The sad part about toon link is that his royal engineer outfit is literally IN THE GAME but you can’t use it or wear it as an alt skin.
Cvo777 I loved spirit tracks. It's also ashamed that the pajamas from wind waker are not a costume either.
Be thankful y’all ignorance fucks
No it's toon link. i expect perfection
@@jaykrit2322 N o . If Mario gets a fancy white suit then Toon Link should have the Royal Engineer & Pajama variants as alts...
@@Linktober04 And he has a builder outfit too. Granted he IS the most recognizable character and he's Nintendo's mascot but even then that doesn't exuse Yoshi with his crafted world design, Meta Knight with his Dark MK and Galacta Knight Alts, Link with four alternative costumes that aren't from breath of the wild, little Mac's wireframe, hoodie wireframe, and his hoodie alt, and every non Pokèmon Trainer Pokèmon. Not to mention gender swaps, Classic Bayonetta and Inklings.
I don't use Toon Link myself, but he deserves at least one unique alt that isn't a recolor.
The fact that you’re actually giving Tink the time of day is enough to warrant the automatic like.
Jewlz Cartagena toon link is just one of many great characters in this game. I don’t blame people for ignoring him, this roster is just huge and almost everyone is viable.
If this ain't facts..
@@megaKstudios the other links have all found their place within the meta, toon link just isn't too different from the other. People think:"why play toon link when I can play a 'better' character like link or Yung link?"
That’s so true. I personally liked Tink the best to play. ESAM claimed that Tink is the best link but #ESAMOpinions. The main things that Tink has over the other Links are his bombs, mobility, and aerials. Bomb fair kills at 70% lmfao. Bomb to retreating fair on shield to catch the bomb bouncing off is also good shield pressure. It’s p safe and you get the bomb back into your hand to punish their next option.
I immediately clicked when I saw it.
“Try forcing jumps...”
Try force
I see what you did there
I don't think it was intended but ok....
It may not have been but it’s funny regardless
Great internet memers think alike
So it seems
came here to post this
When a game has three characters with the same name, clothes and weapons, but they all still manage to feel unique and pull in different players.
lovethepandainyou tink is one of those characters that gets ignored for the content of who he is. Tink is a great character for his own reasons. He doesn't compete with the other two because he doesn't try to. He's just alternative rush down. Link is a technical setup zoner, and yink is a zoner with a ton of mix up.
@@peanutbutterpikachu tink is way more zoner then yink because yinks projectiles are exclusively for combos as is most of his kits making him more of a rushdown
@@lukeblaker8009 Toon Link uses his projectiles as a means of safely getting in, Yink can wall more safely with his projectiles since Fire Arrow is so much faster than Hero's Bow.
ScarfFox and Friends it’s so odd how we have 3 links, yet they all feel different
still a bigger difference than the fire emblem characters
Well I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect that to be the next “Art of” video.
I was actually starting to think what was taking so long, he announced this a while back on twitter

Another “Art of” meaning another time I gotta sit here and make timestamps.
You’re an person unappreciated in this comments section, but thank you very much for making this easy for me. I’ve been trying to nitpick parts of my gameplay so this beats sliding through the video.
Thank you, kind sir!
A hero to us all!👌😁😁
Thank you kind sir/ma’am. You are much appreciated
8:50 the biggest brain play I've ever seen in smash ultimate hands down
The grenade was a paid actor
Well, its Danish, so don't be surprised
18:16 was impressive too
I agree 100% lol, that's galaxy brain strat right there
It's great, reminded me of something Tea would do
“Tink wasn’t chosen by the Gods. He earned their blessing and power through determination and confidence...”
_hits like_ I think I’m gonna main Tink now.
Wow. That was a cool sentence.
With you bro
Tinkerbell 🧚♂️
This “Art Of” video is Art within art itself, with the sketches and soothing voice.
The sound his sword makes on hit sounds different than in Sm4sh and Brawl. It sounds sooo nice.
The best buff he got for sure.
I love it!
That's exactly why I main him
it sound like a wet noodle.. love the character but all his hits sound so… weak.
Finally Tink is getting the recognition he deserves.
he will rise as the best Link eventually now that we have Lv.1 from Japan on the rise plus Ri-ma and Sigma!
Fresh pika Link players are learning how to use his bomb for more combos now, but I’d also like to see Tink go up the tier list to at least high B tier
@@umpvp2435 you good?
This was the most pleasant surprise notification I have seen all day. Toon Link is my favorite of the three Links and see very little of him, thank you so much!
Ditto.
I sooooo agree he is like my favorite fighter of all time hands down
It was really fun working on this with everyone! This is an amazing video and I am glad that it turned out the way it did!
1:35 “And try forcing as many jumps...” I see what you did there

Lightfiend yes sir 😭🥺
*Slowly stands up
*stands up*
Lightfiend lets go
;D
dude 11:12 was so clean, three different tilts then that down air
Took Link is fucking awesome. My favorite thing about him is the sound of his sword when it hits.
16:33 Feild goal!
Also his sword hits are THE MOST SATISFYING SOUNDS...
Yink mains be mad because he uploaded this before Yink.
Who's Yink?
@@bushboybilly6080 young link
@@endur6040 ah ok
Hero of Winds? more like Hero of Wins!!!
I wish Toon Link's blue crab shirt was in the game
I’m pretty sure it was a lobster, but it would be amazing to see! And some of the other costumes, too. Like the spirit tracks one ( engineer outfit ) or other outfits like the cheerleader!
These videos are legit amazing, this one takes the cake with depth and quality. Awesome art too!
I have really wanted to learn Toon Link too and he's very underutilized so this episode is a godsend. Thank you!
I LOVE how this video was done! Your animation is beautiful! I've been a Toon Link main since I could play him in 2008. You got a new sub!
I just reposted this comment so I can see it at the top of the comments

It's videos and content like this that makes Sakurai really proud of its community.
Incredible art, editing and polish, amazing Izaw.
The Links are soooo frustrating to play against as a Kirby, and everything you said about disliking rushdown, escaping, setting up projectiles to force jumps, the combo game, rings so true. Great to have this perspective on Tink as I always struggle knowing what can and can't be punished on my shield. Thanks for the vid!
Izaw I swear to god you be releasing these guides right when I feel like picking up a character. They’re probably the most in-depth and focused guides out there and your art of Mario guide is the reason I main Mario now. Keep up the awesome work my dude!
Why is this still the best toon link guide on RUclips? Like not saying it’s a terrible guide but it’s been over 2 years and the toon link community can’t come up with one good one? The games been out for 5 years now.
Thank you so much for making this video man! I’m a Toon Link player too and this video really helped me improve my Toon Link a lot and better my punish game :)
This is really helpful and I’m glad you gave tink this appreciation!
Yes thank you. Your original art of toon link is what got me into smash. Great job and was not expecting this because. Toon link is barely noticed in smash ultimate
Came here to see this 2 years ago and I chose my main. I’ve made it to Elite Smash and there is still so much to learn. Thanks for the tips!!
Glad Toon Link got an Art of video. Was thinking of picking him back up since I played him in Sm4sh. Thanks for the great video!
This is so inspiring. I mained Tink in Sm4sh but when they got rid of glide tossing I felt like everything fun about the character was lost. But now you are giving me reason to pick him back up!
I loved playing Tink because unlike my other main, Bowser, you always feel like an underdog trying to brave through an impossible challenge.
I just finished watching your Wolf and Marth/Lucina videos too! Thanks it making my day!
Great Video. I watched this a few weeks back, and now have decided to pick up Toon Link as my secondary. This is a great place to start! :D
Man, I check and see if you have a video whenever I consider playing a new character, but I've never seen anything like this one! Thanks a ton and I will definitely purchase the canvases if they're still available
I’d love to see art of young link to complete the trifecta. Great video as always!
AWESOME VID! I used to main TL in brawl and kinda played off of fundamentals only and just went with the flow which carried me, but this guide I did learn alot! I definitely gotta keep in mind all the combos and damage I can do up close, Thx Izaw! Also, you bet your bottom I got myself a Toon Link vs Sonic poster, those things look sick!!!
I literally just had to beat a Toon Link in bracket yesterday. Thank you for giving me this information, I will use it to my advantage.
I see you’re the villain of this story.
Lol
Shouldn't be that bad, just pressure him in close range should be the key. Most fighters can pressure him hard. He doesn't have great combos either, focusing on neutral movement around his projectiles, avoiding him only to get your opportunity to counter him during his active frames.
@@ibechuu9695 I appreciate the advice but this was a time far from now lol
Tink has been my main for like 3 years now, but I'm still not good enough to do this stuff. This video taught me that I could use my grapple hook as a practical attack in the air.
Oh man, I thought no one would ever look at Toon Link again in Ultimate. He's not my main, but he was one of them in Brawl so I really appreciate this video covering him in Ultimate, I'll definitely put it to use, thanks
Hey izaw! Awesome video, your editing skills are definitely improving. Toon Link seems like an interesting character, might try him out even though I'm not really a zoner guy. I know you probably get a lot of requests, but Bowser jr has a lot of interesting setups and confirms and also high damage combos, but I understand if you wait a while because he is a less played character. Either way, have a great day and keep up the awesome work!
bro your video and photography editing is out of this world, if you ever are looking for somewhere to place your talents, I'm sure youll find it. Thank you for creating probably some of the best guides.
I'm a thicc link main, but this was super fun to watch and even taught me new things for the adult version of the character. Well done as always!
I needed this. Thanks bro 👌🏾
Love these Art of ... videos. Watching the training gets you to train and watching the characters makes you want to play the characters 👍
Thank you so much, I use Toon Link a lot but I wasn’t really aware of a few of these tricks.
I’ve needed something like this for the longest time! Thanks man
Thanks. Now it’s time to practice. This is an amazing tutorial I found super useful. Botw Link is an amazing upgrade to the smash series but I could never walk away from Toon Link.
Also, this is a BEAUTIFUL and excellent in-depth guide on how to properly use tink. Thank you for this video
Been waiting for this video since you started doing Ultimate "Art of" videos. Your Smash 4 video on Toon Link really made me better at him and I can't wait to use the techniques in this video. Thanks for helping me become a better player!
P.S. Those prints are really good! If I had some money I'd buy all of them!
"Try forcing as many jumps and air dodges as possible."
Hah, I get it!
I thought u weren’t gonna bother looking at Toon link until the last dlc of season 1 but Izaw you suprised me and amazed me. Thank you 🙏🏽
The feeling when you realise that one minute of the video has already passed and you haven't heard a word of what IzAw has been saying beacause you've been just concentrated on the edits.
My old Smash 4 main, and the most consistent one at that. Recently I got into using Daisy/Peach and really love their playstyle, but now I want to get back with Toon Link and make him my secondary. Thanks for the video. 👍
Thank you for crediting me IzAw. Great and inspiring guide as always
I was feeling sad but then you uploaded and made my day. I won't even play the character but these guides are just too beautiful.
This vid made me want to pick up Toon Link. Izaw has some of the best editing I've seen on YT
The music probably helped, this wonder is way too good and uplifting
It helps with matchup knowledge too.
@@musique-ef3rz yeah a lot. It explains how to beat the character in a very clean way: first talking about the pros (making the character look broken) amd then he talks about counterplay, which is great writing as well, I REALLY wish I could support his patreon but I'm a student soooo.
@@topino1262 I so wish I could support them too. The best I can do for now is to sub and watch their videos (which I do).
1:35 "and TRI FORCING as many jumps and approaches as possible" I GET IT
Whenever you have time, I think an Art of Greninja would be fantastic!
Probably one of the most technical characters, in my opinion.
FINALLY !! I was waiting for the remake for so long !! Thanks You Izaw 😀
Not gonna lie, didn’t expect this, but I absolutely love it. I have loved Toon since I first started playing Smash Bros back in Brawl. I know he’s not as good as other characters (hell, even the other Links!), but I still love him. This has given me that spark to play him more often again (I’ve been messing around with other characters as of late like Lucario). Thank you for this!!!
I remember watching the Art of Toon Link from Smash 4, thank you for this.
As a toon link main, this was helpful. I need to start implementing more of this stuff.
Same, it’s hard for me to learn Toon Link, especially with the lack of guides or help regarding him. In the beginning, I pretty had to try and study him myself; even then it wasn’t enough
Dude, you have no idea how much I love your edits ❤️
After watching this Video I've been playing Toon link, and I can confirm that the arrow mix up is truly evil
This is top-notch quality content. Keep up the good work Izaw
YES!! ART OF TOON LINK! Been waiting for this forever!
His throws are way better on stages with platforms, because at low %s, you can force a tech situation on platforms, letting you try and punish an option with any of your aerials, or try to punish with boomerang.
You can also neutral airdodge and within about 2 frames of the airdodge animation buffer a z drop, giving you a pseudo counter. This helps alleviate the struggle that is landing with Toon Link, causing your opponent to hit the bomb instead of you while you get to drift away, giving damage to them, as well as putting them in a state of disadvantage.
Zair is also a move that Toon Link should consider a lot between matchups, with characters that have a good out of shield, faster aerials, and are hard to challenge with your normal sword, you can space out and hit them with the safe long disjoint that is his your zair.
Also back throw killing is a myth, as long as you di in it's about as strong as an actual 12 year old shoving you.
@@SluggishSSB Its still a kill throw lol
The art you made is amazing
Art of art? I like what you did there and of course, another amazing tutorial, I had no idea Toon Link could do so much.
Tink mains have been waiting for so long for a good video on toon link
Some things in my time playing toon link I do:
I love his bombs. I spam them to an extent and use them in combos.
I turned off up on the left stick to jump so I can use his Up B spin attack more reliably without accidently jumping.
Sometimes I throw bombs at people, sometimes I throw it up or drop it to deny area.
Y'know the sound effect in cartoons of someone taking a bite of and eating a soft food, like a pie, a slice of cake, or cheese? That's what Toon Link's sword sounds like, especially Jab
Izaw great job, these videos help out a lot
Man this was sick! Definitely worth my patreon support 🤘🏻👍🏻
Thanks for this. I’ve been looking for more characters that blur the lines between zoner and other types. Even if toon link is definitely more of a zoner.
He's really only as much of a zoner as you want him to be, you can focus more on his melee options to great effect. People often anticipate Toon Link to start throwing things the moment he appears on screen, then get caught off guard by how quickly he can approach and start racking up damage.
1:30 Triforcing ;)
I am literally the only person who found that funny
Yes! Toon link was my main in sm4sh and in ultimate I just couldn't get him. But now I can. Thanks Izaw.
I don’t think I’ve felt excitement for a video about toon link in my life before
I was happy to see this in my notifications. I use Tink as my main secondary, and this really helps.
I love toon link's sword sounds
That intro was legendary.
Really amazed by the intro and the transitions, it's not much and definitely not the focus of the video, but it does have its impact.
I've been playing alot of Tink recently so this guid will come in handy.
Damn no wonder marvelous Marco loves getting up close and personal while playing as Tink.
Duuuude, been waiting on this one, thanks for covering my main
Seeing as they heavily nerfed bomb fakes outs going into Ultimate, I kinda had a crisis trying to playing neutral from there since bomb fakes outs _was_ my neutral in Smash 4. So you can only imagine the surprise I had when you did one at 9:08 with legitimate affect.
I can't tell you how priceless this video is considering I dont make enough use of Toon Link's close range game and when I do, it's often wrong.
All I can say is thank you so much for reminding me and encouraging me to keep playing this character. (Almost switched to normal Link out of lust for tech skill, close one)
My dude! Your artwork really elevated the quality of this video. Bravo! And you're selling it?! This man is a genius.
I love your videos man! You should do one on Greninja next
I’m so happy to have subscribed to you. You have saved me in countless brackets
None of effort that you put into this is so insane and I have a mole thank you so much for making a great video keep up the good work I pray that you to monetize you forever
I love the new sword slashing sounds...
That canvas art is amazing!
As a tink main, I’m surprised as to how accurate this video is, people usually don’t understand how to play tink but this video covered pretty much everything
just watched this recently, but wow. what an amazing video!
This is nice! I hardly play any of the Links, but I just seem to like Toon Link the most for his personality and design! ^^
When you say of “Art of Toon Link” you really mean Art of Toon Link.
I lack any sort of understanding regardinging how this man works, so let's learn something from one of the coolest tutorials in Art of Smash history
Toon Link is fucking adorable and I wish Nintendo would port it to the Switch
