing the same chords, try figuring out what color each open string brings to every harmonic situation and you will notice a an explosion of gorgeous possibilities. I say untapped because in my perspective and experience, I don't see educators giving this anywhere near the attention it deserves, which is one reason why most people sound the same when playing guitar. Of course it does take a little brain work, which is required if you seek depth in anything in life, but the results are worth the effort.
Please note that in this lesson I use a 7 string guitar.
