Yes your children will love them. I made my 10 year old grand daughter a Better Made Potato Chip purse. I cross over bag. She went crazy. Loved it.

shouldnt be a problem! if its sticky put some tape on your presser foot to help the plastic slide through if you dont have a teflon foot

How do you go about making a bag like these only canvas on the outside and a fabric on the inside but lined with the plastic?
i have a few different box pouch tutorials on my channel, you can easily swap out the fabric lining with a piece of plastic,

They sell it on a bolt at any fabric store, I got this specific kind at fabricville.com
Amazon, Joann, HobbyLobby, Walmart even in Mexican $1 stores with good thick , or thinner vinyl

Between 8 and 14 oz clear plastic vinyl. U can get it from fabric stores

Yep I would stick with between 10 - 16 gauge vinyl . My lace zipper was about 12 inches in length
