      .....there was just so much good music happening at that time that it just wasn't possible it seems to fit it all on the radio shows, some great performers were left out of the global picture . Bee gees landed in Britain from Australia five months before the Easybeats and hit the big time. Maybe it came down to the timing. It's been said the Brits were getting to like the Seekers and Peter Paul n Mary style music as 1967 moved along and bee gees seemed as an in between style to them and rock n roll .

      Hi Alan. Great memories but Stevie Wright was a drug addict and therefore the band really lacked consistency. During the 60s the market was flooded with some really fantastic bands overseas. It was difficult to rise to the top. AC/DC made up for it (Angus Young et al). Management also play a part. Eg. Bee Gees - home grown talent on Bandstand etc.

      @TruBluHeeler I thought the early Masters were great but The Easybeats were far more original, in terms of songwriting. The Masters first album had 5 covers, whereas every song The Easys released before they left Australia was an original. They released 5 covers right at the end

    I was 7 years old...and loved this band so much, Every song was so fast and exciting! Cue the late 70s and punk - and I kept hearing the cues the Easybeats had laid. They reformed and performed concerts in 1986, and managed to preserve the verve and loud, good cheer of tracks such as this. I was there, and will go to the grave cherishing the excitement and joy of seeing these guys really cut loose and effortlessly recapture the joy and volume of the 60s.

    Sorry and She's So Fine were both very popular here in NZ, She's So Fine might've come first, 1965 maybe Both songs were frequently covered by local groups for the Saturday night dances. When you watch the video you can see a Phil May/Pretty Things influence there.

    Hi everyone. 😀 The guitar player from The Easybeats, George Young was the older brother of Malcolm and Angus Young from AC-DC. George and the lead guitarist Harry became music producers and song writers. The bass player, Dick Diamond came from a religious family, and I am sure that they were the inspiration for "Highway to Hell".
    George and Harry saw how talented George's two younger brothers were and they decided to build a band with them. George and Harry produced for many others including John Paul Young, The Ted Mulry Gang and Stevie Wright (the Easybeats lead singer).
    The "Guitar George" and "Harry" who are mentioned in the Dire Straits hit song "Sultans of Swing" are George Young and Harry Vanda. ruclips.net/video/8_7qkRwcMFc/видео.html

      @thesnesman5235 Cool man. 😎
      But the concept of Rock being the path to hell was conceived by some religious people. In the 1950s Billy Graham and the like. By the 1960s people were being clearly divided. In the dramatization of the story of the Easybeats (Friday on my mind), Dick Diamond's parents sent a Dutch guy to London to try and get the bass player away from "his life of sin". The Dutch guy told him that he was on the road to hell and George Young was there and hear it. It was pretty funny how over the top the dude was, even to a religious person.
      I think the lyrics in the verses are about touring, but the chorus and title are about anti-rock n' roll preaching.
      What about the video? ... oh no .. my mistake. I was thinking of the "Let there Be Rock" video. 😀
      Here is a link to the video anyway. ruclips.net/video/tSNxFGW09Mo/видео.htmlsi=zEYPSXk9VeDHdKUf

    I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t know that the 3 O’Clock (a kind of obscure Paisley Underground band from LA in the early 80s) covered this-I though they wrote it. I definitely like this version better-a lot rawer. But the 3 O’Clock’s version is worth a listen.
