Links to Sawtoothtraxx and Mountain Village are in the description! Lots of people are asking about snowmobile policies and rentals and the best person to talk to about that is Todd himself at Sawtoothtraxx. Todd is a local, just a guy with a small business in Stanley Idaho. So feel free to talk to him. Maybe just say "I saw this video on youtube, I'd love to do this, here's my budget, we're coming up such and such days, is there anything you can do?" More often than not I bet it works out for both of you.
Been visiting stanley every summer since I was born. You inspired me to book a couples trip for my wife and our friends in February so we can explore all our favorite places in the winter. Thanks!
O man thanks Tyler! That's great for us to hear. I'm heading back up with my family in February to show them the Sawtooths in winter for the first time. hope you and the fam have an awesome adventure! 🍻
Fantastic work! Your videos capture a perfect balance of stunning cinematography and corresponding mood music with unique facts and information and genuine human connection. Your appreciation of nature is reflected and thanks for passing it on so other can share in the experience. A piece of my heart ❤️ still lives in Stanley! Those mountains are medicine to the soul. 🙏
Can u put a child on the snowmobile with u?? What r the rental prices and u said they rent extra warm clothes? Is there a yurt or a place with a fire at the rental place or at a yurt at the lake etc? Thank u so much!!!
The yurts in Stanley are way back in there, and you would have to snowshoe in. They're also big so they cost a around $500 a night, and they book up way in advance. I hope to do a video on one, but they aren't convenient lets put it that way. Heres info on the snowmobile www.sawtoothtraxx.com/snowmobile-rentals
@@JonConti thx. I was just in the process of showing the kids the trail and sleds. No brainer. That looks too fun. I’ve rented sleds before in other places if our beautiful state and where I’ve been they have almost a small yurt or hut that has a fire going and an outhouse connected. All people sledding go there to take a break, fox something, get warm, or open their coolers. Sounds like nothing like that but a beautiful view of the lake, I’ll take it. Thanks again guys. Any feel for how a child would go on a sled with adult. Are his sleds heated or are the handgrips heated etc. Thanks for the videos guys! Not sure how I don’t agave the entire state watching these!!!
@@donotrobme9295 Ya the sleds are heated. Nice hand warmers. I get what what you're talking about with the fire and sleds now and ya unfortunately nothing like that in Stanley. Not even at Todd's shop. That's kind of the reason we paired the snowmobile with the hot spring, because exactly like you were saying, snowmobiling and not having something warm at the end of the trail is kind of a bummer. Staying at the hotel or at least booking a time there is your best bet, and after your sled you're right there and can warm up with a soak.
@@donotrobme9295 I also don't know how we don't have the whole state watching these! Lol. If you get 1 vacation idea from the 52 videos we post a year that are free to watch, I feel that's worth it! But it's almost more fun having our little corner of the internet. Each video is more like a little secret we all get to share.
These are trail sleds, not backcountry sleds, and you will not be sitting riding a backcountry sled, and and burning about 1000 calories an hour, and you don't want heavy insulated Midwest flat land snowmobile gear.

@@JonConti hey do you have any still photos of us down there at sumbeam you can send us?
Why do the locals call it the snake pit?
I didn't get a good answer on that or a good enough story to remember
@@JonConti I assume no snakes in winter but creeps me out for the other seasons ha ha
Fantastic 😍💋 💝💖♥️❤️

Always some form of Chaco, amen. Not only rocks but drunks have broken too much glass.
