Let me tell you guys a little about them & at the end I'll post one of their videos . Def Leppard formed in 1977 in Sheffield England & after practicing for about 6 months after working regular day jobs , the lead singer went to his dad to borrow money so they could record their first album . After hearing the album a record company decided to sign them to a contract even though their average age was only 18 . But one of the members decided to leave the band , so they started looking for his replacement & they found his replacement in 1978 when a young Rick Allen came in to audition for the band & when I say young . He was only 15 when the band said he was the one that they wanted in the band . Several years go by & they released 2 albums since Rick Allen came in & at this point the year was 1983 & they started having trouble with one of their guitarist Pete Wills because his drinking was getting out of hand . They tried helping him but nothing was working so they let him go & brought in a new guitarist Phil Collin . They record & release their next album called Pyromaina in 1984 & after touring for 9 months the album becomes the #2 album in the world right behind Michael Jackson's Thriller . Now at the young age of 21 maybe 22 Rick Allen goes to a Chevy dealership & buys a Corvette & has it shipped back to England . They talk about what they want to do for their next album called Hysteria & they decide to rent a place just outside of Dublin Ireland & started recording that album . They decided to take a break for the holidays & here's where they become the greatest band ever . On December 31st 1984 Rick Allen & his girlfriend at the time decided to take a drive in that Corvette . Rick's life would change forever because on that day . He rolled that Corvette & while he was laying in the hospital the rest of the band held a press conference & they said . Even though they had the #2 album in the world , until Rick Allen came back to the band or until he comes to the rest of the band & says he can't do it anymore & to replace him . They walked away from music . Finally in August of 1987 they finally released the album that they were working on when Rick had his car wreck & Rick Allen was back with the band & to this day he's still in the band . Def Leppard's album Hysteria is one of the best selling albums of all time & till this day still holds 2 records . The first record it holds , that album had a total of 7 singles & all 7 were on Billboard's top 100 count down from August of 87 through October of 88. The second record that album holds is , from August of 87 through October of 88 6 of those 7 singles were in the top 10 . This video is of one of the songs that was at #4 called Animal .
