The thing I love about your tutorials is that they are exactly the way I think when I want to choose a quilt pattern. I like using precuts and to assemble my blocks without having to refer to instructions at every steps. Hallelujah! PA USA
Dont know if you guys cares but if you guys are bored like me atm you can stream all of the latest series on Instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother during the lockdown =)
Love this way of using a Layer Cake and love too your teaching style. I hate "waffle" when trying to concentrate on a tutorial and your concise, all-points-covered method is perfect. I am so pleased I discovered Sewing Street and know my sewing and quilting skills will improve considerably following you folk along. Best wishes and "Thank You" to everyone at Sewing Street. Thank you for that variation, and title, of the block. I used a Christmas themed layer cake with each section/log of the block a different print. I think I shall try yours next.
I just found you a few days ago. Just watched 4 more tutorials ! Love that you actually show every step with such detail. And I like that each one is only minutes long ,not drug out forever! I subscribed right away☆☆☆☆☆
I just found your channel, and enjoy your pleasant, calm and confident manner when you show us how this quilt is made. I have subscribed and look forward to enjoying more of your videos!
Love this block... Question... after you cut your block by the 2 1/2 inch size, would I be safe to trim all the strips (except the first one) down by that 1/2 inch? I am older (82) and find that the up and down for all that trimming and ironing wears me out. Another question on the use of the Fancy Stitches, was this done before or after the quilt sandwich was completed.......
Absolutely you can trim in advance, I’m going to do exactly that so that I can piece the whole block in one step in chan fashion. I believe the decorative stitching is done when the quilt is finished to as part of the actual quilting. It’s a great idea, I haven’t seen that technique before and it much more forgiving than the traditional quilting in the ditch which is quite difficult. Good luck with your quilt, greetings from the UK.
Question...started this quilt but I'm finding that all of my seams are running in the same direction...not opposite...so when it comes time to join the four blocks together to make the larger block, I can't "lock and line" up the seams as traditionally done. Did I miss something? I ironed exactly as shown in the video. Maybe I should be ironing all the seams "open"?
Hi Dale I have Katrina with me and she has said: it can be difficult to have all your seams going in the right direction, because of shuffling your squares, therefore it is an option to press you seams open. Katrina has done this in the past.
This is very interesting but I wish the demonstrator was more aware of where she puts her rotary cutter. It’s a safety issue with me. I think beginner quilters could benefit from learning to put a rotary cutter a little further away from their hands.
Love your videos. You explain and demonstrate what is going on clearly. Thank you.

I love how you explain the logical steps you take and why it makes the block come together easily.

@Oscar Bruce Yea, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for since december myself =)
🥰 It’s a cute quilt. A person can make this many times looking different every time. Clever.🌸💕

Another brilliant tutorial, thank you!
Love it, no waste!
Easy block , that I like.
Love it...however, what about using a charm pack and matching jelly roll to save a lot of cutting??? More expense, but less work in cutting. Huh?
Just found this Gem….I love it ❣️
this is a great q-a-y-g pattern. well done, tfs!
This is awesome thank you. Can't wait to try it but can't find the pattern. Please keep posting great tutorials.
Lovely block. Thanks
You're welcome Bridget!
Beautiful quilt from easy blocks
Is there a pattern to print off?
I love your concise demos and really like your patterns, but I must be dense because I can't ever find the free patterns to download!
This will be a fun quilt for a child! (And easy for a beginner!)
You and I have the same issue with 'too tall tables'!

Just found your videos, love it, and love this pattern. I’ve subscribed. Btw, hello from Texas
Thanks for subbing!
Just found you and will subscribe.
Your videos are excellent content-wise and technically. Can I ask you where you got that go-pro mount?
I love the quilt. However, I did not see a pattern that I could print? Thanks
Fun!
What happen to the free Christmas block I’m still waiting for my fourth instalment . I love this, great new block
Tune in next Tuesday Monica! :)
❤
Beautiful. Now if I could just get someone to cut all the pieces out for me as I don't enjoy that bit!
What is the unfinished size of the block? 9"?
Is the pattern on the website?
Love the quilt, you make things look so easy. Can you let me know the make of your iron? Thank you
It's an Oliso Smart Iron - Very clever technology!
Very nice. Thank you for the demo. The quilt size would be 48 inches before adding borders right?
I have checked with Katrina and the size is 51-52 inches before adding the border.
@@SewingStudio Thank you. Have a wonderful day!

Hello Dale I will ask Katrina and let you know.

I love this iron!!! What brand is it?
Hello! The iron is by Oliso, its called the Smart iron. You can buy from us: www.thesewingstudio.co.uk/products/oliso-smart-iron-uk
how do you get the free pattern?
After you make the 2nd cut, don't you have a 7 1/2 inch square? Why would you need to turn it to make the 3rd cut?
Where can I find the download for this pattern ?
Hi Virginia, The 'free quilt pattern' is referring to the video tutorial. Sadly we dont have any free download for this one.
Thank you ❤@@SewingStudio
This is very interesting but I wish the demonstrator was more aware of where she puts her rotary cutter.
It’s a safety issue with me. I think beginner quilters could benefit from learning to put a rotary cutter a little further away from their hands.
Lots of seams to match up in the traditional layout. 😬
What a cute quilt! Thank you for sharing.
