my neighbor had a tree exactly like this one for 5~6 years, he always refused to give us some to eat/taste from it ! he also refused requests form the people asking for some seeds/sticks to plant, we used to call it "plums-grape" in our street because the fruit looks like a plum from the outside but it's grape, color tends to red-sh identical to the one in your video, when it's the season for pruning the old man used to take all the sticks and burn them out of the city.. people actually followed him, the old man was treating this tree like a secret, luckily his son give me some to eat in secret & he did it again the next year or the after, it taste like water zero sweet & no seeds also it's hard & "dry" compared to the normal grapes, it will make a sound when you crush it with your teeth the first time. it's basically the perfect result of grafting a plum tree with whit grape tree maybe the Japanese did it in a Lab but i'm 100% sure my neighbor is not a japans scientist he is just very old Libyan man, he died 3 years ago idk what happened to his tree.

Great video! I'm buying seeds hoping I can try growing my own in CA. Growing from seeds is always a gamble but it's worth a shot].
Try the Kyoho grape next.. it certainly won't be as expensive!

fruit in general is stupid expensive in japan. Japan just likes anything that is exotic and don't care whether or not it is actually good. The durian fruit is another good example. I know people you buy it simply because it is expensive.

I never imagine I would say this but, I might actually be crazy enough to buy a Yukari Melon 🍈 just once. 2,000 Yen 💴 for a piece of grape! That's insane! I'd take the Crab Bento 🍱 thank you.
