Correction on the A+B smash trick for short hop arrows. If I press A+B together at the same time, I always get a neutral air. If I press and hold B first and then press A during jump squat, it works. Good tip though it seems a little hard to get the timing to work 100%.
Thanks for this. I’ve been looking for more characters that blur the lines between zoner and other types. Even if toon link is definitely more of a zoner.
He's really only as much of a zoner as you want him to be, you can focus more on his melee options to great effect. People often anticipate Toon Link to start throwing things the moment he appears on screen, then get caught off guard by how quickly he can approach and start racking up damage.
Thanks. Now it’s time to practice. This is an amazing tutorial I found super useful. Botw Link is an amazing upgrade to the smash series but I could never walk away from Toon Link.

How did you do??
@@Descro382 I forgot that I had even made this comment. Ahhh Good time. Anyway! It didn’t go too terribly. Did okay in Round One. I put up a decent fight but MVD was there and he WHOOPED me. Then I had a a match with newer local guy in the Losers bracket and that one was much closer. Came down to the wire, but he eventually pulled off a win and I was out. Still! I got some food and a fun day out of it! Might be something I look into doing again in the fully post-Covid times.
@@bankcolgate2155 I'm glad you had a great experience! That sounds like my one and only tournament I've ever been to, got whooped too 😂 but, here's to hope in the future, hopefully this pandemic goes away soon 🍻
Vaevoe at 18:09 is actually such a god, holy...
Man, I check and see if you have a video whenever I consider playing a new character, but I've never seen anything like this one! Thanks a ton and I will definitely purchase the canvases if they're still available
bro your video and photography editing is out of this world, if you ever are looking for somewhere to place your talents, I'm sure youll find it. Thank you for creating probably some of the best guides.
AWESOME VID! I used to main TL in brawl and kinda played off of fundamentals only and just went with the flow which carried me, but this guide I did learn alot! I definitely gotta keep in mind all the combos and damage I can do up close, Thx Izaw! Also, you bet your bottom I got myself a Toon Link vs Sonic poster, those things look sick!!!
Correction on the A+B smash trick for short hop arrows. If I press A+B together at the same time, I always get a neutral air. If I press and hold B first and then press A during jump squat, it works. Good tip though it seems a little hard to get the timing to work 100%.
EWA!! EWA!! EWA!!
That intro was legendary.
Whenever you have time, I think an Art of Greninja would be fantastic!
Probably one of the most technical characters, in my opinion.
Correction, NAIR will always trip if you hit either both feet or the top of the head, down tilt works the same way
I don’t think I’ve felt excitement for a video about toon link in my life before
My dude! Your artwork really elevated the quality of this video. Bravo! And you're selling it?! This man is a genius.
Love these Art of ... videos. Watching the training gets you to train and watching the characters makes you want to play the characters 👍
Thanks. Now it’s time to practice. This is an amazing tutorial I found super useful. Botw Link is an amazing upgrade to the smash series but I could never walk away from Toon Link.
I just finished watching your Wolf and Marth/Lucina videos too! Thanks it making my day!
Yes! Toon link was my main in sm4sh and in ultimate I just couldn't get him. But now I can. Thanks Izaw.
IzAw: *releases new Art of Video*
Me: Whelp, guess I'm playing this character for the next few weeks. Also is it just me, or does Toon Link's sword slashes sound like he's cutting silk?
I thought u weren’t gonna bother looking at Toon link until the last dlc of season 1 but Izaw you suprised me and amazed me. Thank you 🙏🏽
11:51 that was sick
toon link struggles with rush down characters
me as a Roy main: so anyway, I started blasting....
1:30 Triforcing ;)
I am literally the only person who found that funny
I love the new sword slashing sounds...
I'm glad at least you pay attention to Toon Link as an actual in-game character
Thank you so much, I use Toon Link a lot but I wasn’t really aware of a few of these tricks.
This is top-notch quality content. Keep up the good work Izaw
I love Toon Link so much. He's fun and people always underestimate him.
It's because he's clearly the worst link of the three, blame the developer.
Really amazed by the intro and the transitions, it's not much and definitely not the focus of the video, but it does have its impact.
I've been playing alot of Tink recently so this guid will come in handy.
This was an excellent Art Of episode! That being said however, that means Kokiri boi probably won't get his own Art Of for a while...
YES!! ART OF TOON LINK! Been waiting for this forever!
I picked up Link in Ultimate after watching Izaw's art of Link video. Three days ago I decided to practice Toon Link and I was sad that there was no Art of Toon Link... and now here we are! Thank you Izaw!!!
Toon Link is broken, never forget that
SSSSSsssssh
Busted character smh
toon link will always be my favorite link in ult
hes fun; has my favorite link design
and they didnt have to but
nintendo went out of the way to make new sound effects for all of his sword
slashes to atleast differentiate him farther from the other links
I love toon link's sword sounds
FINALLY !! I was waiting for the remake for so long !! Thanks You Izaw 😀
