Phil the owner here. Just to quickly address some of the lovely comments with some facts and updates on the car. - The car is daily driver Dad wagon, not a track weapon. - It gets serviced every 5k miles, it’s done only 30k miles and had been at what I thought was around 500bhp for about a year. I had no issues on Autobahn the day before and thought the car was in full health. - The car definitely wasn’t 500bhp, well done to all you keyboard mechanics here for spotting that! - Since getting it home and inspected by a different tuner the turbo actuator arm on the hot side of the turbo wasn’t opening and closing as it should resulting in over and under boosting. - The fuelling was a bit of a mess also with the fuel rail being emptied in the top of 4th to 5th resulting in that complete boost cut. - The suspension was brand new KW V3 coilovers kit (road biased yes, but not stanced by any means). Since discussing with KW the softness I’ve gone for KW Clubsport stiffer rear springs and in the process of getting a geo setup with the car raised up a bit more all round. - Not all U.K. tuners are shit. The car has since had a new Littco L500 turbo, new upgraded injectors, DI and MPI, flex fuel so it can adjust for ethanol content and switchable maps. - It’s made 513bhp on 99ron / 549bhp with E15. - Misha has said he will take it out next year so all of you can get the chance to go in on me again! Looking forward to the comments! Lastly - a big thanks to Misha for sorting the wheel out, he could have easily have said go away but was genuine with the damage.
Really cheap move with the wheel, damage was very minor. Props to Misha for handling it regardless. Do not think Misha will drive this one again :). Seems like car lost a lot of power after half of the lap, cooling, more conservative tune is needed. Tuners usually make good dyno pull in the cold weather, once in perfect conditions, cold car. And you never see close to that power. Better less boost and stable power that can be maintained for 20-30mins of WOT/Hard driving. Do not think that Littco L500 can handle 500HP constantly without producing too much heat.
Whatever tuner you used for that "500 hp" initial state should be avoided like plague. I wouldn't drive even 100 hp engine with an incorrectly adjusted turbo actuator.
@@philipbeart8387 Just a quick question. You went to Mischa to get a service( drive you at the ring with your own car at a very good pace) and then you also ask him to to fix the wear and tear on your car ? Honestly, not only is this incredibly entertaining to the audience, it presents an excellent opportunity to owners that want to build a track ready car. There's no doubt he can find a car's limitations much quicker than even your average enthusiast and provide really detailed feedback on what needs improvement. If Misha were driving my car and minor damage were to occur during a track session through no obvious fault of his own, I would consider that a necessary evil when he's providing a service that a lot of experienced track drivers would charge for. That being said, it was very nice of you to replace his wheel, whether you were at fault or not.
A business would offer this service "at owners risk" and would not cover any damage caused. This would be an important clause to ensure the business is covered should significant damage, harm or death occur. Seems like the owner of this car is naïve and has bad expectations as a result. I had the same issue with my MK7 GTI after I upgraded the turbo when changed from 3rd to 4th on full throttle. Turned out it was a misfire when changing gear so the ECU holds the wastegate open. Replacing the coil packs fixed it for me.

Great Video and driving as per usual Misha, Hope you're enjoying your time off. @ 2:22 Still shocked that the owner has the confidence to mention the smallest gutter rash Ive seen. ($50 repair at most or easy DIY fix), rather than the time his Poorly modded and (undertuned) car wasted to get 1 Lap in. I laughed when i heard 500hp 🤣🤣 💀💀
That's a crazy take. If you took your car to a dealership for an oil change but they damaged the bodywork you would expect them to rectify the issue. If Misha took the car out to do laps but damaged the wheels on a ticket barrier curb why wouldn't the owner try to rectify the problem?
Even if you could do a lap full throttle due to not having the safe mode you would still have problems with the amount of scrape the car has… way too low, probably more a stance car than a “drive me car”??
@HolySteel yes, but that affects the way the car handles more than a bit of ride height. Plus, on the ring there's plenty of spots where I think he'd still be rubbing/eating his inner fenders. Definitely another solution though
It needs proper wheel fitment/clearance. Additional ride height or spring rate is just a band-aid. You should be able to hit the bump stops without tire to fender interference.
Regardless of the issues and quotes, that was flying! Track days and Ring sessions will always uncover any modification niggles and small tolerances. Know what to sort, it's all progress. Nice
Can't believe he moaned about some light marks on his wheel when he treated you to his time and efforts.. Pretty wack. Also the wheels rubbing was sounding very worrying. Misha your the man.
I feel if you ask someone to drive your car on the ring, the owner should still be accepting of responsibility, UNLESS there was gross negligence. But Misha is a stand up guy and he took on the responsibility, well played sir 👏
Well... he was in the driver's seat when the damage happened so yeah, it was the correct thing to do anyway. If you borrow your friend's car and accidentally catch the paint with the key or whatever, you should offer to pay for the repair. Slightly different situations but you get the idea. He didn't need to pay for a completely new wheel for such a minor scratch though.
Shame about the car going into limp mode, looking forward to it coming back next year with the issues resolved and seeing what it's really capable of. Thanks for the upload Misha
What is probably happening is a boost spike between shifts causing over torque and slipping, if this thing was tuned on a dyno overboost could easily be a problem. Also not 500 hp more like 280
Some white/blue smoke at 9:06 and 11:10 on rear camera. How can you cry about small curbs, ur giving a tuned car to someone that will destroy your tires and possibly smth else can go wrong, not because of driving, but because of bad tune.
Props again for that "paying for damage I cause" part. Would assume to be a natural thing, but many still wouldn't do it. Just don't ever crash a McLaren, Ferrari, Bugatti, ... 😅
@@mgcharoudinI wonder do you (or maybe the owner) make any kind of temporary or part insurance when you take some really expensive cars for a lap like that Ferrari sf90? Or it’s pure trust?:)
We are humans and all make mistakes, if I lend someone my vehicle then I accept the risk that it might get damaged, just as there is a risk I could have an accident too....
Car was a mess. That scraping was embarrassing? And the tyre squeal…😮 Who worked on this car? Glad the owner got the issues addressed. Look forward to seeing it go round again now it has been put right..👍
I drove Leon Cupra R and i saw that it overboosts pretty strong on upshifts- But that one was chip tuned so no errors occured (nothing but low oil level after 300km of thrashing it)
Kudos to Misha for paying the damage. That said, the Cupra is unfortunately very disappointing with the modification, it needs better cooling as well as better tune. Really shame a lot of remapped/tuned car only have advertised horsepower on dyno, but not IRL.
It’s a bummer the car could not work properly … Hope he figures what’s wrong with and he gets the tune right ! I bet the tyres were dead after that lap 😂
thats insane to even message the guy coz of touch-up paint scratches.. and getting a whole new wheel for that... thanks god he didnt ask for a new car😂
Good on you for covering the wheel cost Misha! I had someone damaging mine while I was parked at ED and they didn't even acknowledged it... This video is really telling of what happens when you "tune" your car in a random shop and you then try to push it on track. Those tunes usually aim at peak power for bragging rights, but don't hold up to a few minutes (or seconds...) of pushing. Looking at the speeds before schwedenkreuz I get there at a bit about 230 on a mostly stock GR Yaris. I would doubt this is making more than the 300hp stock.
Purpose of taking your car to the track is to find out the limits of your car and find out what needs changing. Tuning a car is not the end of the tuning it’s all trial and error and you know what it’s a good learning curve for this guy. You can’t expect a car to just be perfect after a tune there are still stuff that needs to be worked on.
@@aijameson666 or you know they could have tuned it on the dyno and found the issue lol bad tuner IMO probably just an off the shelf flash tune and a then they did a power run to give him a fancy graph to make him feel good
@shaneskillzrepresent more than likely the other way round, tuning only on the dyno is no good for replicating alot of problems you will find on the road. Always data log and carry out any fine tuning needed after a good road test, not always possible I know but alot of dyno's are only any good for a power run and that's about it.
Guy could have just straight up said buy me a new wheel from the outset rather than sending a picture of the light scuffing as some kind of hint. Surprised he didn't try to get a new engine out of you Misha. Weasel move IMO, a once in a life time opportunity to get a lap around the ring with a top driver and get some quality feedback on the car. Not to mention the lap is paid for by Misha yet he sees it as an opportunity to rinse Misha's good heart for a minor scuff. Low move man.
The wheel damage is really a big joke. I would never charge anyone i authorized to drive my car, that's kinda childish, specialy if it happend when you ask Misha to drive it... I'm not gonna lie this make me angry... Misha always pro and gentleman as usual !
Stop being such a glazer. People offering him to drive their car is an opportunity for Misha to get more content, especially when stuff like this happens where he damages the car. It shows people can be confident to give their car to him and he will look after it as long as it’s not wear and tear. Him hitting the curb is not wear and tear. I’d expect someone who ruins my car to pay for the damage unless it’s wear and tear and not user error. Yes Misha could’ve chose not to pay but he chose to do it because he knows what he did is wrong and admits it.
really smoky car when on throttle and specially at 11:48 there is a big cloud, if i had to guess i would think that the map is wrong but Misha seems to know the true reason why this happens
Misha, you better choose wisely cars that have been offered to you to drive, such as this perfect example. You are risking your and passenger`s life and this car is a great example of bad tune. Owner has more things to sort out, rather than mooning about the curb damage. This car obvioslly has much more other issues to sort out. Owner needs a reality check, he forgot this is not a Ferarri. The curb damage is the least issue this car has. Noticed the blue smoke? I hope the owner reads that comment and dig himself deep in shame.
Heat reflective tape and an open intake doesn’t really go together and look out the back at 11:08 this thing is a ticking time bomb. Whoever tuned it should be ashamed.
Well that car has also serious overheating problem it went almost to 130 degress few times, that thing screams for better radiator or cooler thermostat.
my Corsa C used to not like 5th gear as well, going into limp mode always on accelerating in 5th, then a few days later found out that my fuel filter was leaking ever so slightly, so changed that and the problem disappeared. Maybe it's the same problem here the engine feels like it's not getting enough juice, so it limps out
Like others have said, such a cheapskate move to ask for compensation(albeit it was indirect, but it was heavily implied) about the "damaged" wheel(which is barely noticeable and can be fixed with some touch-up paint, no need for a full respray). Above-mentioned aside: thank you Misha for all of those amazing videos you've been blessing us and continue to do! Can't wait for next year's season! Hope to visit someday.
I think it could actually be a bit less than 350 hp... Doesn't seem to be much faster than my supercharged GT86 with 250whp (granted, it's lighter, I know, but it's the only car I know enough to make comparisons)
My Mazda hatch has a 21psi max boost tune. PilotSport 4 S on lighter &wider wheels and a full exhaust. I know I'd smoke this thing 😂😂 my car only has like 300-315 ish hp.
Honestly I bought a Seat Leon Cupra R ST this year and was pretty hyped. Wanted to mod it and stuff. Really loved the driving and look of the car. But for the sake of god the service and everything in Terms of Seat is just as bad as it gets. Like honestly, I had problems since day one and not one is fixed. Neither Seat or my dealer wanted to help me. I am now selling the car and buying something else. Cant recommend anyone buying a Seat or a Cupra. I am not alone. Especially the panoramic roof is just a story that never ends. Never have I ever driven a car with so many problems with its panoramic roof. And the dealers just dont want to help. The car makes so many noises and problems. I really am unhappy with my choice.
A disclaimer form is a nice way to help you and the customer/owner enjoy and understand this service and the valuable information you provide them after all the work they have done to their car, which would certainly cost a lot $£€ . It was good of you replace the wheel. But if you are using a car to race and use a race driver to do it what was your expectation owner?
I have to give some respect on the way you handled the wheel issue. 👍🏻 Us car guys often care more for our cars than our girlfriends. I think he should have refused you buying a new wheel though, becuase he did give you his car to drive on track. It's expected to get banged up a bit, right?
Who cares whether the car makes it around - the impressive thing was the owner managing not to loose/swallow his gum through a full lap of Misha getting his foot in ;-)
I’m guessing this is Revo tuned? This is what I’m concerned about with after market tunes. On one hand you want to maximize the potential of a car with a tune. But if the tune isn’t reliable, what good is it? I’d much rather have a factory stock vehicle that is engineered to a degree of tested reliability and be good with the factory power.
Misha, your gesture of covering the repair costs is truly appreciated. However, were I the owner, I might hesitate to bring up a minor wheel scratch, especially considering the challenges of driving that car. Nevertheless, it was a pleasure to witness another lap of your skillful driving.
@@MozzarellaBasket If the prospect of your car sustaining dings concerns you, maybe you should consider keeping it stored in your garage and not letting anyone else drive it. ($50 repair at most or easy DIY fix), rather than the time his Poorly modded and (undertuned) car wasted to get 1 Lap in. I laughed when i heard 500hp 🤣🤣
💀💀
Brexit hit hard for him. Making Misha pay for a wheel scratch 🤣
Legend
this cupra must've gotten the same tune as the 1000hp gtr 💀
Car didn't seem very suitable for the track but you pushed it where you could!
Rubbing tires fits perfect for ,,that'' guy, the rim guy 😉
Misha have a class!
so sad to see people try to charge you for something like that
Very sad
bro the bank owns his car obvs hes gonna try and get £120 for a refurb lmao. @@bestcrazyboy8487
@MotorHeartATwhy are you bringing up his income? Very weird
That's a crazy take. If you took your car to a dealership for an oil change but they damaged the bodywork you would expect them to rectify the issue. If Misha took the car out to do laps but damaged the wheels on a ticket barrier curb why wouldn't the owner try to rectify the problem?
@@CptConnor The difference is obvious, one is a pay job the other involves a free assessment and advice.
All the stuff u do will come back to u some day in a positive way. So good job for embracing the mistakes u make!
Even if you could do a lap full throttle due to not having the safe mode you would still have problems with the amount of scrape the car has… way too low, probably more a stance car than a “drive me car”??
Many car driven that looks to be too low. I mean you hear that loudly with headphones 😂
It's less an issue of the car and more that the track is so demanding of cars. Definitely needs some more ride height to play on the ring
@@PBRatLord More spring rate / bump stop also works
@HolySteel yes, but that affects the way the car handles more than a bit of ride height. Plus, on the ring there's plenty of spots where I think he'd still be rubbing/eating his inner fenders.
Definitely another solution though
It needs proper wheel fitment/clearance. Additional ride height or spring rate is just a band-aid. You should be able to hit the bump stops without tire to fender interference.
Great quality tune, can’t even handle one pull on a hot day without going into fail safe mode.
Damn, can barely see any damage on that wheel. Well done Misha for taking care of it!
Regardless of the issues and quotes, that was flying! Track days and Ring sessions will always uncover any modification niggles and small tolerances. Know what to sort, it's all progress. Nice
SEAT's motto "auto emocion" is right because you get angrier and angrier every time it breaks :D
Making Misha pay for a wheel that has a little scratch on it is just sad. How greedy can you be your not going to a model show your on a race track.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Looks like 350hp crank max. Also holy smokescreen batman: 8:36 11:09 11:50
I would be ashamed to ask misha to fix the wheel specially seeing how small the damage is unless its a supercars wheel.
Owner did play it cool he posted his message....he did not ask for compensation in his message...
117 quid for refurbishment btw tho lol they're like 50 quid tops I had all my wheels refurbed + diamond cut which is a premium for 300
misha makes a projected half mill a year according to social blade. 300 for a new wheel is just a good deed
@@velocityfpv5231 it’s his money at the end of the day, he earned it and the guy is clearly just taking the piss lol.
The owner is such a cheapskate asking money for a slight curb…
Misha is too good of a person
Shame about the car going into limp mode, looking forward to it coming back next year with the issues resolved and seeing what it's really capable of.
Thanks for the upload Misha
Car going in limpmode on 4 to 5 might be torque limit to protect the transmission?
What torque car looks stock power when you look at speedo
What is probably happening is a boost spike between shifts causing over torque and slipping, if this thing was tuned on a dyno overboost could easily be a problem. Also not 500 hp more like 280
Some white/blue smoke at 9:06 and 11:10 on rear camera. How can you cry about small curbs, ur giving a tuned car to someone that will destroy your tires and possibly smth else can go wrong, not because of driving, but because of bad tune.
these engines like to have sip of oil sometimes and cause this smoke, its normal
Props again for that "paying for damage I cause" part. Would assume to be a natural thing, but many still wouldn't do it. Just don't ever crash a McLaren, Ferrari, Bugatti, ... 😅
OOOOOR get to the point where crashing those isn't a problem💪🏻😬
@@mgcharoudin and you're on a good way there 😁
@@mgcharoudinwoah! Big mindset homie
@@mgcharoudinI wonder do you
(or maybe the owner) make any kind of temporary or part insurance when you take some really expensive cars for a lap like that Ferrari sf90? Or it’s pure trust?:)
We are humans and all make mistakes, if I lend someone my vehicle then I accept the risk that it might get damaged, just as there is a risk I could have an accident too....
Car was a mess. That scraping was embarrassing? And the tyre squeal…😮 Who worked on this car? Glad the owner got the issues addressed. Look forward to seeing it go round again now it has been put right..👍
Some tuner forgot that there are two more gears you can use under load 😂
I drove Leon Cupra R and i saw that it overboosts pretty strong on upshifts- But that one was chip tuned so no errors occured (nothing but low oil level after 300km of thrashing it)
is this problem due to bad tuning? tuning the ECU and TCU badly? all those UK tuned cars seems to have those issues?
There are loads of shitty cheap tuning places in the UK so idk if that has something to do with the tune in question here
Noo way this is 500hp
It literally lost boost in the beginning. So yeah, no way it is 500hp lol
500hp requires new internals, at least new cams and new pistons, not sure about the crank tho. but yeah... 500hp i guess?
@@Underp4ntz_Gaming_Channel it doesnt, but still this is not 500hp.
At 500hp you should be doing around 140mph/240kph with ease on the lead up to the first 2 sharp bends.
Probably need new tyres with the amount of running after a lap. Respect Misha, the content and how you look after everyone and the cars
Pushing algorythm for misha
Kudos to Misha for paying the damage.
That said, the Cupra is unfortunately very disappointing with the modification, it needs better cooling as well as better tune. Really shame a lot of remapped/tuned car only have advertised horsepower on dyno, but not IRL.
Sounds like he needs some new wheels and tyres anyways. That rubbing would drive me absolutely insane 😭
It’s a bummer the car could not work properly … Hope he figures what’s wrong with and he gets the tune right !
I bet the tyres were dead after that lap 😂
So cool to see another seat motevates me even more to start my Ibisa 2.0 sport project build
thats insane to even message the guy coz of touch-up paint scratches.. and getting a whole new wheel for that... thanks god he didnt ask for a new car😂
Who tunes a car that can't even drive 500 meters in a straight line without going into limp mode? 😅 Thats honestly embarassing
@@YKxNemesis He came to Germany with unlimited autobahns. He could've just floor the car on a straight once to reveal the problem.
You are a good lad Misha.
That was painful. Car was creaking like an old man
I’d treasure that tiny mark on the wheel as a memory it’s a seat so makes it more interesting too.
Thanks for including the present-day updates dude!
Patiently waiting for Philip to make a comeback
Guy could have just straight up said buy me a new wheel from the outset rather than sending a picture of the light scuffing as some kind of hint. Surprised he didn't try to get a new engine out of you Misha.
Weasel move IMO, a once in a life time opportunity to get a lap around the ring with a top driver and get some quality feedback on the car. Not to mention the lap is paid for by Misha yet he sees it as an opportunity to rinse Misha's good heart for a minor scuff. Low move man.
after 11:06 I was thinking maybe he will ask misha to buy him a new cupra due to the "damage" by carousel.
Holy smokes…. Literally 🥴😉 But how you‘ve dealt with the tire/rim -> 👏👍
I was convinced the car was gonna blow up going around the carousel at 11:10
I think that traction control wasn't fully disabled, you need to hold the disable button for 3s but here I can see some sport ESC mode still being on
The moment I saw the Porsche pull away I was like..
Loved the scraping krrr, krrr Nice drive Misha!
@@YKxNemesis glazer ot not, still cheap move with wheel.
1.A lot of strange sounds even when shifting. 2.He needs a catchcan. 3. That thing with the wheel is chindish.
If Traction control is off ..why does it blink down there at 9:16 ?
I've never heard another car make as many strange noises . I have to say I would be worried if that was my car .
really smoky car when on throttle and specially at 11:48 there is a big cloud, if i had to guess i would think that the map is wrong but Misha seems to know the true reason why this happens
I hope the owner reads that comment and dig himself deep in shame.
is it a big deal the scuff to the wheel?
Is it a big deal to scuff the paintwork?
Hope to visit someday.
nice ride , but cooling must be revised , it reached 120°C a few times ...
500hp... 😂 Looks more like 350hp
Surely it does not have 500hp, but what cannot be denied is that these Cupra are magnificent.
HP look like stock for me. At 04:12 first compression Misha is going 207. I'm doing pretty much the same if not higher with a stock leon cupra 300.
I have to give some respect on the way you handled the wheel issue. 👍🏻
Us car guys often care more for our cars than our girlfriends. I think he should have refused you buying a new wheel though, becuase he did give you his car to drive on track.
It's expected to get banged up a bit, right?
I had to squint and try my best to even see any scratch on the wheel, buying a whole new wheel for that is crazy and wasteful
Misha, being a gentleman, as usual. A good man, showing how one can move through life with integrity. Role model stuff.
What happened at the Carousel @11:08 when so much smoke appeared?
The car elected the new Pope
crankcase pressure can surge and push oil through the turbocharger, pcv related problem.
Who cares whether the car makes it around - the impressive thing was the owner managing not to loose/swallow his gum through a full lap of Misha getting his foot in ;-)
Wie kann man nur den armen Micha mit so einer zusammen gebastelten Karre fahren lassen🤦♂️
Unglaublich
You are doing great! Hope you have more views in the future to amortize all the risk-damages that might be in the future(hopefully no)
He had a famous misha rash on his wheels id of had u sign the alloy near the damage adds to character since daily driven, owners a fairy
The car looks far to slow for 500bhp.
Coil packs or injectors, my friend had the same issue on his Cupra 290 and it completely melted the 4. piston
why do they even make steering wheels with Alcantera in the wrong spot?
This car is so perfect that could be improved... Well done!
Misha, your gesture of covering the repair costs is truly appreciated. However, were I the owner, I might hesitate to bring up a minor wheel scratch, especially considering the challenges of driving that car. Nevertheless, it was a pleasure to witness another lap of your skillful driving.
Why would you not speak up about something that someone else caused? I like Misha too but c'mon
@@MozzarellaBasket If the prospect of your car sustaining dings concerns you, maybe you should consider keeping it stored in your garage and not letting anyone else drive it.
