I wish I could clone you and place you in every massage therapy school! Your work is absolutely inspiring; and how you address body mechanics is so critical for MT students to learn. Thank you :)
Tomorrow, I have my first official 2hr appointment. Watching this is giving me a few ideas on ways I can change the session before applying the lotions, but this certainly makes me want to go back to school with an instructor to learn from, one-on-one. This is amazing.
Thank you so much I Learned new techniques from you,,, and I can use this techniques for my partime massage therapist I want contenue Learned from you.
Question: do you start first with some lotion and strokes or right away start doing the fascia release in the whole body or probably just the back then some deep tissue strokes then probably some Swedish ? I am imagination the whole picture.
I hope he answers your question. I was told that it's better to start the dry strokes before applying any oils or lotions. The myofascial release prepares the tissues for the massage. I would like to know what he thinks too
Myofascial does not need lotion. In fact the slide from a lubricant can make it more difficult. MFR is fundamentally different than Swedish. MFR can also be done on deeper tissues; I believe for ease of demo he is only demonstrating the superficial layers.
If you want to release muscle contraction best work from origin but if you would like to stimulate muscle to work better you will need to work from insertion but must use quick movement if you use slow movement it will do only relax muscle.
Hi Im from Mexico and Im planning to take a course like that one, i WOULD LOVE IT!!! can you send me more information about the program, pices etc? thanks in advance.
Can't begin to understand why my orthopedic gave me PT orders for myofascial release when my thoracic back pain is very very deep. I can feel the stabbing pain deep muscle shooting through my chest almost, like a horizontal shooting pain that starts left or right around the c6-c7. I have had x-rays and MRIs. They found a tear and herniated disk at c6 and c7 but he says the herniated disk is not touching the nerves. Your thoughts???
Thank you for using a model that isn't a size 2. As a bigger person, I've avoided massage because I've felt very self conscious about my size and this makes me quite a bit more comfortable seeking a therapist.
In my old age, I have come to enjoy the world of massage. It started when a friend had sciatica. I never liked to really liked touching other people. Maybe it’s after covid. I would love to learn morr maybe at soma institute. But in the USA if you are a massage therapist you are thought of being a hooker. Not professional at all. I am no prude but this is why I don’t think I would.
I love this! I keep watching it over and over. Thank you!!
Thank you, Rob! You are the best teacher and a great therapist!

When working on a muscle is it more effective to move from the origin to the insertion of the muscle or the opposite?

This Is a great clip!
We call that massage here in the phils.is dry massage or shiatzu cause no oil.nice your technigues thank you.
Shiatsu is a dry technique, but focuses on the meridians. It would look very different and requires its own style of training

Not everyone thinks a Licensed Massage Therapist is a hooker, that why educating the public is important and upholding integrity and Professionalism.
If you’re really good looking, you could do both and make more money.
