The bears in the shop are the boys she picks out for herself, the ropes represent her leading them all on, she ends up meeting the boy and the orange bear through the boy, and the orange bear represents the boy's best friend, she really likes the best friend and goes out with him but after a while, she gets bored/tired of him and throws him away. The boy jumping into the river to save the bear is representation of the boy going to his best friend after the break up and being there for him or in other words, "saving" him from the river which is "loneliness"

So.... I'm assuming the song is about some guy that liked a girl, but the orange bear stole his woman. Eventually she dumped orange bear (her throwing the bear keychain in the lake) but the guy got with the orange bear in the end, which is why you see the orange bear popping out from the lake close to the end. my theory is that the bears represent a common interest. in the beginning the guy is really into these bear collectibles and gets excited when he meets someone who's also into collecting them. he falls for her, and wants to get closer to her. their shared interest is what encourages him to approach her, and even comforts him when he's upset (the fact that at least they have one thing in common gives him hope). but slowly he realizes that the girl is more into talking about their shared interest than talking to him specifically, and comes to the conclusion that the bears are becoming a hindrance. he tries to prove himself interesting in his own right, but the bears make it difficult for other conversation to take place. eventually, instead of getting down on himself by thinking "she likes the bears more than me," he thinks "I have to keep trying and use this interest as a springboard into other topics." however, by the time he regains his confidence, the girl has already lost interest in the collectibles and the guy realized that his feelings for the girl had messed with his ability to enjoy something he loved. after he experiences a rapid recollection of his attachment to both the girl and the bears, he chooses to go back to the bears.

MY THEORY Since the song is called "Her Secret" I'm guessing that her secret is that she collects all of these bears. He has a crush on her so he buys bears for her. At 1:20 when the bears are throwing paper airplanes, that is him giving her the bears. When they explode away that is her seeing them as simple trinkets and not seeing him as anything more then someone who gave her some little gifts. OR this could mean that he tells her that he likes her but either she doesn't like him back or sees him as just a friend. At 1:50, the girl and him are becoming friends (hence them texting eachother) At 2:05, the bear is to represent ether another boy OR that the gifts are betraying him in a way as it's making him get friend-zoned. The line "But I'm too nice, I couldn't do it after anything" is that he couldn't tell her that he's in love with her. The lyrics are all pretty much self-explanatory throughout the song. Now, the ending when she throws the bear and he gets it back could mean several things. Either, simply she is over that bear-collecting faze but he needs to show her that there was a reason why he got them for her. But, I don't think that's true. Now, what could possibly be it is that he's saving their friendship. Or, he's saving the possibility of him telling her that he loves her? OR, she's throwing their friendship away and he's saving it. I don't know, The ending is the hardest to decipher. Also, I forgot to mention it at the beginning but the bears also represent a part of him telling himself to tell her and its giving him confidence to do so. Anyway, tell me what you guys think! Comment what you think the ending means.
In the original Japanese, in the main bit he refers to the bears as "mikata" meaning friend, ally, supporter, etc. So I feel the bears represent the people on his side (and later the ones against him). one of these bears end up dating the girl, the same orange one that consoled him when he was upset. Eventually, the girl throws out the bear after wearing it out and damaging it. The main guy at this point realizes that the girl is not as important to him as the guy who supported him so far, and he goes to pick him up out of the river.
So, personal interpretation: he and his friend like the same girl. He asks the girl out and she rejects him. His friend helps him pick up the pieces. But then it turns out the girl likes his friend and the two start dating. While they're in a relationship, she tells the protagonist that she actually likes him. Despite his feelings, he doesn't act on that, for his friend. In the end, the girl dumps his friend, and rather than taking the opportunity, he helps his friend instead.

This song really relates on my life about because I’m into this boy named Oscar and I don’t have the gut to tell him how I feel so this really gave me a confidence boost....thanks.
My theory: The guy had an unrequited crush on the woman and so tried to surround himself with all of the things it appeared that she loved, and put her on some magical perfect person pedestal, like people with crushes sometimes do. But, because he doesn't really know her or her circumstances/ he might be a bit delusional/ he mistakes things that make her happy for things that are actually making her sad. Thus the last scene where she threw away the cute smol star bear was actually a suicide attempt, on her part, which caused him to realize that she was a "real person" and not some unrelatable magic happy person. In the end he saves her from her suicide attempt and the final shots where of all of those locations he associated with her happiness being seen from the woman's point of view: empty and lonely although bright and happy seeming.
I have a couple theories of my own as well, this one lines up with one in the beginning I believe it says “she remembers me but I’m not here there or anywhere” . If she did have a suicide attempt at the end and he saved her he may have died in the act of saving her.
How I interpreted this song. So the guy is kinda like an otaku and has all these little bear things that he keeps even though he is a teen and these things were designed for little girls. Over time though he begins to like this girl who he thinks likes these cute bear toys as well. And when he sees she that she is letting go of these kiddy toys he goes and tries to save them showing his love for these toys instead of the girl. Feel free to disagree with me. James Phillips I agree with all except the last part I'm not sure on. That's what I figured first, but if you pay attention to the last few scenes it shows the shop empty and neither of them are at the machines. I think it might be showing that the toys were an important bridge to them coming together, and a common ground, and the reason he saved the bear was due to the fact it was a memento of their relationship. So to sum it up he ended up with the girl and not obsessing over the toys. I feel this is a strong message for a lot of people who grew out of the weeb culture a bit, but still have powerful human connections forged from it.

My theory: The boy really likes the girl and at one point even gave her that little yellow bear she has. He has so much trouble telling her that he likes her but when he finally has time to spend with her, she confesses that she likes him. He gets choked up and can't tell her that he likes her too and thus she takes the golden bear and throws it into the river. The boy tries to locate the bear within the river to try and fix things and tell her how he really feels.

Weird twist, but imagine the guy is just in love with the Orange bear, and the only reason why he was trying to get to the girl was to get to the orange bear. So when the girl threw the bear away he was like "yo this is my chance!" and gets the bear to be his (finally) lmao. That's why he kept buying those bears at the shop so he could win the orange bear by chance - but nope. The only girl who had it was the girl he kept running into.
I think they were both using their love for the bears as a way to connect, but never truly got to learn more about eachother, bubt both had falling for eachother. So, the girl took the first real step, as he had been too afraid to do so, and tossed her favorite that he had given her out into the river in an attempt to show him she loved him more. He saved the bear to show her he loved her too, as he knew she cared deeply for it.

Kitty Voss my theory is a bit odd I know. He originally loves the girl and is friends with a person who eventually ends up dating her.(symbolized by the bear) In the end she breaks up with them and the main character realizes that he has feelings for the bear and asks them out. The end~
I think him diving to get the keychain is more meant to show he wants to hold onto the memories of their relationship. The song makes it clear that they weren't as compatible as the main character hoped, but that doesn't mean that they were completely miserable together. And with the end, I see two things. Both the characters want to move on, at least as I saw, but she wanted to forget, symbolized by throwing away the keychain, while he wants to remember everything their relationship was, hence him going for it not her. He doesn't want to get back together, but he doesn't want to forget either.
My theory is that the orange bear is the dudes best friend. When the girl friendzoned the dude the friend helped him feel better. The friend eventually dated the girl. The dude didn't give up yet but once he saw the girl breaking up with his friend, the dude goes to help his friend out and forgives him cuz he values their friendship more then the girl. The dude's love for the girl dies out when he saw how she treated his friend

My interpretation just revolves around my inability to confess when I really want to. Even though I want to reach out to someone I love from the distance I've kept, I know my isolation means they don't know who I am, making rejection certain, when in reality, (one I can't see) there are other ways around it to move towards my goal. So despite all the chances and opportunities I condemn myself to an eternity of dreaming over something that could be in my reach, but i'm too reluctant to try properly in fear of moving outside my comfort zone. That's just me though, everyone works out their own. Although as previously mentioned in the song "I'm barely here there or anywhere" so whatever I say is just spur of the moment gibberish. MY THEORY
Since the song is called "Her Secret" I'm guessing that her secret is that she collects all of these bears. He has a crush on her so he buys bears for her. At 1:20 when the bears are throwing paper airplanes, that is him giving her the bears. When they explode away that is her seeing them as simple trinkets and not seeing him as anything more then someone who gave her some little gifts. OR this could mean that he tells her that he likes her but either she doesn't like him back or sees him as just a friend. At 1:50, the girl and him are becoming friends (hence them texting eachother) At 2:05, the bear is to represent ether another boy OR that the gifts are betraying him in a way as it's making him get friend-zoned. The line "But I'm too nice, I couldn't do it after anything" is that he couldn't tell her that he's in love with her. The lyrics are all pretty much self-explanatory throughout the song. Now, the ending when she throws the bear and he gets it back could mean several things. Either, simply she is over that bear-collecting faze but he needs to show her that there was a reason why he got them for her. But, I don't think that's true. Now, what could possibly be it is that he's saving their friendship. Or, he's saving the possibility of him telling her that he loves her? OR, she's throwing their friendship away and he's saving it. I don't know, The ending is the hardest to decipher. Also, I forgot to mention it at the beginning but the bears also represent a part of him telling himself to tell her and its giving him confidence to do so.

In the original Japanese, in the main bit he refers to the bears as "mikata" meaning friend, ally, supporter, etc. So I feel the bears represent the people on his side (and later the ones against him). one of these bears end up dating the girl, the same orange one that consoled him when he was upset. Eventually, the girl throws out the bear after wearing it out and damaging it. The main guy at this point realizes that the girl is not as important to him as the guy who supported him so far, and he goes to pick him up out of the river.

So, personal interpretation: he and his friend like the same girl. He asks the girl out and she rejects him. His friend helps him pick up the pieces. But then it turns out the girl likes his friend and the two start dating. While they're in a relationship, she tells the protagonist that she actually likes him. Despite his feelings, he doesn't act on that, for his friend. In the end, the girl dumps his friend, and rather than taking the opportunity, he helps his friend instead.

My theory:
The guy had an unrequited crush on the woman and so tried to surround himself with all of the things it appeared that she loved, and put her on some magical perfect person pedestal, like people with crushes sometimes do. But, because he doesn't really know her or her circumstances/ he might be a bit delusional/ he mistakes things that make her happy for things that are actually making her sad. Thus the last scene where she threw away the cute smol star bear was actually a suicide attempt, on her part, which caused him to realize that she was a "real person" and not some unrelatable magic happy person. In the end he saves her from her suicide attempt and the final shots where of all of those locations he associated with her happiness being seen from the woman's point of view: empty and lonely although bright and happy seeming.

How I interpreted this song.
So the guy is kinda like an otaku and has all these little bear things that he keeps even though he is a teen and these things were designed for little girls. Over time though he begins to like this girl who he thinks likes these cute bear toys as well. And when he sees she that she is letting go of these kiddy toys he goes and tries to save them showing his love for these toys instead of the girl.

James Phillips I agree with all except the last part I'm not sure on. That's what I figured first, but if you pay attention to the last few scenes it shows the shop empty and neither of them are at the machines. I think it might be showing that the toys were an important bridge to them coming together, and a common ground, and the reason he saved the bear was due to the fact it was a memento of their relationship. So to sum it up he ended up with the girl and not obsessing over the toys. I feel this is a strong message for a lot of people who grew out of the weeb culture a bit, but still have powerful human connections forged from it.

My theory:
The boy really likes the girl and at one point even gave her that little yellow bear she has. He has so much trouble telling her that he likes her but when he finally has time to spend with her, she confesses that she likes him. He gets choked up and can't tell her that he likes her too and thus she takes the golden bear and throws it into the river. The boy tries to locate the bear within the river to try and fix things and tell her how he really feels.
This is the first theory I'm seeing that I support but I want to add they imply the girl dived into the river WITHOUT attempting suicide at the end

Weird twist, but imagine the guy is just in love with the Orange bear, and the only reason why he was trying to get to the girl was to get to the orange bear. So when the girl threw the bear away he was like "yo this is my chance!" and gets the bear to be his (finally) lmao. That's why he kept buying those bears at the shop so he could win the orange bear by chance - but nope. The only girl who had it was the girl he kept running into.
I think they were both using their love for the bears as a way to connect, but never truly got to learn more about eachother, bubt both had falling for eachother. So, the girl took the first real step, as he had been too afraid to do so, and tossed her favorite that he had given her out into the river in an attempt to show him she loved him more. He saved the bear to show her he loved her too, as he knew she cared deeply for it.

Kitty Voss my theory is a bit odd I know. He originally loves the girl and is friends with a person who eventually ends up dating her.(symbolized by the bear) In the end she breaks up with them and the main character realizes that he has feelings for the bear and asks them out. The end~
I think him diving to get the keychain is more meant to show he wants to hold onto the memories of their relationship. The song makes it clear that they weren't as compatible as the main character hoped, but that doesn't mean that they were completely miserable together. And with the end, I see two things. Both the characters want to move on, at least as I saw, but she wanted to forget, symbolized by throwing away the keychain, while he wants to remember everything their relationship was, hence him going for it not her. He doesn't want to get back together, but he doesn't want to forget either.
My theory is that the orange bear is the dudes best friend. When the girl friendzoned the dude the friend helped him feel better. The friend eventually dated the girl. The dude didn't give up yet but once he saw the girl breaking up with his friend, the dude goes to help his friend out and forgives him cuz he values their friendship more then the girl. The dude's love for the girl dies out when he saw how she treated his friend

My interpretation just revolves around my inability to confess when I really want to. Even though I want to reach out to someone I love from the distance I've kept, I know my isolation means they don't know who I am, making rejection certain, when in reality, (one I can't see) there are other ways around it to move towards my goal. So despite all the chances and opportunities I condemn myself to an eternity of dreaming over something that could be in my reach, but i'm too reluctant to try properly in fear of moving outside my comfort zone. That's just me though, everyone works out their own. Although as previously mentioned in the song "I'm barely here there or anywhere" so whatever I say is just spur of the moment gibberish.
