I agree. I tried to get into V-tubing when it was fresh, but the barrier of access was really high, especially since it seemed most established v-tubers were super gatekeepy.

I love this tutorial! One thing i need to correct, though. MS Paint does have background removal features, its just a little hard to access. To remove the background, go to Layers, and then to the bottom of the layers tab, whete you should find your canvas color. Click the eyeball, and the background will be removed when you save.

Most of people/pngtuber that i have seen only do 2
If you want to take a more harder route with more animated vtuber and you have a lot of free time, watch videos about live 2D and the process, use the Live 2D 40 day trial, and take advantage of that time to make a vtuber that anime vtubers use. I made one through this method all for free but it was hard work, about 5-7 hours for drawing the model/pieces and 7 hours just for rigging. I hope one day to use it on a live stream but I get nervous in front of live audiences 😭

back then like 2019 or 2020, i actually try to rig an anime model on live 2D for fun 'cause i was so bored , during covid. the hardest part is to fill the blank void, especially the hair since i can't freaking draw lmao. but still manage to rig most of the part.

100%, you can become a VT tuber for free now nowadays! There are a lot more resources for all the things you need then some people might think. You can find free models, overlays, schedules, etc. ❤ It's not always about spending the most money to be able to make content and be a vtuber!! Cheering on everyone who wants to be a vtuber ❤❤❤

There is a scriptable way to make a VTUBER, simply using Tynker and their AI coding blocks (yes this method is kid-friendly), we are able to make a VTUBER project, we can adjust it to our own likings and also add cool FX.
(There are some limitations like being limited to 2D and the fact you need an account to save the project so it may not be the best method.)

If you want a 2d model that will move with you it'll take a lot more effort, but you can have one for free! As long as you do the art and rigging yourself it'll be completely free (including live2d with free trial or basic package) but take forever to make lol
